LEGO Builder Xtreme Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this game for my 6 year old son who is not so great at assembling legos (yet) and both my 5 year old and 4 year old kids play it too. We have to help them assemble the figures (not tough for an older child) but the great thing about the game is it teaches strategy b/c not only do you have to travel around the board and obtain all your building pieces, but you need to try and do it in order and start the building process early on. You can also mess up somebody elses by taking a piece away (my husband and I always choose the piece in the middle). Very easy to play and understand, does take some time to lay out all the pieces on their pictures on the gameboard but WELL WORTH THE EFFORT. WARNING: DO NOT lose EVEN ONE piece or you will be out of luck!@! (unless you can cannibalize it from another set which we did and it worked fine...) Great buy (but I got mine at Tuesday morning for $7.99!!)

Fat Brain Toys Dado Planks Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)These colorful, inter-locking blocks induce creativity. We purchased them for our 4 year old daughter, but our 6 year-old son seems to be much more into them then she is right now - possibly the age. We have used them with our "CitiBlocks" to make some really cool/interesting structures, too.

Melissa & Doug 24 Pc Basic Cardboard Blocks Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Ordered for my son to work on motor coordination, we are really happy with the product. They fold down to flat boxes and though somewhat tedious to put together, they wind up extremely sturdy and toddler-damage resistant! Colorful and all-around in keeping with the brand's great products. ****Note that most of the boxes are the tiny size, some are medium, but only 4 are large shoe-box size. If ability to build a big structure is what you are after, you definitely need their bigger set.

Melissa & Doug Deluxe Jumbo Cardboard Blocks Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my daughter's fourth birthday because I remembered similar big red blocks from my own kindergarten years. It has been her favorite present. She has built towers, beds for her stuffed animals, hurdles, set up a restaurant table and chairs for her dolls, and more. It's a classic toy, great for creative play.
I do wish it had more of the big red blocks; the vast majority are the small yellow ones. And you do have to assemble the blocks, which is not too difficult if you have two people to do it. It really takes more than two hands.

This 40-piece set takes the blah out of blocks, especially for kids who create best with lots of pieces, lots of color, and lots of space. A staple item in many preschools, this set can spark endless imaginative play as children build large, life-size structures. Kids will find plenty of ways to construct forts, bridges, walls, chairs, and more with the easy to assemble pieces. Three different size blocks offer a strong building foundation as well as a starting point for kids to conceptualize math (one large red block is the same size as two medium blue blocks or four small yellow blocks, adding blocks, counting blocks, etc.). The blocks also help develop large motor skills and teamwork.

Made from heavy grade cardboard, these blocks are lightweight enough for small architects to lift and connect, but strong enough to support those same builders standing or sitting on them. Kids with a knack for construction and creative play will be enraptured by these bright red, yellow, and blue blocks for hours. The 40-piece set is made up of eight large red blocks (12" x 6" x 3"), eight medium blue blocks (6" x 6" x 3"), and 24 small yellow blocks (6" x 3" x 3").
