Have a six year old with nothing to do? Want to find a way to interact with your children? Then try Play Ball by Gamewright. Gamewright has created a truly unique game that makes learning addition fun.
Play Ball is fast and easy to learn. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and I was up and playing in less than three minutes. What makes this game different is that way it teaches cooperation and sportsmanship to the very young.
Educators, parents and kids will spend hours learning to add to nine. A great game for those rainy days when you have nothing to do. Play ball is small enough to travel and extremely easy to store.
Play ball is priced to fit any and all budgets. Play Ball is a definite winner.

Playballs baseball theme comes directly from our fans requests. Sports are one way to learn about math, strategy, and competition. Players use addition and grouping skills to field teams equal to nine points in each of the four-color suit. Their opponents strategically use their action cards to block. My First Uno - Where the Wild Things Are Review

My First Uno - Where the Wild Things Are
Average Reviews:

I played the game with my 8 yr old nephew and 5 yr old niece at Christmas and we loved it. The game doesn't have as many game cards as regular Uno, so it was easy for my niece to understand, but still fun for my nephew. The game features colored number cards, draw two cards, and 4 wild cards. We played the game competitively, though the 5 yr old layed all her cards on the floor face up and we helped her along. It was a great learning tool because she got to work on color and number recognition, and my nephew worked on his math skills adding up the points after each round. It was great fun and I've seen multiple versions of "My First Uno" with other characters. There's one out there for everyone! PS I found it for $4.99 at Walmart.

My 2.5 year old son's teacher uses this toy as a learning tool, and my son loves it. She lays out all the cards with the characters on them and tells him to take each character out of the toy and place it on the appropriate card. He is definately learning his matching skills using this toy. It is very cute, and definately reccomend it for fun or for learning!

Letter Dwarves Review

Letter Dwarves
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Letter Dwarves is a game produced by Haba aimed at reinforcing alphabet and vocabulary skills in children ages 6-10 (these are the manufactuers recommended ages, I believe kids as young as 4 can enjoy this game). Haba is known for producing kids games with high-quality components and this one is no exception.
The goal of Letter Dwarves is to be the first player to move your dwarf pawn around the board while collecting at least 3 gold tokens. To accomplish this, players flip tiles depicting one of the following:
1 - a set of objects
2- "Fairy Forget-me-not" holding a picture frame asking you to name 2 objects, 2 animals or give 2 names
3 - "Hob Hotchpotch" holding a frame asking the player to identify a letter falling between two other letters
For tiles 1 or 2, the player has a choice of using one of 4 letters, each of which is resting on a barrel on the gameboard and each having a point value (1-4) used to move the players dwarf around the board. The player must choose one of the four letters to name an object on the card (in case 1) or 2 animals, objects or names (in case 2). In order to land on treasure spaces and collect gold, the player may need to use a specific letter associated with the number of spaces he needs to move. This is the stage where vocabulary comes in as players try to think of different ways to name an object on the card (ie "castle" could also be "fortress" or "palace" etc...). Alternately, if a player draws tile type 3, they name the missing letter and roll a 6-sided die to determine movement points.
My kids enjoyed Letter Dwarves, though perhaps not quite as much as some other games we've played. I do think this is a good game to help younger kids work on their vocabulary and alphabet. I also like the fact that it encourages kids to really use their powers of observation at times. My son needed to name an object beginning with E and had a card with a Zebra, a Camel, a fence, shed, bushes... and was drawing a blank until it finally hit him that the animals had Eyes and Ears. For my daughter, the game was good for getting her to identify beginning sounds of words with their letters.
Overall a pretty good game for kids. It's hard to go wrong with Haba, a company that consistently puts out quality products.

Clay Mania Review

Clay Mania
Average Reviews:

My wife and I have spent 4 years looking for this game after playing with some friends'. The game is similar to Pictionary except you use clay. The clay that comes with the game wears--but this is due to the continual play we have given it! We will simply replace the clay with some from a toy store or make our own! From the artistic to the sculpting impaired--everyone laughs at this game as trying to sculpt at a hurried pace is hard, comical, and fun. It's a hoot and quite the hit with friends and family. A big thumb's up (with clay under the fingernails I might add!)

Will your fingers work as fast as your brain and more importantly, will your sculpturelook like a fire hose instead of a trombone? Sink your hands into this fast action party game. You have 45 seconds to squish, squash, and sculpt a mound of clay into anobject that your teammates can guess what it is you're making. You can animate the clay but you're not allowed to say a word.Michelangelo detail is not needed - fast sculpting and creative thinking are all that is required.

Crafty Badger by Haba Review

Crafty Badger by Haba

I love Haba games. They are unique, colorful & well made. We have about 30 games in the 2-5 year age range and when playdates come they all want to play the games they have never seen before. Haba states the recommended age as 2-4, they could raise that to 2-7. It's not the best Haba game but it's a good Haba game. We have fun-except my 4 year old daughter always wants to be trhe "owner" of the blue suitcase & it doesn't quite work that way. I would have loved to see handles on the suitcases. I prefer Zocken Locken ( Lucky Sock Dip) or Shildi Shildkrote (Twiddle Turtle). BTW- the Princess & the Pea game they have is cute bit it's not really a game. I would still purchase Crafty Badger again. We play it at least twice a month & we all have a good time.

The first player to pack all of his clothes into suitcases wins this exciting game! The roll of the die indicates the color of suitcase in which to put the trousers, caps, t-shirts or socks. The Crafty Badger keeps moving from case to case as each player takes a turn. Watch out - the player who rolls the Badger on the die has to take possession of all the clothing in the suitcase guarded by the Crafty Badger. For 2-4 players, ages 4 and up. Requires no reading.

This game is destined to be a classic. It is fun, fast-paced and exciting for children. Anyone can win, and positions often change at the last minute. It is a game my children enjoy playing over and over. It reinforces color recognition and counting skills as the players advance though the jungle path. It is easy for a child to teach another child to play (great for play dates!) The animal characters on the board are adorable, my child sees something new on the board every time we play. A MUST for anyone with young children!

My son received this game for Xmas.
It is a SUPER game. In fact it would be a great first game for a child. the game board is a big foam 5 piece "puzzle" that fits together. It has nice big space for the active kids who are always moving around. Easy to move pieces (the spaces are big enough we routinely use little peoples or various toys as game pieces, which the kids love!!!
It is an easy game, much like candy land and doesnt take long to play.

O Zoo le Mio Review

O Zoo le Mio
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This game is colorful, fast-paced, simple, and smart. Good for a range of ages, my friends and I would even play it in college when we were in a silly mood for something light and amusing. The basic idea is to get the most points from the layout of your zoo based on the arrangement and content of your tiles, which all players silently bid on during each of the five rounds.
Each round counts as a year, and during each round, five tiles are put on the auction block, one at a time. Each player has a certain amount of "coins" from the beginning of the game and receives more for each tile they have at the end of a year, but they bid on each tile by deciding how many coins they are willing to part with, putting it in their closed hand, and revealing their bid at the same time.
The winner keeps the tile and arranges it in their zoo. Different numbers of trees, enclosures, or connecting exhibits allow the player to compete for the most of a category, and at the end of a year, the winner gets two points for each one (number of trees, "orange" exhibits, "yellow" exhibits, "blue" exhibits, etc. -the colors represent types of exhibits like aquatic, primates, etc.) Second place gets one point. Each year the points are worth more (year one, multiply by one, year two, multiply by two, year three, multiply by three...)
The strategy requires players to guess how much a tile is worth, in terms of point possibilities, positioning in their park versus other players' parks, how many coins they and others have left, and where to place each tile in your park. Because each tile is different, and you are not sure what will come up next, there is always planning to be done.
Once you learn the game, which doesn't take too long (it's so much easier than this sounds), it becomes pretty fast-paced and is a lot of fun. Great for many ages, families, and friends!
The thick glossy tiles are durable, as are the solid wood pieces (coins, people, benches, trees). That's about it as far as parts go, though since they are small, it would be wise to save this for an age group not prone to eating everything. The recommended age is 9+, but slightly younger kids could try it out as well.

Who Am I? Review

Who Am I
Average Reviews:

I bought this game as a gift for my 4 year old daughter. It is a wonderful game but better suited for a little older children. My five and seven year old love "Who am I." They have to go from very general questions to specific questions to find out what image is on their card. A little too complex for 4 year olds.
I only gave it three stars for durability because the cards are easily bendable by little hands. My kids sometimes bend a card just to mark it so they know which image it has.
