Halloween Jenga Review

Halloween Jenga
Average Reviews:

This game is simple, durable (you could probably back your car over it and it would still work), and helps develop coordination and intuition about how blocks balance. The die has Halloween icons that correspond to special instructions not found in standard Jenga. This adds a twist to games with three or more players.

Trick or treat with Halloween Jenga. Build your tower with orange and black blocks. As the tower builds so does the difficulty. Custom Halloween Jenga rules and a special glow-in-the-dark die make the game even more challenging and fun! Roll the die and you are in for a trick or treat. Roll a "Haunted House" and reverse the direction of play; roll a" Spider" and you get to remove any piece and rolling a "Bat" means you remove only a black block. The last player to remove a block without tumbling the tower wins the game. Game comes complete with 54 Halloween-themed hard wood Jenga blocks, 1 custom glow-in-the-dark die, custom Halloween rules and a loading tray for assembly. It?s Halloween Jenga, for a frightening festival of fun!

How to Host a Murder: The Wall Street Scandal Review

How to Host a Murder: The Wall Street Scandal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We have played three of these murder mysteries now. This one was the least entertaining. The story was not as well developed as in the others. The information for each round was not complex enough to generate a lot of enjoyable discussion. The setting was not as exotic. If you are looking to play one of these games, I recommend the "Tragical Mystery Tour", with a hippie theme, in the same series.
As for educational value and durability, that's not really the point of any of these murder mysteries. The themes are mature, and they are targeted for adults, who want escapism not education. There is no durability, as they can be played one time, after which the murder is solved and the mystery is over.

I have been an X-men fan for more years than I care to admit to. I wasn't crazy about yet another X-men product until I realized that it was based on the comics rather than the movie. All the representations in the game are what I remember from the old comics. I love it.

Cardboard Treasure Chest Box (1/PKG) Review

Cardboard Treasure Chest Box (1/PKG)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got one of these from my sister, who used them at her museum for children's projects. I use mine to hold all of my sewing patterns...it's a great little box and even though it's only cardboard, it's very sturdy. I've had mine for years and used it often and only now is it worn out, after being used as a scratching post by my cats.
It's a cute little box to hold small items, prizes and toys in, or just as a nice theme decoration for a pirate party for your child, or to hold candy for trick-or-treaters at Halloween. It's of a good medium size, enough to hold maybe thirty full-size magazines in it.
Bear in mind that it IS cardboard, so probably not suited for daily rough handling by very small children, like in a preschool setting. But for older kids or for adults who like the whimsical design, it's a nice box for storage!

i just received this game a few days ago and i love it. loved the muppets from when i was a little girl. i played it recently with my 81 year old grandpa and he kicked my 30 year butt! :)
then i played it with my cousins who are 10 (first time playing monopoly ever) and they picked it up very quickly. i gave them my plain old version! my only complaint is that the pieces look a lot alike. other than that... very cute.

How to Host a Murder: The Last Train from Paris Review

How to Host a Murder: The Last Train from Paris
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ok, I'm going to explain in brief if you are not familiar with this game, but if you've done this before, skip down to the next paragraph. Basically, 4 males and 4 females (you can reverse roles, it isn't very restrictive) get together one night, and a murder have been committed (usually the imaginery host that invited the guests is killed.) Now the 8 players will try to figure out who done the horrible crime. Each person has a manual that gives out clues and with them you try to figure out who's the guilty one by conversation. Usually dinner is served and the whole game is actually pretty involved, mine takes about 4-5 hours.
Alright, enough ranting, lets discuss why you would want to buy this game. Again, if you have experienced this before, you know that this is a lot of fun, its a good way to spend a few hours with 7 of your friends. This is all about interactions, and so you get to see how your friends react when pressed and how well they can persuade others to believe their arguments. Game is very innovative, from costumes to preparing dinner to the story and the solution, I wouldn't say this game is educational, but it does help one to think deductively and inductively, it practices one to be observant and to ask questions. There is a lot to this game and this episode is one of my favorite. Treat yourself to a night of fun and intrigue, and as a suggestion to newcomers, try the first few episodes, they are relatively easy and quick to solve, helps you to get the hang of this game.

Goth Trivia Board Game Review

Goth Trivia Board Game
Average Reviews:

It was a nice idea, and the box is very pretty.
Unfortunately the name of the game bears no relation to the subject matter of a good proportion of the questions set. Someone seemed to have a real obsession with 'gansta rappers' and thought that anyone who had been killed was obviously 'goth' even if there was no corrolation whatsoever.
Because of this I think their markets are going to be severely mismatched - the people who buy this game are going to have no interest in half the questions and those who would have been interested in the questions won't pick up the game in the first place.
A real shame - not least because now no-one else can do the job properly, because the name has already been associated with this missed opportunity.

Boo-opoly Review

Boo-opoly
Average Reviews:

The Boo-opoly game is one our grandkids love to play as Halloween approaches. We bought the game last year along with the I Spy Spooky Night Search and Find Book as Halloween entertainment. They like creeping around the board trying to collect enough Haunted Houses to be able to trade them for a Full Moon Hotel. Winning a pumpkin carving contest is a treat while having to pay Fright Fees and having Bats in your Belfry are tricks nobody wants to win. In a kid's Trick or Treat world both the game and the book are definitely 'enjoyable treats' and, surprisingly, 'monstrously entertaining' for all ages. ~ Mrs. B

Boooo-opoly, It's Creepy! It's Ghoulish! It's a scream. Boooo-opoly is a classic property trading game made for celebrating Halloween. Players buy favorite Halloween properties, collect haunted houses and trade them in for full Moons. Sounds easy enough, but add fright fees, bats in your belfry, or get caught soaping windows and it becomes a little more difficult and a lot more fun. You may win the Jack-o-lantern carving contest or eating Slimy Spider Tacos at the Monster Mash. Whatever happens, it's going to be frighteningly fun. For 2 to 6 players, ages 8 and up.

I just got this game for my birthday and I must admit I love this game. One im a Nightmare before Christmas fan and can beat the pants off anyone and Two there are some really interesting facts that I didnt know, There are 6 sides to the dye stuff like "christmas town, songs, trick or treat" and each has its own unique questions. Be warned some are really tough. My only set back and maybe its me is the size. The box is small but holds everything nicely. Theres not a lot of parts to this game which makes it great if you want to travel with it.
So all in all If your a Nightmare before Christmas fan get this game and if your not I would still recomand for parties. Its just a lot of fun.

Large Tumbling Tower Game with a Wooden Box (12 Inch) Review

Large Tumbling Tower Game with a Wooden Box (12 Inch)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I ordered the Large Tumbling Tower Game expecting the game pieces to be a lot larger (something I could use in my classroom for game time), but the game is more the size of a traditional "Jenga" type game. What I love about the game is the presentation/storage box, which makes game set-up and clean-up quick and easy. The game pieces are of fine quality with no rough edges to get splinters on, which is also a plus. Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase.

Murder Mystery Party - Pasta, Passion and Pistols Review

Murder Mystery Party - Pasta, Passion and Pistols
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the second murder mystery game we've played and while we had fun, we thought this one could have been better. The story line was fine, the menu was good, and the decorations were easy to make or buy. We had fun playing the game and we didn't think the mystery was unsolvable (even though only one person guessed correctly). We had a good time with our horrible accents and people did a good job with their costumes.
The part we were disappointed in was the "Extra Players" part. This game is actually for 6 players, even though it says you can invite 8. We invited 3 other couples to the party, and the couple that played the extra parts (Father Alfredo and Clair Voyant) felt very left out. They had very few lines, weren't suspects in the mystery, and their parts were pretty lame. I felt this game could have included them more if they had better parts, even if they still weren't suspects in the mystery. I would suggest that if you have friends who aren't likely to get into the game to give them the extra players' parts. They can easily sit by the wayside and not do much and still enjoy what the other players are doing.
Overall it was fun and I enjoyed the Italian/New York theme, but just keep in mind that it's really a game for 6.
