Remote Possibilities Game Review

Remote Possibilities Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My favorite part of this game is the fact that players can sit in any part of the room (we played in the living room). People got comfortable on a couch, sat on the floor, lounged in a lazy-boy and were able to play the game easily. I loved getting away from the kitchen table too (because those chairs can seem pretty hard after sitting there for an hour or so).
The questions were not too difficult as most seem to be general knowledge. But that made it more fun as a lot of the game revolves around being the fastest to "buzz in" with the right answer using your individual remote control. Not everyone knew every answer, but for the most part we were all on equal ground.
I think that this game could be played by kids as young as 10 (playing with a group of kids around the same age and knowledge level to make it more even). I know the adults I was playing with had a great time and found the game easy to play right out of the box.
This is now one of my favorite games and I look forward to playing it with family and friends over the holidays. Lots of fun, a great way to socialize, and getting away from the table is a nice way to play. I highly recommend this game!

My five year old grandaughter is having lots of fun with this game. I ordered it for her birthday. Her mother finds the educational material an excellent reinforcement for what she is learning at school. She likes its versatility. My grandaughter enjoys it most when she connects it to the computer.

Purchased these cards for my grandma. I can remember these cards when I went to play bingo with my grandma in the 1980's. Now they used paper cards. Figured my grandma would be excited to see the old wooden cards.
Box came, I expected a few cards, the description says ( package of 10), but they only sent one! Somewhat disappointed in that..

V Tech - V.Smile Smart keyboard Review

V Tech - V.Smile Smart keyboard

I bought this keyboard for my 5 yr. old grandson. He knows his letters and letter sounds very well. I thought this could be a good learning tool and the next step in his learning process. This would be OK for a 7 or 8 yr. old but at five it is just tedious for him. The games also dont give clear directions. The age range os decieving. It is just too complicated for a child that cant read fairly well. He has been playing his V Smile for 2 years and loves it. He has both the pocket version and the regular one. This would be a 5 star for an older child. Ill exchange it for something else.

Presto Change-O Review

Perfect for someone practicing money skills! I'm a Special Ed. teacher and bought this game last year for one of my math classes to make learning about money more exciting. This game worked out great! The kids seemed to really enjoy playing and they were reinforcing their money exchange skills at the same time. This game is similar to Monopoly, only each player is expected to make change without going over a set limit of coins that they are allowed. This game is challenging enough to keep interest and fun to play with two or more people.

Play TV SSX Snowboarder Review

Play TV SSX Snowboarder

This game is amazingly addictive. It was a whole-family Christmas gift and was the hit of the season. Everybody took a turn and most of us spent many hours on it over the week. It provides a lot of fun not only for the rider, but for all others who watch and cheer along. From the 4-year-olds to the grandparents, all had a blast.
The game is pretty simple, the hard part is learning how to work the controller and pull off tricks. Its one of those things that's easy to get started, but hard to master. There are a number of courses and three characters to keep things interesting. We mostly did the half-pipe which seemed to be the most fun.
This thing is built, as they say, like a tank. You use your back foot to control turns and you lean forward/backward to control your speed. The weight rating is something like 240 or 280 -- we had a number of grown-ups that pounded on it, with one in particular that jumped on the board like a maniac. It really was impressive that it didn't just crumble to bits under the punishment. (You can imagine the enteretainment that provides.)
This is a great game for groups to gather round and have some fun. Its also a whole lot more active than your typical console or pc game. You can certainly work up a sweat playing. Get this game, get on and give it a chance. It takes a while to learn how to control the board, but you can do it, and once you do, you really get hooked.

Split Second Review

Split Second
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We've owned this game for many years. It's a real favorite for us. It's for up to 6 people. It's trivia type questions, but the strategy is different because all the answers are letters/abbreviations or numbers, where whoever is closest and first gets the point. And it's whoever's paddle slaps to the middle first, but you could be last but "most" correct. Because someone usually gets a point, the game moves along and when we have company even people who dislike trivia will have a great time. I should say sometimes the rubber bands that flip the paddles wear out, and at different rates. Hasn't bothered us any, and we hardly ever replace them. But some people may get annoyed. You just replace them with regular rubber bands
Our other favorite part of the game is the personal questions, of which there are usually one or two per card. For example, "how many times have I..." whatever the question is. That way you learn about the other players. We don't always get out games for company, but when we do this one often tops the list because it's easy to play, fairly fast, personal and has the right blend of knowledge and laughs/stories.
The only thing we'd like to see is an updated version. The version we have has some questions that are no longer true.
Highly recommend just the same.

The American Girls Game: Trivia, Trade, and A Trip Through Time (American Girls Collection Sidelines)

I enjoy this game very much, but the reason I marked it 4 stars is because it's quite long, and near the end, it can get a little bit boring. I marked the Education 2 because even though the AG characters come from history, the game doesn't.To win, you must go home with 25 points (which you earn by answering the trivia cards right, Q# 1 gives you one point and etc. up to 3.) and at least three matches, which you can make with the trade cards you draw at every turn. You roll 2 dice to go through the game.

Optimum Fulfillment M & M's Twin Pack Review

Optimum Fulfillment M and M's Twin Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Since no one's written a review yet, I'll give my limited experience of it.
It was sent in a padded envelope, and it arrived dented (the top surface got pushed down, and it left a dent that I can't push out). The tin is really quite cheap and thin. Since I bought this as a keepsake item, I was disappointed. But, after looking it over several times, I realize the decoration of the tin isn't really meant to be collectible. So, it is what it is - a place to keep the cards. If your kids are going to beat it up anyway, then you have no worries.
I haven't opened the playing cards, so I can't say if they are quality cards, or thin cheapies. I suspect the latter, which may be why I haven't opened them (putting off the disappointment).
The price seems to me just about average for two new decks of playing cards, so I guess they're meant to be played with and enjoyed. If that's what you're after, go for it. (Perhaps someone who has actually opened the cards will post more pictures of them). If you're after a collectible, think three times about what you'll get, then ask the seller to send it in a cardboard box.
12/16/08 Update: I paid $10 for this set, plus $6.99 shipping. The price seems to have increased quite a bit since then...
Also, I've opened the cards, and they are fairly thick and very very glossy. Not bad quality. But, only the face cards (and the Ace I think) have m&m's characters on them. The rest are plain regular cards.

The Price is Right Game; 1998 Edition Review

The Price is Right Game; 1998 Edition
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
"The Price is Right" has lasted for nearly 30 years on CBS because it's fun to watch other people win stuff. Especially when they act foolish doing it. You lose that part of the game when you play at home. You also get the anti-climactic finish of not actually winning anything. But, it's a nice diversion from time to time. For the game show home game collector, this is a must. For the rest of you... probably not.

Star Wars Clone Wars Plug N Play Game Review

Star Wars Clone Wars Plug N Play Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a great toy for a 4-5 year old boy/girl in that it doesnt require a lot of strategy, just point and shoot. The gun seemed to work well with our tv's and its easy to set up and play within a minute. Only downside is it is a bit repetitive and though it claims to have 10 levels its unlikely a younger kid will be able to get beyond the first unless they have the gun right up against the screen. So they will likely start at level one and get 4-5 minutes in before dying and doing it over and over. I got this on Amazon for $25, its worth that but not the full retail which I believe was closer to $45.

This "chutes and ladders" type game is just the thing for my Wizard of Oz crazy 3 year old. It's great counting practice and great for learning basic board game rules. She's not quite patient enough yet to finish but it's fun watching her go farther every game.

Whether you choose to be Dorothy, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man, or the Scarecrow, you can follow the yellow brick road--and hope to meet Glinda the Good Witch--in this simple board game based on the popular movie. Two to four players move along the 18-inch-square game board's yellow brick road and try to collect tokens representing the ruby slippers, a diploma, a medallion of courage, and a heart. The tokens and game pieces are made of cardboard, and the board is decorated with colored photographs from the movie. No reading is required. --Richard Farr

I bought this for an intelligent 15-year old relative. He tried and tried to open it for quite a while, and after he struggled long enough (without getting frustrated), several clues helped him figure it out how to open it.
Don't think it's just for teenagers, though. My thirty-something brother-in-law had the same experience the previous year.
This box definitely adds to any gift exchange where cash/check is involved.

I have really enjoyed this game with my friends. There is a lot of great mystery in the way it works. I would love to see an expansion for this that adds new places and people. It's equally as fun to play as Jessica as it is the Murderer.

One player is secretly and randomly chosen to be the murderer, the rest are detectives (Jessica Fletcher) trying to determine which player is the murderer. The murderer player wins if he/she can murder five witnesses and escape off of the game board before he/she is discovered. A detective player wins by being the first to correctly deduce the identity of the murderer, before the murderer escapes. Players mark which locations they have visited and in which order. This information, along with the living or dead status of the witnesses, is used by the detective players to deduce who is the murderer player.
