Gamewright the Legend of Landlock, the Mythical Map Strategy Game Review

Gamewright the Legend of Landlock, the Mythical Map Strategy Game
Average Reviews:

My family has an entire closet dedicated to games but Landlock is the one we reach for the most. From the toddler who enjoys making maps with the sturdy little pieces to the grown-ups who hold grudge matches in the evenings, everyone loves it. Adult guests might look at you funny when you bring out the "gnome game" but only until you've whipped 'em a few times. The game box is also small, making it easy to toss into a suitcase or picnic basket.

I Can Do That Games - Green Eggs and Ham Speedy Dinner Game Review

I Can Do That Games - Green Eggs and Ham Speedy Dinner Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Wow! My kids are pretty active, and they got into this game right away. (They are almost-4, and almost 6.)
You can play the game with two people, but it is better with three or four. One person is the "chef", who reads out the menu items that need to be delivered to each "customer" (there are plates for the goat, the fox, and the mouse). Sometimes you need to take things away, and sometimes you need to switch things. The game is scored with "coins", and the amount is determined by how correct all 3 orders are at the end, and how quickly the items are delivered.
The game pieces are a heavy cardboard, which so far have held up pretty well. The menu is a plastic "book" where the chef clicks thru the various items (which are all pictures, so even my 4 year old can take a turn at Chef).
The kids enjoy the fast pace of the game. You can make it more difficult by placing the diners farther away from the "kitchen" (where the players pick up the menu items). I like the fact that they need to work together to get a good score.

The fast-paced frenetically fun food game! Sam-I-Am has opened a café and invited his friends, Fox, Mouse, and Goat, for dinner. Help serve up his signature green eggs and ham along with a menu full of other silly Seussian foods. Listen closely because these critter customers can't decide what to eat! And hurry, hurry, hurry-the musical timer is playing and speedy service is the key to 5-star success! In this fast-paced, frenetically fun game for preschoolers, players work together to deliver food to the café guests as fast as they can. Take turns being the Chef calling out orders to the other players, who serve as waiters, running back and forth to pick up the foods and deliver them to the correct customers. The faster you deliver the food, the more tips you'll make! But watch out-when you hear "Bugs in the Kitchen!" you've got to race back to the dining room and check all the tables for insects. Players use color, shape and other pre-reading skills to identify food items and counting to collect their reward coins. Inspired by the classic Dr. Seuss children's story, Green Eggs & Ham - Speedy Diner! Game serves up big laughs and fast-action role-play fun. The whimsical Musical Menu Book helps kids make the association between letters and words, inspiring confidence and a love for reading. Provides fantastically frenzied high-energy fun! Encourages early reading Promotes counting and number identification Reinforces shape and color matching Fosters cooperative play and social interaction Gets kids moving! B-17 Queen of the Skies Review

B-17 Queen of the Skies
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
While modern computer games may do a better job of simulating the sights and sounds of air-combat and flying bombers over Germany, this game is MUCH more realistic in regards to understanding what was actually happening. There are a lot of charts & tables and dice-rolling, but overall you get a very realistic idea as to just how tough it was to survive 25 bombing missions!
My two brothers and I played this one repeatedly over one weekend, dividing the members of our B-17 crew evenly among us, giving them names, and cheering their successes, like when they'd shoot down an attacking German plane or complete a highly successful bombing mission. Likewise, we felt the terror of having our plane badly damaged by flak and being forced out of formation, only to then be hunted down by German fighters. Once we were even shot down, and everybody had to bail-out. Several individual crewmen didn't make it. Over the course of completing 25-missions, we felt like we'd experienced the real thing. This is an educational game that's a LOT of fun!

Gold Mine Review

Gold Mine is a really fun group game that is easy to learn but still challenging to win. Also, my 3 & 4yr olds are learning how to match the pathways together, how to count, & how to take turns. It really brings the family together and we only expected it to be an adult game because we first played it at a game night with friends. It's also original and has optional rules you can get off the Stratus Games website. We take out the challenges when playing with the kids. Glad we bought it & totally recommend it to any one!

Chapter & Verse Review

Chapter and Verse
Average Reviews:

As a minister, it is always a bit of a challenge to encourage initiates into reading the Holy Scripture. The "Biblephobia" seems to take over and as such many do not experience the richness that has been given to us by our Creator. Chapter and Verse, in a thoughtful and interesting format, helps to break down that barrier and does so in fun and fascinating method. In a world where everyone seems to be so caught up in the concern as to who wrote the Bible, it is nice to see someone take leadership and initiative by focusing their emphasis on who reads the Bible. I found it to be helpful when playing with youth, in that it engages conversation regarding the Scripture.

Long Neckers Matching and Stacking Game Review

Long Neckers Matching and Stacking Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this for my five-year-old niece - she loves giraffes so I thought she might enjoy it. It turned out to be a really fun game and easy to play right out of the box. I'll be truthful, sometimes I try to play games with her and I'm bored out of my mind...this wasn't like that at all. It's a game that's fun for the kids to play together, but also for adults to play WITH kids. The general idea is that you spin to choose pieces of the giraffe's neck and stack to see who gets the highest giraffe. There are lots of ways to adapt the game to extend play...plus the girls had fun just goofing around with the game pieces.

Make - A - Monster Language Arts Test Prep Games - Grade 3 Review

Make - A - Monster Language Arts Test Prep Games - Grade 3
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I ordered this game for my tutoring practice. My younger students like it and think it is funny. :)
I only wish that the manufacturer would have given quality a higher priority. The monster pieces are thin cardboard coated with plastic. An arm got bent the very first game and that is only the first of many tweeks that will occur. They should have been made out of plastic.
Each monster piece and game card is coated with plastic. However it is not a good plastic, like on regular playing cards. It has a film that comes off on your fingers that is irritating to my skin . I had to wash off each piece and card with soap and water- very time consuming.
The stand that the monster attaches to is durable quality plastic with a wide base.

Goliath That's It Review

Goliath That's It

That's it! Is a more fun and expanded game of guess who, which is fun but can become very boring because you only have one choice and that's people which if your playing against the same people over and over you can figure out what they are going to choose and the same for them towards yourself. That's it! Has flags of the world, Children of the world, etc. It's got more options and i think more fun thatn Guess Who. It's still fun as ever trying to figure out what your opponent has chosen before they figure you out with yes or no questions. I highly recommend this game.

Each player picks a secret picture. The object of the game is to find out what image your opponents have chosen before they find yours. You find out by asking yes or no questions: Does your animal have four legs? Does your animal fly? Does your animal swim in the water? The game comes with four different sets of images so you can play over and over.

Cluzzle Review

Cluzzle
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
OVERVIEW: Cluzzle covers the somewhat odd "world" of clay puzzle making.
Basically, each player must create a puzzle (or should I say, "Cluzzle") of an object, action or idea, but must create it in such as way as to avoid it being too easy. The trade-off is that one must also be careful as to not make the puzzle too hard, or risk receiving no points at all for their masterpiece.
My group played this using the latest edition rules which do away with the question markers and allow for unlimited questions each round, with the only requirement being that one question must be answered before a new one is asked (to avoid yelling over each other). We also saw fit to play with a house rule that required the person asking the question to pause for a second after their question was answered, to allow time for someone else to start a question. This really helped keep things civil, and stopped one player from "grilling" another under a hot lamp (We tried the old "good cop/bad cop" routine, with mixed results).
In each round, the value of each cluzzle rises by one point until the last round in which cluzzles are worth 3 points. This point scheme applies to both the guesser, and the cluzzle-maker, with both being awarded for a correct guess. In some cases, multiple guessers are awarded.
THE HIGHS: First, the clay itself is quite nice. You can tell that there was an eye to quality here, and while the amount of clay is slightly limiting, it is nice to know that the next time you come back to play, the clay will still be moist enough to work with.
Additionally, we found that the choice of puzzles to create was very random, and didn't follow any one theme. This makes the game much more challenging, as one doesn't know if the puzzle will be a vegetable, or an olympic event. Also, there are enough catagories that it would be nearly impossible to recognize one from a previous playing.
The laugh factor is huge. We played with a 20-something crowd, and found that the jokes were pretty much endless. A good laugh was had by all, as we pointed out various alternate possibilities for puzzles, or scratched our heads trying to figure out just what that extra glob of clay was meant to represent.
THE LOWS: Only a few things come to mind here. First, the play money is a little tough to work with. It's thin, and sticks together, making it difficult to hand out. All of those playing felt that it would have been better to create a scoring track on the center board, and have each player place a dab of clay denoting their score.
Another item that may have been useful would have been a cardboard "blind" so that others couldn't see your puzzle in it's creation stage. Many times a player will cloud their puzzle in mystery by removing certain give-away attributes, and it would have been nice to have a screen that blocked others from seeing.
OVERALL IMPRESSION: I was a bit stunned by the response "Cluzzle" received. From the most serious players, all the way up to the strictly party-gamers, this one was a success. I had the impression that most felt this was a game not meant to be played at every opportunity, but rather one that would be called on to provide a little comic relief, especially after a longer, more serious game.
I would be inclined to recommend this game to families with young children, as this could be the "Pictionary" of their generation. I would also recommend this to people who like party games, or have friends that would provide extra humour to their creations.
Overall, this is a suprisingly good game worthy of the consideration of almost all gamer types.

Cluzzle is the comical game of Clay Puzzles where players outwit their friends through bad sculpting, tricky questions and insightful guessing. The challenge is to create a clay sculpture that others will guess - eventually. The longer it takes for the other players to guess a sculpture correctly, the more points the sculptor receives. Many party games reward players for conveying a concept as quickly as possible, so those with an artistic ability have an advantage, but Cluzzle allows kids to do just as well as their parents, and lets art class drop-outs compete with the local Michelangelo. This fast-paced and entertaining game is fun for everyone.

Why Did the Chicken...? Review

Why Did the Chicken...
Average Reviews:

I own a lot of games - party, strategy, 2-player, etc...
This is one of the most requested games I own.
Pros:
* It's a blast with the right group*
* It's cheap, so even if you don't love it, it won't break the bank
* Did I mention it's a blast to play?
Con:
* If you have very quiet friends, this probably won't go over too well. Come to think of it though, if you have a lot of quiet friends, most "party games" won't go over too well...
Of note: Wits & Wagers is my groups other hotly requested game. I believe Amazon was running a package deal on this, W&W and another game. Can't go wrong with these!

I love pretty much all things cranium so when I came across this I had to get it. I am a singer and think of my self as knowing a good amount of music. I knew most of the songs in this game. The draw back is they aren't very recent songs so unless you have a good music collection that is pre 90s then you may not know them. So it's good for adults and teens with a wide musical palette. Found it easier to do without the use of the Kazoos but they are fun exspecially when you get a player that doesn't know how to use it.
