(More customer reviews)Monopoly Star Wars is another Monoploy game set like Marvel Super Heroes, The Simpsons's Tree House of Horror, NFL teams, Superman, James Bond and many others.
However, in this set, Boardwalk and Park Place is the Death Star (you get the idea)..You don't move a pewter pieced shoe or a Top Hat, you move a Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker. There still is Go, Free Parking and of course, Go to Jail like any other monopoly game. The houses and hotels are TIE fighters and X-wings. If you like the game of Monopoly, It is a twist of the game board..all that is missing is Han Solo saying, "Never tell me the ODDS!"
So, if you wanted to be a mini Emperior Trump mogal in the classic Star Wars universe (that is Star Wars, Empire and Jedi for the novices), Don't be an Ewok and buy this monopoly set for you and your little Jedis
And May the Force be with you always

Risk Star Wars The Clone Wars Edition Review

(More customer reviews)I really loved the Lord of the Rings Trilogy edition of Risk, and so I was looking forward to the Clone Wars edition. Physically, the game is about the same quality--overall pretty nice but I'm not crazy about the little plastic pieces, which seem even flimsier than the Trilogy game, and much more likely to tangle up together. But that's not a big issue. It's the gameplay.
First off, in a 4 player game, 2 players are good (Republic) and 2 are evil (Separatist), and you are not allowed to attack your own ally. (Gosh, there goes half the fun of Risk right there!) I've yet to come up with a strategy that lets the good side win. During the game, the Separatists have a one-time opportunity to invoke "Order 66". When this happens, each and every planet (territory) in the Republic is checked against a die roll, and a losing roll means the planet becomes Separatist. In every game I've played so far, this wipes out the Republic. Not only have you lost the territories themselves, but all their troops turn against you. It's maddening to be playing the Republic, building up for a great crushing attack and blip, here comes Order 66, bye bye lovely troops. Once issuing Order 66, the Separatists must then place the Emperor (a special piece) on a planet, where he must remain, and the Republic will automatically win the game if they take this planet. But I have yet to get the Republic to recover enough to strike at the Emperor.
The dark side just has too many advantages to make this game fun to play. In the LOTR Trilogy edition, evil starts out stronger, but with good strategy, good can still win. But I just can't figure out the strategy here to make things even.

(More customer reviews)I remember buying this when it came out in 1998 just to get my hands on the 2 exclusive Star Wars action figures, the same size as the other Kenner figures. It was a Han Solo in the Stormtrooper suit from the trash compactor, and Darth Vader with removable dome helmet. They both came with light sabers. As it turned out the game was fun after all, and kept us busy that summer.

(More customer reviews)My kids were so excited to get this game for Christmas. I remember playing Guess Who and I was equally excited to play this with them. I thought, how cool, we all love Star Wars, this is going to be great. Wow, was I wrong!
From the second you open the box, you can see this is not the same quality as the old edition of this game. You have to punch out all the pieces and assemble the game and when you do, you will be extremely frustrated because the plastic window pieces do not stay in place or easily slide open and closed. Unlike the old edition, where you could turn it on its side and all the pictures would open up, 90% of these stay closed and you have to force them open. When you do, the windows pop out of their holders. When you're playing, the windows don't close easily and pop out continuously as well. It's so frustrating for the kids to wait between each game while I spend time forcing all the windows back open.
The card stock with the pictures is low quality as well. They're smaller and get bent easier. This is a piece of junk. I e-mailed Milton Bradley with these complaints weeks ago and have not received a response. Apparently, the are laughing all the way to the bank. It looks like this cost them about 3 cents to produce and I paid $25 for this game.

Sorry Spin Review

(More customer reviews)I will review the two different components of this product - first the assemble, and then actual play.
1) Assembly is required. No tool are needed but you do have to align the cogs so they spin properly and make sure all tabs are clicked in place, or the spinning function will not work smoothly. It took me a total of 5 minutes to assemble the spinning board. I did have to take out a couple of the home zone parts and re-attach so the cogs aligned properly. I think if you get it right the first time and do it when your children are not around trying to "help", then it should easily be done in a couple minutes.
2) The play instructions are easy to understand and follow. There are colored pictures to aid in visualizing the explanation of the rules. The game is rated for Ages 6+ and that seems right on the mark where my kids were concerned. My 6 1/2 year old was able to sit and follow the structure of the game whereas my 3 yr old wanted to randomly move the pawns and spin the board like it was a merry-go-round.
Both kids did lose interest after about 15 minutes, as did I. I would recommend this game to play when you need to fill a short period of time or along with other games when playing for longer.
