Bamboo Collection Magnetic Color Tiles, Colora Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this not being really sure what type of 'game' might be played with it, and basically just took it out of the box and left it out as decoration on a table. My kids, 5 and 7, consistently come back and start playing with it, moving the pieces around to make actual pictures or just patterns. The wood is smooth and nice to handle, very relaxing. This would make a very nice desk 'toy' for an office person too.

My Little Pony "Ponyville" Advent Calendar Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Bought this calendar for my daughter because son had Lego calendar and was trying to find a like "girl" calendar. The calendar was cute, but don't expect a lot of ponies - it comes with only 3, and the 3rd one was on the last day. Lots of hats, cups, shoes, plates, food and other accessory items the rest of the days. Overall it served its purpose and I was satisfied.

Isle of Lewis Chess Set - Unique Themed Chess Pieces Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This Isle of Lewis Chess Set (pieces and pawns) is an absolute treasure in my opinion. My decision to buy this product came down to the product description given by Amazon and the seller---how close to the originals these replicas are stated to be. I wanted something as close to the real thing as possible for a good price. I was not disappointed. These pieces and pawns exceeded my expectations. They are a nice size and weight; they stand nicely--no unevenness or wobbles. Each member of this set seems to have its own unique personality, which makes for an interesting study beyond chess playing. (I've uploaded some images for this product for you to view.) There is an antique, human-made feel about these objects that adds to their appeal. They are not TOO perfect---welcomed in today's world of machine-wrought multi-copies. One suggestion that I have is when they arrive, open the box and set them out for a while as the smell of their new finish can be quite potent, if you have a sensitive nose.. I suppose the finish aroma is probably from being packed and shipped.:) // My favorite piece is the Maple King. More than a game item, he's an fine bit of art with his detailed, bearded face and his regal throne. The Ivory King seems a bit chubbier and younger in his little persona. The chess set would make an exciting classroom addition. You could build whole lessons about observation, strategy, and critical thinking with them. This set would also make a great graduation and / or Christmas gift. The vinyl board allows you to play of course; however, once you see these chessmen, you'll want one of those nice boards to compliment them. Do a bit of searching on Amazon to see the boards available. // Yes, Harry Potter fans will find this set intriguing as well, but remember this set is purely Muggle...no magic other than that of your own imagination and perhaps, chess skills! LOL

Bob the Builder Memory Game Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My son received this for Christmas (he is not quite 3 years old). I line up all the cards face up and let him find the matches. He has learned to look at things closely and compare. As he gets older we'll turn them over and play how it was originally intended. Great for kids of many ages.

Bamboo Collection Speed Recognition Game, Rapido Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is a unique toy with an excellent concept. I use it at work with special needs kids. It is fast and fun and the kids love it. It is very educatioal, teaching pattern concepts and using lots of coordination skills. There are a few problems with it though. Some of the bamboo tubes, while eco-friendly and very PC have split. ( They would be better if made of PLASTIC.) The rope (which is like a corral) could be thicker; if you are not really careful the balls jump the rope and escape madly about the floor. And there are not nearly enough pattern cards and they are not really graded (for difficulty level) in any coherent way, so I had to make a dozen more of my own out of poster board.
Overall, a good toy though. Just make some more of your own patterns, and be prepared to chase balls across the floor.

Halex Soft Tip Accessory Kit Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)If you are new to darts, this is a good set to keep you going when the pieces of your darts inevitably break. The price is reasonable and the set covers all the things that wear out the fastest.
Now, having said that, I also have to say that, while I'm no dart shark, I HAVE developed a few preferences of my own and this kit doesn't really fill any of them. First of all, I'm not a huge fan of these tips (these flair out toward the shank. I'd provide a link to the type I like, but I get them at a local store...). Secondly, I prefer aluminum shafts since they are more durable. I also prefer spinner shafts because the flights last much longer. Speaking of flights, these are OK, but I tend to like the wider flights more.
Bottom line: if you haven't developed any dart preferences of your own yet, then this is a great little kit. If you already know what you like, then you probably don't need me to tell you if this is a good kit or not :)

Scrabble Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I love Scrabble and bought this item to replace an older set. I'd give it five stars, and it probably should still get five since the game is the same, but.... Here are my aesthetic 'issues' with this newer release of the flat board and wood tile version:
1) the playing area is not centered in the folding board; very displeasing
2) the tiles are made of lighter wood (pine instead of oak? I don't know my woods, but this one is light)
3) the tile trays are less rounded and more squared-off in profile (yes, this is very picky)
This game mas previously been produced by both Milton-Bradley and Shelchow & Righter, and both did a better job than Hasbro with this one. Consider the small travel version with a plastic grid and small, thick wood tiles -- even for home use, that's how disappointing this one is.
