My 2.5 year old son's teacher uses this toy as a learning tool, and my son loves it. She lays out all the cards with the characters on them and tells him to take each character out of the toy and place it on the appropriate card. He is definately learning his matching skills using this toy. It is very cute, and definately reccomend it for fun or for learning!

Scene It? Deluxe Disney 2nd Edition Review

Scene It Deluxe Disney 2nd Edition
Average Reviews:

If you're already got last year's Scene It? Disney Super Game Pack you'll find a lot of repeat questions in this new game, but if not it's a lot of fun. If you're going to spend family time in front of the TV, laughing with each other as you try to answer these trivia questions sure beats just sitting there.
Our family has the original Disney Scene It?, but we like this version a lot better. Compared to the old DVD, this package has more types of questions, more questions altogether (as it's spread out over two discs) and covers all the recent Disney films, all the way through Ratatouille. What we liked best about it, though, is that it includes Party Play. That gives you the option to skip the gameboard, have the trivia questions appear automatically one after the another and just sit back and try to out think each other. (Playing that way is unfair to younger kids, but with our 13-year-old we need all the help we can get.)
Another nice touch: the game tokens. They're antique brass versions of Ariel, Lightning McQueen, Nemo and Tinker Bell.

The popular board game that has players watching video clips and shouting out answers is now available in an upgraded Disney theme. This second edition of Screenlife’s Scene It? Disney game is chock full of questions, characters, and clips from both new and classic films from the family-friendly giant. From older films like Alice in Wonderland and The Little Mermaid to new favorites such as The Incredibles and Ratatouille, the game asks questions about unforgettable characters, songs, and scenes.

Pop the game’s DVD into your player to start the magic and mayhem. Loaded with new clips and puzzles, this updated version touches on elephants that fly to cursed pirates and all things in between. There are over 1,000 questions on the 160 trivia cards, so even if you see the same snippet from the 180 on the DVD during the same game, the question about that scene will be different. Special technology randomizes the order of the clips to ensure fresh fun each time the game is played.

The themed, interactive game board can be spread out for longer games, or folded when you don’t have a lot of time (or players). To help you move around the board there are four metal player tokens (Nemo, Ariel, Tinkerbell, and Lightning McQueen), one six-sided die to determine how many spaces to move, and one eight-sided die that determines the category to be played. Once the dice have been rolled, clips are watched, questions are asked, and it’s revealed just how much you know. Use observation, memory, wordplay, and puzzle-solving to answer various challenges about the imaginative characters, celebrated songs, and timeless storytelling you see on-screen. Categories range from Take Three and Songs to Mousellaneous and more.

Not a longtime watcher of Disney and Pixar films? Don’t worry. This game is easy enough to learn and fun enough to play even for those who are not overly familiar with the plots. The trivia cards include questions for adults with separate ones for children, and some questions can be answered simply by paying close attention to the movie clips. There are also 30 Buzz cards available to help (or occasionally hinder) your progress. If these reasons aren’t enough to tempt you into a game on your own, then co-captain the Black Pearl with a friend or family member and play a few rounds in team mode first.

A TV, DVD player, and remote control are needed but not included. The DVD includes an on-screen demonstration of game play.

What’s in the box
2 DVDs
1 Flextime game board
1 six-sided die
1 eight-sided category die
4 collectible metal player tokens
160 trivia cards
30 Buzz cards
4 reference cards

The American Girls Game: Trivia, Trade, & A Trip Through Time (American Girls Collection Sidelines) Review

The American Girls Game: Trivia, Trade, and A Trip Through Time (American Girls Collection Sidelines)
Average Reviews:

I enjoy this game very much, but the reason I marked it 4 stars is because it's quite long, and near the end, it can get a little bit boring. I marked the Education 2 because even though the AG characters come from history, the game doesn't.To win, you must go home with 25 points (which you earn by answering the trivia cards right, Q# 1 gives you one point and etc. up to 3.) and at least three matches, which you can make with the trade cards you draw at every turn. You roll 2 dice to go through the game.

Logico Starter Set Review

Logico Starter Set

My 5-year old son loves the set. He worked through about half of the cards, and he likes to give answers and check if he made them right. The cards have different topics, there is just sample given with the set, and you are supposed to buy more cards for each age group. I think for the price it is a very good game. I am giving it only four stars because amazon does not have any expansion card sets.

This game is destined to be a classic. It is fun, fast-paced and exciting for children. Anyone can win, and positions often change at the last minute. It is a game my children enjoy playing over and over. It reinforces color recognition and counting skills as the players advance though the jungle path. It is easy for a child to teach another child to play (great for play dates!) The animal characters on the board are adorable, my child sees something new on the board every time we play. A MUST for anyone with young children!

Cranium Cariboo Review

We got this game for our 4 year old daughter, but the whole family loves to play it, even our 2 year old. It's a pretty durable toy. I would say that the only "issue" is that you can cheat by peeking in the holes to see where the balls are, but that's not really a big deal. The kids just love winning and getting the big jewel in the treasure chest. I would recommend it to anyone. It's good for color identification (for the little ones) and letter identification for the older kids.

My son received this game for Xmas.
It is a SUPER game. In fact it would be a great first game for a child. the game board is a big foam 5 piece "puzzle" that fits together. It has nice big space for the active kids who are always moving around. Easy to move pieces (the spaces are big enough we routinely use little peoples or various toys as game pieces, which the kids love!!!
It is an easy game, much like candy land and doesnt take long to play.

I Can Do That Games - Green Eggs and Ham Speedy Dinner Game Review

I Can Do That Games - Green Eggs and Ham Speedy Dinner Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Wow! My kids are pretty active, and they got into this game right away. (They are almost-4, and almost 6.)
You can play the game with two people, but it is better with three or four. One person is the "chef", who reads out the menu items that need to be delivered to each "customer" (there are plates for the goat, the fox, and the mouse). Sometimes you need to take things away, and sometimes you need to switch things. The game is scored with "coins", and the amount is determined by how correct all 3 orders are at the end, and how quickly the items are delivered.
The game pieces are a heavy cardboard, which so far have held up pretty well. The menu is a plastic "book" where the chef clicks thru the various items (which are all pictures, so even my 4 year old can take a turn at Chef).
The kids enjoy the fast pace of the game. You can make it more difficult by placing the diners farther away from the "kitchen" (where the players pick up the menu items). I like the fact that they need to work together to get a good score.

The fast-paced frenetically fun food game! Sam-I-Am has opened a café and invited his friends, Fox, Mouse, and Goat, for dinner. Help serve up his signature green eggs and ham along with a menu full of other silly Seussian foods. Listen closely because these critter customers can't decide what to eat! And hurry, hurry, hurry-the musical timer is playing and speedy service is the key to 5-star success! In this fast-paced, frenetically fun game for preschoolers, players work together to deliver food to the café guests as fast as they can. Take turns being the Chef calling out orders to the other players, who serve as waiters, running back and forth to pick up the foods and deliver them to the correct customers. The faster you deliver the food, the more tips you'll make! But watch out-when you hear "Bugs in the Kitchen!" you've got to race back to the dining room and check all the tables for insects. Players use color, shape and other pre-reading skills to identify food items and counting to collect their reward coins. Inspired by the classic Dr. Seuss children's story, Green Eggs & Ham - Speedy Diner! Game serves up big laughs and fast-action role-play fun. The whimsical Musical Menu Book helps kids make the association between letters and words, inspiring confidence and a love for reading. Provides fantastically frenzied high-energy fun! The Barbie Game - Queen of The Prom Review

The Barbie Game - Queen of The Prom
Average Reviews:

I had this game when I was a kid and it has appeared and disappeared in all the years since. Now that I am a (pretty old) mom of girls ten and seven, I was excited to see it rereleased, and though the graphics are 1960s vintage, my girls LOVE it, and so do I! The board is fun and nicely designed. Every space has an instruction or message, with detours for school, boyfriends/dates, odd jobs to earn money, school clubs, shopping, etc. In addition there are surprise cards, money, and cards with the boyfriends, dresses and schools clubs you acquire. There are plenty of random events as well as chances to choose, so it is a game of luck and skill. There are opportunities to use basic arithmetic and intermediate reading skills, as well as strategy, but non-readers can play it with mom or older siblings without detriment to the game. My ten-year-old even played it with a manly but non-sexist 5-year-old boy and they had a blast!

It's the junior version of the popular adult party game of impromptu charades and pantomime! Kids travel the game board and act out funny improvisations in an attempt to make the other players laugh. The more they can make their friends laugh, the more points they score. You just found an ugly bug in your hair, everyone pretend to be his or her favorite cartoon character or pretend to be a sprinkler. These are only a few of the challenges kids will face as they move around the board. Along the way, they may get stuck in LoloLand or have the wear the Clown Nose. Game includes game board, 242 laughter cards, 5 tokens, 1 die, and one, red clown nose. For 2 to 5 players or teams.

Monopoly the Card Game Review

Monopoly the Card Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a great alternative to the full Monopoly game. Importantly, this game can go quickly; it does not need the hours needed to play the full board game. Because it only takes 5 to 10 hands for one player to accumulate the $10,000 it takes to win, this is viable for those (eg, children) with short attention spans. Even more importantly, because this version of the game does not need a board, it is an appropriate alternative for travel situations where you simply don't have space or care to carry the entire board with you.
PLAYING THE GAME. The deck of cards has a full set of individual properties that you can trade or discard after the initial deal. Although you don't roll dice, you can obtain additional cards and properties by drawing new cards as part of your turn -- or you can pick up the discards from your oppononents. There is no concept of 'rent', but the special cards (chance cards, the house/hotel cards, and the 'token' cards) allow you to accumulate the points that you need to accelerate your earnings to the $10,000 winning hand.
There is strategy involved with the game -- particularly around the deciaion of when you want to lay down your cards and managing the discard strategy. This makes it a reasonable thinking/educational game. We've played a few times as a complete family and have found that our 8 1/2 year old can generally think through the consequences well enough to be reasonable successful any given hand. I would question whether this is appropriate for any kids younger than that even though this is rated as being appropriate for 7 and up.

The Grinch - Sing Your Heart Out Review

The Grinch - Sing Your Heart Out
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If it isn't clear from the description, this card game is based on the Grinch, stealing of the Whoville gifts, and singing. There's a "singing detector" and you need to sing loudly enough (and long enough) to trigger it. Okay, so there you have it.
For the simplicity (despite the electronic core of the game, it is simple) you actually have quite a fun game. The kids (nine years old) got a kick out of it. And we had a ball.
But there wasn't a lot of interest in returning to the game again a couple days later. The novelty wore off very quickly. We'll see if it returns...
Just to note, the kids love to sing anyway, know a fair number of songs, and especially like Christmas songs. The game is probably more interesting to younger children, so I'd especially recommend it for the 4-8 year olds.

The game of team-work, singing and surprising sleigh-rides! The Grinch is out to steal the Whos' gifts-but your family can save the day. Only your singing will warm the Grinch's heart and bring his sleigh full of stolen gifts speeding down Mt. Crumpit and back to Who-ville! Collect Who tiles and gifts with each player's turn. But watch out-draw the wrong tile and the Grinch will steal the gifts back! When that happens, team up with your family or friends: If you sing LONG ENOUGH and LOUD ENOUGH, the Electronic Singing Detector will hear your singing and actually launch the sleigh on its wild ride down Mt. Crumpit! Connect all 12 Who Tiles plus matching gifts, and you win! I Can Do That! Games Ages: 5+

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone -- The Game Review

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone -- The Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This game was a good idea, and my family enjoyed it. However, there are a few problems with it; the instructions are lacking, and we had to make up a few rules to account for those that are missing. Also, the chess game is an "abbrieviated" version, but it is still too long to play as part of the 6 and 3/4. We usually leave it out entirely when we play.
In general, the game is well done, and I enjoyed it. The sixth game is the most fun, although it was a bit confusing at first, and the third game is also good. The game is great for Harry Potter fans, but if you are looking for a strategy game, this is not the one ... all in all, a good game.

I bought this for my five-year-old niece - she loves giraffes so I thought she might enjoy it. It turned out to be a really fun game and easy to play right out of the box. I'll be truthful, sometimes I try to play games with her and I'm bored out of my mind...this wasn't like that at all. It's a game that's fun for the kids to play together, but also for adults to play WITH kids. The general idea is that you spin to choose pieces of the giraffe's neck and stack to see who gets the highest giraffe. There are lots of ways to adapt the game to extend play...plus the girls had fun just goofing around with the game pieces.

I was hoping it would be more fun - it was ok. Not enough "present" pieces to use as markers and the pictures on the cards are a bit tough to discern.
