The others were a bit 'boring' and had already been done in her 7th grade science class. So, I think it had a great price, but the manufactuer should have thought more carefully about what kids want in a set ... cool, fascinating, and fun. (More customer reviews)I bought this not being really sure what type of 'game' might be played with it, and basically just took it out of the box and left it out as decoration on a table. My kids, 5 and 7, consistently come back and start playing with it, moving the pieces around to make actual pictures or just patterns. The wood is smooth and nice to handle, very relaxing. This would make a very nice desk 'toy' for an office person too.

(More customer reviews)I played the game with my 8 yr old nephew and 5 yr old niece at Christmas and we loved it. The game doesn't have as many game cards as regular Uno, so it was easy for my niece to understand, but still fun for my nephew. The game features colored number cards, draw two cards, and 4 wild cards. We played the game competitively, though the 5 yr old layed all her cards on the floor face up and we helped her along. It was a great learning tool because she got to work on color and number recognition, and my nephew worked on his math skills adding up the points after each round. It was great fun and I've seen multiple versions of "My First Uno" with other characters. There's one out there for everyone! PS I found it for $4.99 at Walmart.

(More customer reviews)This product is a refined version of a beloved childhood game called Solar Quest. Whereas Solar Quest required you to take meticulous count of your fuel expenditure, Spaceopoly focuses more on the fun of exploring and building a financial empire of the planets and moons in our solar system, and it adds an exciting element of competition in creating a way for your to "blast" your competitors should their spaceship come to close. I played this version in college and it remains fun for adults as well as children. The "Mars Edition" celebrates the exploration on the Red Planet by recent robotic explorers and is educational in its requirement to know the names of moons of the various planets, some facts about them, and stimulates the imagination through pretend exploration. You can't place houses or motels on your "properties" in Spaceopoly, but there is financial incentive to require all the moons of a planet, and the tendancy to get "stuck in orbit" around a world can make your competitors pay the price if you've been fortunate/smart enough to invest in a certain series or worlds. This is a great game for anyone who enjoys Monoploly but different enough to entice those who don't. I'm very happy to see that it's still available.

OWI Rockit Robot Kit - Soldering Required Review

(More customer reviews)I reviewed a lot of robot kits for myself and my 10 y.o., and most seemed overpriced, uninteresting, or both. The Rockit, however, is clever and well thought-out. A robot that responds to sound as opposed to light or touch is innovative, including the clever reverse-and-turn mechanism used here (if you care to search there is a hobby website with video of the robot in action). The kit involves is a significant amount of soldering, perhaps 25 components, but does about the best job of helping you match components to circuit board that I have ever seen. Consider the slightly more expensive prebuilt board version if you are not comfortable with soldering. The plastic pieces are tricky to assemble, mostly to figure out which piece does what in the somewhat strange design, and aligning the drivetrain is finicky. Allow a couple hours and a reasonable amount of patience to build it.
The result is impressive, even more so for the price. I recommend this without hesitation and will consider other products of this company more closely.

Considering she already has logged in hours of use with the Pretend and Play School Kit, I wasn't too surprised. When it arrived she proudly set up shop, and with a few willing "customers" from time to time, she's managing to get as much use out of this toy too. The quality of the product is great - very sturdy. It folds up nicely too for on the go entertainment.
I've seen it in other stores for much more. At this price we couldn't pass it up!
We recommend this product for hours of imaginative play.

It is a SUPER game. In fact it would be a great first game for a child. the game board is a big foam 5 piece "puzzle" that fits together. It has nice big space for the active kids who are always moving around. Easy to move pieces (the spaces are big enough we routinely use little peoples or various toys as game pieces, which the kids love!!!
It is an easy game, much like candy land and doesnt take long to play.

(More customer reviews)We bought this game for our daughter because she enjoys science. When we unwrapped it however we saw that there were definite problems with the game. The "operating table" was a very flimsy plastic, but that would have been okay if we just used it gently. The problem came about when we attempted to play the game. The "guts" don't fit into the body without a LOT of setting, re-setting, re-re-setting, etc... they just don't fit where they're supposed to. This game just served to be extremely frustrating for all of us and our daughter didn't even want to finish the first game. This game is not appropriate for children (or adults for that matter) and we would strongly advise anyone thinking of purchasing it to save themselves the time, money, and frustration! The only fun part of the game was the true or false questions that we answered without bothering with the "guts".

(More customer reviews)Got on sale for my two-year-old. She loves it. Yes, I know the small pieces are a choking hazard. But she doesn't stick things in her mouth, and she only uses it under adult supervision.
It doesn't look like much, but my daughter gets a lot of play out of it. Daughter rearranges the pieces to make different abstract designs, on both sides of the board. She seems to just enjoy moving the pieces around. Seems to be good for stimulating creativity. Good car toy for older kids.

(More customer reviews)I ordered these for my 17 month old daughter, who was starting to display an interest in learning her alphabet and we both had gasps of delight in opening them. They are GORGEOUS in person and made of a really nice, lightweight, but durable material. I love how it includes both upper case, lower case, and a picture of a word starting with each letter. Only complaint, maybe a better case for the cards themselves, the case it comes in is a little clumsy.
