Cranium Jam Pack Jam Game Review

Cranium Jam Pack Jam Game

I bought this toy as a gift for my 4 year old for him and his 6 year old brother to play. Well, the entire family got in on the action and it was lots of fun. The car is durable, but make sure you keep the enclosed bag for the cards and the items to pack or else.... Not a superior learning game but it does require some concentration and fine motor skills to pack all of the items in the trunk before time runs out. Overall, I would recommend this toy! It got lots of laughs on a rainy day.

Jam Pack Jam from the award-winning Cranium offers hours of explosive fun! Recommended for kids ages six and up, this high-energy game is a race against the clock as players attempt to pack the trunk of a toy car before it pops open. How to Play An interesting twist on high-intensity children's games, Jam Pack Jam is a cross between a 3-D puzzle and a beat-the-clock board game. It only takes two people to play -- but more can join in the fun. Unlike many games that aim at specific skill sets, this Cranium game creates positive excitement for all kids. The object of the game is simple -- to fit as many fun items as possible, of all shapes and sizes, into the trunk before time runs out. On each turn, players say the number of objects they think they can precariously pack. When time's up, the trunk shoots everything out the doors -- filling the room with laughter.Everything -- Even the Kitchen Sink With 14 hilarious objects you'd find in a cartoon, Jam Pack Jam includes a birthday cake, a cactus, a skateboard, even a kitchen sink. Made with durable plastic, the car and the trunk items are child-safe and can stand up to long hours of play -- and all the explosions! The game also comes with 35 cards and a score pad.About Cranium In 1998, Cranium quickly became the fastest selling independent board game in history. Since then, the Cranium company has developed numerous fun games and products for kids and adults that celebrate and engage a full range of everyone's natural abilities. As their motto goes, "With Cranium, everyone shines!"What's in the Box Cranium toy car, 14 toy items, 35 game cards, and score pad.

Rose Art Smart Easel Review

Rose Art Smart Easel

Well my daughter is a drawing nut. So I knew she would love this and so far she does. The drawbacks are the drawing board is pretty flexable. I was excited for the dry erase board since my daughter loves those things well I pull it out of the box and it's in 2 peices. You clip the board together and there is a line, bump right down the middle. So when you draw you go over a bump. It doesn't line up without having a lip on it. If I would have seen this in the pictures and video I would not have purchased this easel. To be honest I'm quite disappointed luckily she doesn't seem to annoyed with it yet!

The RoseArt Smart Easel provides a sturdy work surface, handy access to markers and materials, a dry erase board and a roll of paper that attaches to the easel to keep your young artist's creativity freely flowing. Intended for ages four and up, this kid-sized easel also features a lightweight, portable design so that it can easily be taken outdoors or on the road. This means that your little van Gogh can be out in the field painting sunflowers in no time, and that the whole easel can be compactly stowed away when not in use. Art Anytime, Anywhere After fairly simple assembly, which requires an adult but not any tools, the included 50-foot roll of butcher paper slips onto a bar at the top for an ongoing paper supply. Three plastic clips are included to hold the paper securely in place at the bottom. The Smart Easel also comes with eight washable markers (in classic rainbow colors plus versatile brown and black), so your young artist can get started right away. Two flaps swing out from the easel's sides, featuring mesh pockets and elastic pen holsters that are designed to hold a variety of coloring materials. The plastic paint tray at the bottom is the perfect size for small paint jars, wet brushes, glue or glitter. A large fabric under-tray at the base serves as a catch-all for finished artwork, at least until the refrigerator debut or hallway retrospective can be scheduled. When art time is over, or a new location for drawing is desired, the easel can be quickly washed down and folded up. The fabric side flaps, under-tray, and carrying bag are all made of washable materials, and the paint tray can be removed for cleaning or spills.Stray marks from the washable pens can be removed from most surfaces with warm water and mild soap. The easel's durable metal frame with plastic connecting pieces is 50 inches tall and has a sturdy 4-leg design. Weighing in at about 13 pounds, the easel is substantial enough to remain stable while in use, but light enough to be carried by an adult or older child. The set also includes a large bag with a handle and shoulder strap for easy transportation. Set-up and Organization Features A slight downside to the easel is its assembly process. Although the easel includes easy-to-read directions, and though the pieces themselves were easy to snap together without any tools, the set-up was a bit confusing and took about 30 minutes. Once assembled, the easel has an inviting appeal. The design of the side flaps definitely encourages tidiness. Plus, having all the supplies neatly on hand, and all the colors in full view, helps keep the creative momentum going. The thrill of having all that paper at your fingertips is also a great incentive to make more art. Another small downside is that the paint tray is a bit too narrow to hold a mason jar for cleaning brushes or to comfortably balance an open watercolor box. And while the tray's separate cup-shaped space is handy for preventing spills, it is also quite small -- about the size of one paint jar or a Dixie cup. And inconveniently, the easel doesn't come with any dry erase markers or erasers, which makes its whiteboard seem like an accident waiting to happen. However, even if the dry erase board gets permanently marked, it will still serve its main purpose as a sturdy work surface for the paper.Overall, the RoseArt Smart Easel inspires creativity in young artists-to-be, with an easy-to-clean, portable design that will keep parents pleased. What's in the Box Easel with dry erase board, side flaps, under-tray, paint tray, carrying bag, 50-foot paper roll, and 8 washable markers.

Fisher-Price Digital Arts & Crafts Studio Review

My daughter loves to create art, including computer art, so we got her this for her 5th birthday. We are really impressed by how much is in this system! I especially like the themes within features such as the backgrounds and stampers, and you can upload your own images as well.
Complaints: It does have some bugs. We have gotten into modes where it seems to respond to the prior command rather than the current one. For example, you click on one stamper and it applies the prior one, or you pick blue and it applies brown. That is quite frustrating but it only happens rarely. Also, the tablet takes a bit of getting used to. I've seen older kids really struggle with it. My daughter picked up on it right away but she has quite a bit of patience.
My daughter has explored many of the features and we have many more to go. I know this will be an enjoyable system for her for a long time. It will adjust with her abilities.

Monopoly Tropical Tycoon Game Review

Monopoly Tropical Tycoon Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My husband and I loved this game!! Besides the love of the tropical theme, it has different features that the original is missing. The biggest change is that it now uses a DVD instead of chance/community chest cards. All the properties are names of beaches, railroads are beach transportations, and utilites are solar power and wind power. The new tokens are the parrot, beach hat, scooter, cannon, flip flop, and sail boat. But enough about the pieces, lets talk game play.
The first thing you do is roll and the DVD will tell you which "job" you have (mayor, artist, surfer, developer, police chief)- each has their own bonus. Then you roll like you would normally- but if you look at one of the dies there is a TV picture on it. That means you choose the News Update on the DVD and stuff happen. There was a lot of decisions that the DVD asked of you that can effect the current player or somebody else. The game is much quicker due to some new rules (ie landing on Free Parking you can pick any unowned property and purchase it) and you can choose to develop tourist attractions(casino, pier, etc) instead of beach houses/resorts. These tourist properties can bring in some bucks too!
The bad news: The first kinda downer is that it is 3-5 players (which is hard on a couple like to play games together). Pieces looked a little cheap (plastic houses/hotels/piers etc and cardboard fortune pieces) hopefully they will last. Money tray still doesnt hold all the money options- not a big deal, just annoying. Some of the news update stuff is a little silly, but cute.
I felt like this was a fresh breath of air to a game that can feel pretty tedious after awhile. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys monopoly!

The Hasbro Monopoly Tropical Tycoon DVD Game puts a new and exotic spin on the classic game of Monopoly. It is just as fun and competitive as the original, but it adds a feature DVD and special new features for an even more exciting gaming experience. Recommended for ages 8 and up, and designed for 3 to 5 players, this game will have you rushing for pieces of real estate in a tropical paradise.Monopoly With a Tropical TwistMonopoly Tropical Tycoon is played with classic Monopoly rules: each player must invest in property, develop housing, and compete with the other players for control of the map. This time around, however, everything's been renovated with a vibrant tropical theme. The utilities, for example, are now solar and water power. The properties are beaches, forests, casinos, piers and the like. The tokens have also changed, and now include a parrot, sail boat, parrot and other tropical items. However, the changes aren't just cosmetic -- there have been some serious gameplay changes as well! The DVD adds a storyline and narrative to your game, immersing you completely in the tropical vibe. Community and chance cards are now given over the DVD, too. Each player is now given special abilities as well, depending on which "job" they have chosen at the beginning of the game. All these extra features makes the game even more fun and engaging than the original Monopoly.

Electronic Catch Phrase Music Edition Review

Electronic Catch Phrase Music Edition
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a fun variation of the Catch Phrase game that has been around for years. My family has enjoyed both the electronic and standard versions of this game.
This version asks users to guess song titles from the 60's on up. It gives you the song title and artist and you must get your team to say the song title without using any of the words from the title. It has a very fun added twist with the new "singing" rules. You can opt to play with the old standard rules, too. But for the new rules, you must get your team to 15 points (instead of 10) and you can get a bonus point when you win a round if someone on your team sang their clues. You're never required to sing, but you'll find yourself compelled to do so if you are competitive and that makes the game a lot more fun.
One minor annoyance is the electronic display width. It is too narrow for some of the long song titles. If you're unlucky enough to get a long title you'll have to sit there for a few extra seconds waiting/deciphering the words while they scroll across across the screen.
Another annoying problem we encountered was the game automatically shut itself off after being inactive for several minutes. We were in the middle of game and took a snack break and the game shut off and lost our scores.
Despite that, I would still highly recommend this game because it is so much fun if it didn't also have a fatal flaw. Repeats. After just a couple of games played we started encountering repeated song titles! We thought at first it was an aberration, but not even close. We scrolled through 10-20 songs just to find new ones that we hadn't played already in the hour or so we'd been playing. Then we would hit new titles for a while only to find a short time later the same problem!
It is not as if we went through thousands of songs before this happened. I think the first time we had probably been through about 50-100 songs when the first repeats hit. We were playing on the combined category settings (instead of one particular era it was giving us songs from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's). I suspect that is how most people will play it so to have this bug in the electronic game is just inexcusable. I'm sure we likely went through a small percentage of the songs stored in the games memory. Too bad the game comes to a screeching halt with this horrible bug. The game is a riot until the party comes crashing down once the repeats hit after a couple rounds.

There is no better party game for music lovers than Hasbro Electronic Catch Phrase: Music Edition. Recommended for ages 12 and up, this game grills you on music of all genres from the past four decades, forcing you to rack your brain for every bit of musical knowledge that you have. A Thrilling Musical Quiz Electronic Catch Phrase: Music Edition is essentially a high-speed musical quiz, except that you're the one giving the clues. Just like classic Electronic Catch Phrase, you've got to grab it, guess it and pass it on before you get buzzed. When it is your turn, the electronic display will give you a song or musically themed phrase that you will have to describe to your teammates. It is your teammates' objective to guess the word or song, so you'll have to think on your feet and provide the best possible clues. Do whatever it takes: shout out clues, ask questions, quote lyrics, or hum the melody. You can even score additional points by singing the song's lyrics. Once your team has guessed correctly, pass the electronic display to the next person before you get buzzed.Endless Party Fun The ideal party game, Electronic Catch Phrase: Music Edition features a seemingly limitless amount of content. The clues are diverse, chosen from the '70s, '80s, '90s, and 2000s and covering many pop genres, including classic rock, hip-hop/R&B, country, and oldies. The topics range from well-known to obscure, so there is something here to please people of all skill levels. To make things easier, the game has an intuitive electronic interface. Easy to operate, the electronic display has a built-in timer, buzzer, and scorekeeper, which eliminates the need for messy manual scoring. The display screen is brightly backlit, so you can clearly see it even in the dark. All in all, it's a great way to have fun at any social gathering.

Heroscape Swarm of the Marro Game Set Review

Heroscape Swarm of the Marro Game Set
Average Reviews:

Okay, so after over a year of expansion packs, new scenarios, your occasional castle/terrain expansion, Heroscape ups the ante again.
At first I was leary of this master set, as it features significantly less units than the original but for the same price. But hey, I figure, the game hasn't let me down so far, so I went for it. Boy was I _not_ sorry!
This Master set is truly a massive expansion to the original game, and if you don't have any heroscape yet, a great standalone product too. unlike previous expansions, this new set features an actual 3 scenario campaign, complete with a story line. Wow. The game universe is actually solidifying and it should help the series last that much longer.
I was extremely pleased with the units this set contained, and even though it contained 2 of the same heroes from the original master set, their abilities have been updated and they are much more usable/balanced. The game is truly getting better as time goes by. If you are a heroscacpe fan, or a table-top gaming fan in general, I would definitely recommend this master set.
The only con I have with it is the same as with any big boxed heroscape set, you can't get the pieces back in after you take them out and will be forced to find an alternative method of storing them (which is okay with me as I have so many expansion sets now storing them in their boxes would take forever to get them out)

Imagine the greatest battle of all time taking place on a battlefield you design. Recommended for ages eight and older, Heroscape Master Set 2: Swarm of the Marro entails an interlocking 3-D battlefield, miniature warriors, and strategic game play. On the Battlefield This build-and-battle game set includes 24 beautifully painted miniature warriors and 75 interlocking terrain pieces. There are swamp, water, rock, and land tiles to create and customize your own battlefield. An instruction booklet is provided to help you form the terrain. The pieces click easily into place and the landscape is limited only by your imagination. After you construct the terrain, it is time to form your army with warriors, aliens, acid, drones, and stingers, each with their own strengths. If parents wish to add to the set, expansion packs are available for purchase. Basic Game Play For years, the Marro have been summoned to Valhalla. Rumors are spreading that a hive of Marro predators is hidden deep within the jungle. Heroes unite to stop them from contaminating the world. The object of Heroscape is to create your own battlefield, choose your army, and war against your opponent for the land of Valhalla. Players alternate turns until the game ends. On your turn, you'll complete three actions, using dice and army cards. Strategy comes into play as you choose the best possible army card, which depends on the location of your figures and your victory objective. Kids can use one of the nine provided games or create their own.Battle Test Following the success of the original, Heroscape Master Set Two is likely to please any child into strategic gaming. Nine game scenarios are provided and kids can even create their own game. All intricately detailed and nicely painted, the miniature monsters have unique powers and background stories. Each game scenario encourages imagination and enhances strategic thinking. However, game play and setup is relatively complex and perhaps better suited for older or advanced children. It also comes with many small pieces, which could be hazardous to toddlers or infants. Despite these minor setbacks, Heroscape Master Set Two is as enjoyable as its predecessor. What's in the Box One hive and base, 24 painted figures, 75 terrain pieces, regulation marker, 20-sided die, 12 combat dice, 13 army cards, 16 order markers, and rules

Mattel High School Musical DVD Board Game 2 Review

Mattel High School Musical DVD Board Game 2
Average Reviews:

HSM 2 fans will love this game. The Dance category is hard, since they show the dance clip, and you choose the correct sequence, but the 3 stationary pictures in each sequence choice often look very similar. It IS an improvement over HSM 1's dance category, where all they did was list the next dance move in sequence...I still have no idea what some of those moves are called.
The HSM 1 game had an extra where the 'gang' would teach the dance moves to 2-3 of the songs...that alone was worth getting the game. Unfortunately, this one doesn't. What it DOES have, however, are interviews with the HSM 2 characters talking about their time on the set, recounting little stories. This happens randomly during the game, and is an interesting diversion. I like 'Fulton' as narrator better than the drama teacher from the first movie. The game format is slightly different than HSM 1, but the basics are the same. You do have to work the remote more in this game than HSM 1. Definitely worth it for the HSM 2 tweener in your life.

Get ready for a whacky good time. My grandson loves to play this game. It's four feet tall and bigger than he is which I think is part of it's charm. You'll love this game no matter what age you are...I'm 66 and he's 5. the fun is the same for both of us. It's "WHACKY."

Bring carnival excitement into your home with the Whac-A-Mole Tower game! Kids ages four through eight can test their strength as they send the pesky mole scurrying up the tower and compete in four games. Turn on the Fun At three feet tall when fully assembled, the Whac-A-Mole Tower is a miniature version of the popular carnival game. Featuring goofy mole cartoons, electronic lights, bell sounds, and automatic scoring, this toy is just as enticing as the real thing. Kids can choose from four different games and multiple players can join in the fun. Once the three-piece hinged tower is built, kids press the yellow arrow key until they reach the game they want to play, then press the green check mark. When the game is announced, it's time to grab the mallet and whack that mole! Although the Whac-A-Mole Tower is easy to set up and loads of fun, there are a few minor design flaws. The tower is constructed out of plastic and our testers weren't completely sure it could hold out against relentless mallet pounding. Also, the cardboard sign on the bell comes tumbling to the ground at the slightest touch. But unless your child is a pint-sized version of Thor, the Whac-A-Mole Tower should withstand rough child play. Play It With four different games to choose from, the Whac-A-Mole Tower offers endless mole-whacking amusement. When playing hammer time, kids try to light up all nine zones in the fastest time. In lights out, players send the mole up the tower to turn off the lights and the game ends when all five areas light up at once. Hit 100 is a game of a different sort, where players must score 100 points in the fastest time, and sometimes players have to send the sliding mole all the way to the top. In 0 to 60, kids compete in a head-to-head challenge and try to be the first to score 60 points. All games can be played with more than one player, so no one will be left out of the group. Testing the Tower Our testers decided to give the mole a whack and see if this toy is as fun as it looks. After a couple minutes spent taking out aggression on the bucktooth mole, it became obvious that this is the ideal kid's toy. Not only do the four games ignite friendly competition, simply trying to get the rodent all the way up the tower is a challenge. Once the tower is turned on, a fast-paced, distracting song plays through the game selection process and during game play. Despite a few minor design flaws, the Whac-A-Mole Tower gives kids the excitement they would find at a carnival, making this toy a great choice for families. This toy requires three C batteries (not included).Pros
Has four fun games for friendly competition
Easy to set up
All games allow multiple players
Cons
Sign at the top falls off easily
Song is loud and distracts from game play
Plastic construction might not hold up against rough play
What's in the Box 3-piece hinged tower with sliding mole, tower base, cardboard tower topper, mallet, and instructions.

I agree with the all of the previous viewers. I have had three different ones and I've had trouble with all of them. I believe the motor needs to be a heavy duty motor and there needs to be a way that you do not have to clean the belt every few hands. I have not been able to find new cards either. However, the game is fun and it would be nice if it could be improved to perform better. I do not understand how they can guarantee the product for two years when it won't work properly for 2 weeks. I suggest that if you have one that doesn't work, send it back because it does have a two year warranty. This is the only way they are going to find out that they need to improve it and replace the original ones.

UNO, America's No. 1-selling card game, has a whole new twist. You'll still encounter all the elements that make UNO so unpredictable and challenging, but add to that a motorized card launcher that shows no mercy and you've got UNO Attack. The object of the game is still to get rid of all your cards. The UNO command cards direct the game by telling players when to trade hands, discard, reverse the playing order, or skip a player. Beware the dreaded Hit command, though, as this translates into a game of Russian roulette. You never know when the card launcher is going to fire off a stream of UNO cards just for you! I bought this for my daughter's fourth birthday because I remembered similar big red blocks from my own kindergarten years. It has been her favorite present. She has built towers, beds for her stuffed animals, hurdles, set up a restaurant table and chairs for her dolls, and more. It's a classic toy, great for creative play.
I do wish it had more of the big red blocks; the vast majority are the small yellow ones. And you do have to assemble the blocks, which is not too difficult if you have two people to do it. It really takes more than two hands.

This 40-piece set takes the blah out of blocks, especially for kids who create best with lots of pieces, lots of color, and lots of space. A staple item in many preschools, this set can spark endless imaginative play as children build large, life-size structures. Kids will find plenty of ways to construct forts, bridges, walls, chairs, and more with the easy to assemble pieces. Three different size blocks offer a strong building foundation as well as a starting point for kids to conceptualize math (one large red block is the same size as two medium blue blocks or four small yellow blocks, adding blocks, counting blocks, etc.). The blocks also help develop large motor skills and teamwork.

Made from heavy grade cardboard, these blocks are lightweight enough for small architects to lift and connect, but strong enough to support those same builders standing or sitting on them. Kids with a knack for construction and creative play will be enraptured by these bright red, yellow, and blue blocks for hours. The 40-piece set is made up of eight large red blocks (12" x 6" x 3"), eight medium blue blocks (6" x 6" x 3"), and 24 small yellow blocks (6" x 3" x 3").

Operation Rescue Unit Review

Operation Rescue Unit
Average Reviews:

I got this game for my 4 kids after some friends and I were talking about games we used to play as kids. I have 4 kids ages 4-10. When I first saw the rescue unit version of the game I thought it looks like a neat set up with the Dr's carrying case. If you're a parent like me you know how fast games go out the window because the younger ones lose small pieces... so I thought the case was a nice touch.
Even when you open the box you notice all the new parts like a time bar and a pump on the upper left hand side of the game. Also the construction is very durable and sits sold on the floor.
After putting in batteries we were ready to go. The look on the kid's faces was priceless. The setup looks so unconventional than any other game we play as a family. Within less than 5 minutes I read the rules and we got started. Unlike the old school version the rescue unit had all kinds of challenges! There is a timer that replicates the sound of a heart monitor. There's a pump you need to pump to keep the heart beat going on some challenges. All kinds of new fun variables to keep the game upbeat and interesting.
The sound of silence as each kid took their turn was so suspenseful! The outburst when the buzzer went off was so fun! When someone would complete some of the harder challenges we were all literally high 5 ing and all applauding. The whole experience was too much fun!!!!
I highly recommend this game to any family with more than 1 child or if you have a house hold with lots of kids coming and going. not only do you get the confidence of buying a time tested classic that offers educational value about learning parts of the body but you also get a guaranteed fun suspenseful gaming experience for the whole family.
If you have half as much as fun as we did then you'll be very satisfied!

Modern medicine has made many advances over the past years--and so has the Milton Bradley game of Operation. This updated version of the classic game still requires the skills of manual dexterity, mental concentration, and calm under pressure as you remove the ailments from the patient, Cavity Sam. But the new Operation Rescue Kit features four different game variations and a more advanced electronic system for even more excitement. Intended for ages six and up, Operation Rescue Kit allows each of the two to four players to set his or her own skill level for each game, which helps to level the playing field and make it a great game for all ages. Well-Designed Operation: Exciting to Play, Easy to Store Operation fans will recognize Cavity Sam, who has the same ruddy nose ready to buzz if you accidentally bump the tweezers against a niche's metal edge. Joining the ranks of the old "Funatomy" ailments like Funny Bone, Broken Heart, and Spare Ribs, the board also includes some updated woes such as Joystick Wrist and Texting Thumb for a total of 15 parts. The tweezers are conveniently connected to the frame and have a special slot to begin and end each turn. The 15 Doctor Cards picture the parts to be removed, and the games are easily selected by slipping one of four plastic "sliders" into the illuminated area at the top. The sliders help keep score, let you know whose turn it is, and add an exciting red-light-flashing urgency. A game can be ended at any time by simply removing the slider, and the winner's number will flash based on the points so far. When not in use, all the small parts can be neatly stowed in a built-in, snap-shut container on the board. In fact, the whole game folds up into a stylish First Aid-looking kit made of white durable plastic, featuring convenient indented carrying handles and two snap-shut latches to keep the pieces inside. To help save on batteries, the game automatically shuts off after one minute when the slider is removed, or after five minutes if the slider is left in place.4 Fun Games in 1: Trial Run of Operation Operation Rescue Kit is fairly simple to set up by using a Phillips-head screwdriver to open the back and inserting three AA batteries (not included). The instructions for each of the four games are straightforward, although younger players will probably need help the first time. The player number markers look like they fit on top of the game slider area, but they don't belong there and can be a little tricky to remove. The game's sound effects are very appealing, and include variations such as the heartbeat in "More Oxygen Please" and the siren in "Specialist Help" to keep it interesting. The games "Speed It Up" and "Rush Job" are played against the clock with penalties (but no loss of turn) from the buzzer. Players of the old version may miss the almost shocking buzzer and vibration, but young, modern players will probably appreciate the less daunting, gentler buzzer sound. Occasionally, the game didn't register slight bumps from the tweezers, making it more forgiving for younger players but perhaps a little less challenging for the more advanced. The carrying case works great--the Doctor Cards slide around a bit, but that's all. With the buzzer, the moving lights, and the sound effects, Operation Rescue Kit gets the adrenaline pumping and the players excited, and offers enough variation and level adjustments to keep players of all ages engaged. Pros
4-in-1 game design for continued fun and sustained interest
3 level settings adjustable for each player's age and skill
Game can be ended and winner displayed at any time
Easy storage and transport with built-in case
Cons
Tempting to put number markers in wrong place
Metal edge sometimes not sensitive to light bumps from tweezers
Nostalgic Operation players might miss old, scary buzzing
What's in the Box Patient board, connected tweezers, and built-in carrying case; 4 game sliders; 15 Funatomy ailment parts; 15 Doctor Cards, 4 turn markers; instruction booklet.

I was introduced to this game and had to have it. If you like Apples to Apples or In a Pickle or Bolderdash, you'll love this game. It is a left/right brain game. I particularly love this packaging. We took it on a flight and it was great because it's not noisy and is very easy to put away, or pull out quickly. The plastic box holds it all and closes!
Highly recommend! I hope the manufacturer comes out with an additional set of cards, for when we get to learn them all.

The Game of Life Twists & Turns Review

The Game of Life Twists and Turns
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Firstly, I would say that the age rating (9+) is appropriate for this game. We have played it several times and found it enjoyable each time.
How the game is played:
The lifepod and Visa DEBIT cards are a real addition to the game. I highlight the word debit because some people seem to be voicing their concerns that this game is Visa's way of getting children hooked on credit cards at a young age. I do not have a credit card, but I do have a debit card for several reasons, primarily because the world is becoming more electronic and sometimes you need a debit card (for example, ordering something off Amazon.) Another thing that may remove some worries is that there is a penalty for being in debt in the game. Every time you spin and you are in debt you get 10% of your total amount taken away. (In a way this discourages debt because you can easily lose the game this way.)
How the Game is Played:
One of the most fun features of this game is that all players do not have to take the same "Life path." There are 4 paths you can choose to start on (although you can move between all 4 throughout the game) learn it, earn it, live it, and love it.
The lifepod records everything (except for you occupation although it does keep your salary) and you have a "scorecard" which really functions only to have something to clip your "Occupation" card to.
We love the lifepod as it makes the game fun, less messy, and interesting. Each turn you put your visa debit card into the lifepod and press spin.
The goal of the game is to get the most life points. (Money, assets, children, homes, etc... are turned into lifepoints at the end of the game.)
Learn it is the area of the bored where you can get a degree and (if you desire) a PhD. Only about half of the careers actually require degrees.
Earn it is the area of the board where you have the opportunity to make money, buy cars and houses, and get promotions.
Love it is the area of the board focused on getting married and having children (and also buying cars and houses). (As a note you can ony have children if you are married even in adoptions).
Live it is focused primarily on adventure and earning life points.
Each turn you spin, collect your life points and then move your skateboard/car/sports car (whatever you have at the time) to the next space. On all 4 areas of the bored you have several crossroads you can choose to go down.
Even if you do not land on anything you still get to choose a LIFE card. Each LIFE card has 4 options (one for each area of the bored) and you follow what is said on your area.)
(Example:
Earn It: You find a wallet and return it to its owner. Collect a reward. +500 LIFE +$1000
Learn It: Fail your class in auto repair when you forget to put oil back in the car. -$10,000
Live It: You party with your favorite celebrity. +800 LIFE
Love It: You didn't see your cousin's car in the driveway and you ran into it when you backed out of the garage. -300 LIFE -$10,000.
The cards are pretty randomized although after a few turns the same things do start to reappear.
The way to win is by having the most LIFE points in the end. You choose the number of years you would like to play (I would recommend 10-20 or it gets boring) in the beginning. After the last spin you put your Visa debit cards back into the LifePod and it adds up all your life points.
Pros:
*Compared to the original Life game I have found this to be much more fun and more realistic. Not everyone chooses to get married and some people have 10 children but don't focus on careers... etc... It's more personal choices rather than just luck in this game
*The LifePod is brilliant (takes AA batteries, I use rechargeable ones for all my games.) It makes the game fun and easy to add everything up and keep score of everything
*This game seems to allure more interest from a more diverse group of players than the original board game
*2-4 Players, this is also a con, but as a pro it's fun to have some games that just 2 people can play, sometimes you don't always have a huge group
Cons:
*The biggest con I have found is with the careers. If you spend several turns focusing on earning a degree it should be more valuable than the "supermodel" who by chance (with no degree) wins the game by 5X the LIFE points. College degrees (and especially Phds should be like houses and add LIFE points every spin.
*Another con is not so much with the game as it is the idea of the game as well. It seems that American consumerism is extremely positive in this game. You can own up to 3 cars and 3 houses at the same time. Many of the cards say things such as "purchase a boat, +1000 LIFE points" while cards that read "Help your grandmother with her garden" only earn +100 points. The game seems to say that real life should be all about earning money, spending money, and all they toys you can accumulate on the way. Unfortunately in real life these things often leave people empty and lonely. While I don't see this being a big enough problem to keep me from playing the game, I am disappointed to see so much value put on material things and career advancement vs. relationships and education, especially in a family board game that would probably be purchased by families or friends trying to emphasize the value of relationships.
*2-4 players, while a pro this is also a con, I think this game would be better suited to have 2-6 players. While I can see playing on teams it could be frustrating (especially with middle school kids) if one wants to love it and the other earn it. :)
*It would also be nice if there was about double the LIFE cards as this game comes with. After a few plays the same LIFE scenarios come up again and can be a little repetitive.
Overall I would give this game a 4 star rating. Lots of fun, especially if you like the original LIFE, not too hard to understand, and entertaining for a pretty vast range of ages. Plus you can't complain when a board game can be played with as few as 2.

The Game of Life: Twists and Turns puts a new and modern spin on Hasbro's classic family board game. It is a game of choices, where players can "test drive" different lifestyles, take their chances and experience the twists and turns of real life. Jobs, money, marriage, children and all sorts of unexpected events -- just like real life, it's all here! Recommended for ages 8 and up, there are a thousand different ways to play this game, and no two games will ever be the same.Updating a ClassicLike the classic version of the Game of Life, the Game of Life: Twists and Turns is based around real-life events. You'll choose a profession at the beginning of the game, and roll the dice to progress along the board. As you progress, you'll encounter all sorts of real-life events (injected with a hefty dose of humor, of course), including marriage, houses, cars and family matters. You'll essentially live real life and make life-defining decisions, but without having to live with the consequences. However, Twists and Turns has a number of updates in store. Not only does it offer far more choices and possibilities than the original, it also has a number of new technical features that both longtime fans and newly-introduced players will appreciate greatly. The game now features a "LIFEPod," which helps players keep track of time and manage their careers, houses, cars and families with the touch of the button. The high-tech interface adds loads of fun to the game. The innovations don't stop there: each player now gets their very own Visa credit card, which they can use to spend. This not only puts a fresh modern twist on the game, but it also could possibly teach younger players about credit card responsibility at an early age. This gives educational value to an already quirky and fun game.

Monopoly Electronic Banking Edition Review

Monopoly Electronic Banking Edition
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
While this might at first appear like a gimic, Monopoly with electronic banking makes, setup, cleanup and playing so much easier.
No money to count out. Transactions are done through the well thought out banking calculator.
It's also a nice touch that the money has been increased to thousands and millions to account for inflation.
This might not be the choice for Monopoly purists, but it's a lot of fun.
The only pet peeve of mine is the board that is "split" to fold smaller. These are now used in most Monopoly sets and they just don't hold up as well as the traditional folding board and the split is an annoyance when playing.
Still this is a great Monopoly set.

The Monopoly Electronic Banking Edition game combines the best of classic Monopoly with updated electronic transactions. As with the original version, players still operate with money, learn real-world economics, competition and strategy, try to stay out of jail, and try their best to get filthy rich. But this version has been updated to reflect changes in how the real world uses money: All transactions are conducted with Monopoly's new banking card system. Anyone from age 8 and up will enjoy this updated version of one of the world's most famous games. Classic Fun with Modern Twists Aside from the electronic banking, the basic rules of this game have not changed from the Monopoly everybody remembers. Tokens, houses, hotels, chance and community chest cards, cardboard property deeds -- if you've played the classic version, you'll know how to play. The board is different in how it folds up in the box, but once you spread it out, it's the same. The tokens have changed to reflect today's culture. Instead of irons and racing cars, the tokens depict modern icons such as a Segway and a tin of Altoids. Instead of railroads, there are airports. The utilities are Internet service providers and cell phone services. Properties have also been updated -- from the upscale blue Times Square to the economy purple Texas Stadium. In this game, you can go to jail for identity theft or lose $1 million when a virus infects your computer network. And of course, property values are exponentially higher than in the original game. The big switch, of course, is the electronic banking. Each player starts with $15 million in their bank card account, and the banker adds amounts (such as when the player passes go) or subtracts (such as when the player pays to get out of jail) by inserting the player's card in the plus or minus slot of the Banker Unit. When one player has to pay another player, the banker debits or credits each account as appropriate.Monopoly for Right Now The electronic banking is neat and easy to handle, and as an added educational bonus, the player who takes on the banker role will quickly become familiar with basic bookkeeping concepts. The bank cards operate more like debit than credit, so players will learn responsible money management, not how to run up credit card debt. This version of Monopoly doesn't play significantly differently than the original. The game can still take hours to play, and the instructions offer several alternatives for those who want speedier play. The updates introduce a few elements of surprise along the way, but for the most part it's still the same great Monopoly that will provide the same kind of family fun with some surprising, up-to-date twists.Pros
Same basic game play, but with up-to-date references
Electronic banking works well, easy to learn
Teaches responsible money management
Fun for both kids and adults
Cons
Player customizations might not work with the new version
Updated references will eventually become out of date, too
What's in the Box Game board, electronic Banker Unit, 6 tokens, 28 title deed cards, 16 chance cards, 16 community chest cards, 6 Monopoly bank cards, 32 houses, 12 hotels, and 2 dice.
