Make - A - Monster Language Arts Test Prep Games - Grade 3 Review

Make - A - Monster Language Arts Test Prep Games - Grade 3
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I ordered this game for my tutoring practice. My younger students like it and think it is funny. :)
I only wish that the manufacturer would have given quality a higher priority. The monster pieces are thin cardboard coated with plastic. An arm got bent the very first game and that is only the first of many tweeks that will occur. They should have been made out of plastic.
Each monster piece and game card is coated with plastic. However it is not a good plastic, like on regular playing cards. It has a film that comes off on your fingers that is irritating to my skin . I had to wash off each piece and card with soap and water- very time consuming.
The stand that the monster attaches to is durable quality plastic with a wide base.

Wet Head Board Game Review

Wet Head Board Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We have one at the office -- not a kid in sight -- and we love to fill it with water and play a round or two to get us through our oh-so-long work days. Now I'm getting one for home and one for my nieces and nephews. It's so deceptively simple -- put on the hat, pull out a lever, hope you don't get wet -- it's hard to believe this game isn't a family staple already. Seriously, if Wet Head had come out in the '50s, it would've been bigger than the hoola-hoop!
Oh, and it's actually educational, too. It's a very effective way to teach elementary schoolers the principles of odds and probability.

Strap on the water filled Wet Head, spin the top and pull out any one of the rods. If you stay dry, pass Wet Head to the next player. Make Wet Head the perfect game for any season by adjusting the amount of water you use to play. Fill Wet Head to brim when outside in the summer heat. Bring the fun indoors for winter by using a minimal amount of water. Summer or winter, the question remains the same, "Will you be the next Wet Head'" Game includes: West Heat Hat, Wet Head Canister and eight Wet Head Rods. For two or more players.

Chunks - A Word Building Game (Using Onsets and Rimes) Review

Chunks - A Word Building Game (Using Onsets and Rimes)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I homeschool my 3 children, one is a beginning reader, the second is a struggling reader and my third is fantastic reader, but awful in spelling, so finding an educational game that they can all play is always a challenge. This game works for all 3 children! My beginner reader is learning beginning AND advance phonics, my struggling reader is continuing to work on his skills and improving rapidly the more we play, and my advance reader must read the word, then turn the word over and spell it to keep the word! On top of those benefits, we often keep the computer nearby and "look-up" any potential words that we don't think are actual words, but turns out that they are ... so then we get a vocabulary lesson as well! Needless to say - I LOVE this game and highly recommend!!

Alphabet Squiggle Board Game Review

I was looking for something different to get my 2 children a little more interested in learning their letters (especially my son!). This game did the trick. It kept them entertained and interested and they didn't realizing they were actually learning. It is really easy to play and now that they understand the concept I can just leave them be with it. What kid doesn't love to draw?

With Alphabet Squiggle every child is learning. As players land on a letter, they find it on the outside board, then trace the letter or write it from memory. If they turn their letter into a picture OR write a word that begins with the letter, they advance around the board faster. It s fun! Great for up to four players.

Brain Quest Games - Brain Quest SMART Game Review

Brain Quest Games - Brain Quest SMART Game

I bought this game because my 3 1/2 year old craves knowledge and loves games. While the first level is geared for Grade 1, she has been able to answer 85% of all the questions without difficulty. I have played at grade 6 and found myself forgetting some of the answers. This game is just fantastic for aged 3-100 I would say. The game is even larger than I thought it would be. Included are a large spinner with all of the categories including Science, Math, Arts, Reading & The World. There is even a space of choose your category which is the most fun. I don't think anyone would be bored playing this game.
Certainly the best thing for breaks from school & summer time to keep young minds sharp!

Pressman Splashy The Whale Game Review

Pressman Splashy The Whale Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My daughter loves this game. It is just like going fishing only in the whales mouth. We like how you can get squirted with water if you pull the tounge up. My three year old likes to pull up the tounge just so he can get wet. My kids will enjoy this game many years from now I'am sure. Even I like to play with them this is not boring at all. Pressman makes fun games, and that is what matters it does not have to always be educational. Kids perfer games like this, and your probably not going to see it collecting dust in your closet. You can probably use the pieces with this game to count for the younger kids if it is all about educational games for you.

Hedbanz Game Review

Hedbanz Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We bought this game for our son's 10th birthday--not knowing what to expect, but the entire family (including our eight year old daughter) really enjoyed it. The concept is incredibly simple. Pick a card, place it on your (supplied) head band so that everyone except you can see it and begin asking questions as to what you are. "Am I an animal?" "Am I a food?" etc. Once you get an affirmative answer, your questions get more granular "Am I a fruit?" "Am I a dessert?" etc. Of course you are free to ask any question aside from "What am I?" The game comes with a sand-glass timer, and if you are unable to guess what you are before time runs out, on your next turn you can either get a new card (and lose a point) or continue guessing what you are. All in all, a very fun game for everyone in the family!
