Alma's Design Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly Review

Alma's Design Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly
Average Reviews:

I loved singing the song, "There Was an old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly" when I was a kid, so naturally it's something I sing often to my two kids. This toy makes it all so much more fun! The kids love singing the song over and over, and when their friends come over they always want to play with it.
Everything is very well-made, except our bird's wings fell off. Luckily, they were easy to sew back on. That is the only problem we've had with this product, and it gets a lot of use.

Shure Construction Vehicles Magnetic Playboard and Book Review

Shure Construction Vehicles Magnetic Playboard and Book

My 3 year old son absolutely loves this construction magnet book! He plays with it every day, and it is great to take in the car. The only negative is that there are some very small pieces that could get lost. I chose this construction magnet book, because it has a lot of magnets (19) and the construction scene is great and it comes with a book.

I Can Do That Games - Green Eggs and Ham Speedy Dinner Game Review

I Can Do That Games - Green Eggs and Ham Speedy Dinner Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Wow! My kids are pretty active, and they got into this game right away. (They are almost-4, and almost 6.)
You can play the game with two people, but it is better with three or four. One person is the "chef", who reads out the menu items that need to be delivered to each "customer" (there are plates for the goat, the fox, and the mouse). Sometimes you need to take things away, and sometimes you need to switch things. The game is scored with "coins", and the amount is determined by how correct all 3 orders are at the end, and how quickly the items are delivered.
The game pieces are a heavy cardboard, which so far have held up pretty well. The menu is a plastic "book" where the chef clicks thru the various items (which are all pictures, so even my 4 year old can take a turn at Chef).
The kids enjoy the fast pace of the game. You can make it more difficult by placing the diners farther away from the "kitchen" (where the players pick up the menu items). I like the fact that they need to work together to get a good score.

The fast-paced frenetically fun food game! Sam-I-Am has opened a café and invited his friends, Fox, Mouse, and Goat, for dinner. Help serve up his signature green eggs and ham along with a menu full of other silly Seussian foods. Listen closely because these critter customers can't decide what to eat! And hurry, hurry, hurry-the musical timer is playing and speedy service is the key to 5-star success! In this fast-paced, frenetically fun game for preschoolers, players work together to deliver food to the café guests as fast as they can. Take turns being the Chef calling out orders to the other players, who serve as waiters, running back and forth to pick up the foods and deliver them to the correct customers. The faster you deliver the food, the more tips you'll make! But watch out-when you hear "Bugs in the Kitchen!" you've got to race back to the dining room and check all the tables for insects. Players use color, shape and other pre-reading skills to identify food items and counting to collect their reward coins. Inspired by the classic Dr. Seuss children's story, Green Eggs & Ham - Speedy Diner! Game serves up big laughs and fast-action role-play fun. The whimsical Musical Menu Book helps kids make the association between letters and words, inspiring confidence and a love for reading. Provides fantastically frenzied high-energy fun! Encourages early reading Promotes counting and number identification Reinforces shape and color matching Fosters cooperative play and social interaction Gets kids moving! Game Components: Musical Menu timer Chef hat Green Eggs and Ham 20 coins 18 food tiles 8 double-sided menu cards 3 customer pads Score pad

Where the Wild Things Are Review

Where the Wild Things Are

I have a son who is 9 and a daughter who is 6 years old. They both enjoy playing this game. The playing pieces are wonderful- the characters and images are right from the book (by Maurice Sendak). There are so many possible combinations of creating a puzzle maze that it's almost like having a new game everytime. The kids really like choosing their own pieces, especially the character images. The pieces are all very colorful and made from good quality cardboard. This game is a MUST for anyone who knows and enjoys the book.

Harry the Dirty Dog 10" Soft Toy Review

Harry the Dirty Dog 10 Soft Toy

My husbands favorite childhood book, Harry the Dirty Dog was given to my oldest son 28 years ago by his Grandmother. This year, we had our first grandson and in turn, he was presented with the book by me. We were thrilled to find the plush Harry to give our little guy on his first Christmas. He matches the personality of his literary counterpart to the tee. I know the stuffed Harry will be loved as much as the story. So happy to have found this little treasure to add to the charm Grandpas faviorite storybook!

Colorforms Yo Gabba Gabba 3 - D Deluxe Play Set Review

I can't hold the toy responsible for my rough kids, but I can say it didn't last very long. It opens up into a Pop-up book type thing with a ribbon on one side keeping it at a 90 degree angle. Well the ribbon tore off very quickly, and we now have to prop it up for it to "work". But the kids loved dressing up the characters and pretending to be in gabba land. They didn't care, which is why I have it 4 stars. It shouldn't be $[...] dollars though. It shouldn't be more than $[...].

Harold and the Purple Crayon Game Review

Harold and the Purple Crayon Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This game is a hit with my 11 yr. old son, who has moderate to high-functioning autism, and also with his 4 yr. old sister. My son needs to work on his language skills, and likes to draw, so it is therapy that he likes! His sister also loves the game, and has no trouble remembering the story line as each person adds to the drawing/story board. The game/story is different each time, so it's interesting to me to play along with them. The cards with the drawings help children to expand their topics, which is an issue with most autistic kids. The gameboard wipes off better if you use a paper towel as recommended, then wipe off with a damp paper towel.

Baby Einstein Alphabooks Review

Baby Einstein Alphabooks
Average Reviews:

My daughter received this for her first birthday and I swear it was because of these books that she knew her ABCs before she turned two. Each letter book has three pictures beginning with that letter - a cartoon, an artwork, and a photograph - along with the word (e.g., the letter M has a drawing of a monkey, a picture of a glass of milk, and a cartoon drawing of a moon). She loves going through all 26 of them with us - and could entertain herself with them because the pages are thick and sturdy enough for her to easily manipulate them. After a year of frequent use we just had to tape the box together as it started to become unglued at the corners. Definitely worthwhile and fun!

Catechism of the Catholic Church Board Game Review

Catechism of the Catholic Church Board Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As a professional and volunteer catechist, I've had much experience teaching the CCC to young people. This game is a fun way for young people to get a sense of how much they know (and don't) about the Catholic faith. I don't think it works in a traditional classroom setting (too many players), but for a small youth group (maybe 15 or less) or religious ed class, it's a nice way to engage everyone.

Gobblet Review

Gobblet
Average Reviews:

I'm a teenager that loves games. I like board games, pencil and paper games, card games, sports...ALL KINDS!! I got GOBBLET for christmas last year. I started playing with my dad and thought this is ok...until he beat me! I was determined to win against him. On the last week of Christmas Break, we played at least 40 games. It's the most engrossing, fun, stategical game I've played. It combines the simplicity of Tic-Tac-Toe with the strategy of Chess and adds a little bit of Memory.
The Object is to aline four of your pieces in a row. Simple right? well the other player can gobble up your smaller pieces. You can gobble up his. It gets tricky to out smart your opponent, but it's ridiculously FUN!
It's for two players and each person gets either black pieces or tan pieces. The pieces are quite nice. They will last longer than ten years if they aren't lost. The board is also nice. The company that makes it, made it extra nice. Everything's made of wood that can take a beating.
Gobblet is the best, most fun game that I own!
