Like the lord of the rings chess set it's really more of a toy or furniture. Its poorly painted and really the choice of characters makes little sense. If you love super heroes this is the chess set for you. If you're a serious chess player this may not be for you.

Medieval Times III Theme Chessmen Review

(More customer reviews)Bought these chess pieces for my boyfriend for Christmas and he just loved them. If you're going to play chess, you have to have a medieval chess set. The only thing that keeps happening is that they get knocked over easily so I think the bases should be heavier. The workmanship is great but from behind, you can get the bishops mixed up with the pawns so I took a permanent marker and painted the back of the bishops head (helmet) black and it didn't take away from the painting that already exists. This was the perfect gift this year!

(More customer reviews)Monopoly Star Wars is another Monoploy game set like Marvel Super Heroes, The Simpsons's Tree House of Horror, NFL teams, Superman, James Bond and many others.
However, in this set, Boardwalk and Park Place is the Death Star (you get the idea)..You don't move a pewter pieced shoe or a Top Hat, you move a Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker. There still is Go, Free Parking and of course, Go to Jail like any other monopoly game. The houses and hotels are TIE fighters and X-wings. If you like the game of Monopoly, It is a twist of the game board..all that is missing is Han Solo saying, "Never tell me the ODDS!"
So, if you wanted to be a mini Emperior Trump mogal in the classic Star Wars universe (that is Star Wars, Empire and Jedi for the novices), Don't be an Ewok and buy this monopoly set for you and your little Jedis
And May the Force be with you always

The Muppet Show Deluxe Collector's Chess Set Review

(More customer reviews)OK, let's be honest. We're dealing with a chess set here. There is very little that you can do to mess it up. Some sets are fancier, but that's not what the manufacturers were going for here. Those of us who grew up with Sesame Street and the Muppets will love the nostalgic fun of playing chess with our favorite characters as the pieces. Of course, purists may scoff, but that's them taking themselves a bit too seriously. The only possible difficulty for some people might be remembering which character is what. Is the Swedish Chef a bishop or a rook? But that just means learning one or two associations (the knights are on horses, so no problem there), and you could say the same for sets costing hundreds of dollars (e.g., is Legalos a bishop or knight in the Lord of the Rings sets?).

It was sent in a padded envelope, and it arrived dented (the top surface got pushed down, and it left a dent that I can't push out). The tin is really quite cheap and thin. Since I bought this as a keepsake item, I was disappointed. But, after looking it over several times, I realize the decoration of the tin isn't really meant to be collectible. So, it is what it is - a place to keep the cards. If your kids are going to beat it up anyway, then you have no worries.
I haven't opened the playing cards, so I can't say if they are quality cards, or thin cheapies. I suspect the latter, which may be why I haven't opened them (putting off the disappointment).
The price seems to me just about average for two new decks of playing cards, so I guess they're meant to be played with and enjoyed. If that's what you're after, go for it. (Perhaps someone who has actually opened the cards will post more pictures of them). If you're after a collectible, think three times about what you'll get, then ask the seller to send it in a cardboard box.
12/16/08 Update: I paid $10 for this set, plus $6.99 shipping. The price seems to have increased quite a bit since then...
Also, I've opened the cards, and they are fairly thick and very very glossy. Not bad quality. But, only the face cards (and the Ace I think) have m&m's characters on them. The rest are plain regular cards.

(More customer reviews)This chess set was all that I expected and more, what's more important is that my boyfriend that collects Dragons totally went bonkers over it when he seen it. I purchased this for his 40th birthday, and he has played it every night since he got it. I was pleasantly pleased with the detail work on this piece. Just wish the board and pieces were a little larger but other than that it is and was an awesome birthday gift, and well worth the money.

(More customer reviews)Clue was the first super-nintendo game I ever bought. Personally, I happen to like this version very much. The computer players are reasonably intelligent, which I like. Secondly, it's a lot easier to click on computer players than it is to beg friends to play the board game. Also, cheating is much harder to do. And there is a new feature, the interrogation, which I think is very interesting. I was sad to see that feature later dropped from future editions (The computer versions, I mean). This game isn't quite as sophisticated as those new versions, I conceed, but it is quite fun and I've enjoyed playing it for a long time.

(More customer reviews)Wow! I purchased this set so that my young children could learn about chess in a fun way. The pieces are GREAT for toddlers and preschoolers to handle and "become" the game of chess. My children learned quickly the names of each piece and how the move along the board.
They are great (no small pieces for the mouth) for learning and interacting with chess and take it from "boring" to exciting. I would invest again in this set, as I see it can continue to be fun as my children get older. The larger than life pieces help make the game come alive for me as well.

(More customer reviews)i just received this game a few days ago and i love it. loved the muppets from when i was a little girl. i played it recently with my 81 year old grandpa and he kicked my 30 year butt! :)
then i played it with my cousins who are 10 (first time playing monopoly ever) and they picked it up very quickly. i gave them my plain old version! my only complaint is that the pieces look a lot alike. other than that... very cute.
