Shure - Wooden Alphabet Flash Cards Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I ordered these for my 17 month old daughter, who was starting to display an interest in learning her alphabet and we both had gasps of delight in opening them. They are GORGEOUS in person and made of a really nice, lightweight, but durable material. I love how it includes both upper case, lower case, and a picture of a word starting with each letter. Only complaint, maybe a better case for the cards themselves, the case it comes in is a little clumsy.

Around-the-Home Picture Words Flash Cards Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The main problem with these words is that the Spanish is listed right beneath the photo. I like the photos and the fact that the English and Spanish are on the reverse side, but there's no possibility to drill your students (or yourself!) because the answer is looking at you!
Home Picture Words, ISBN 1587920794, is better.

Leaping Lilypad Game Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My kids and I really had fun playing this game. It makes for some good quality time together, which most of us don't make time for anymore. We didn't get bored at all, in fact when my kids friends come over they always want to play it. So I don't understand the other reviews. We enjoyed that you can take a chance and keep going. I would recommend it highly!

Addition 0–12 (all facts) Flash Cards Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)As a third grade teacher, I recommend these flash cards for my students. I purchased these for use in my classroom. The cards have held up under heavy use. I recommended these to my students because they have the problem on one side and the same problem with the answer on the opposite side. The partner is seeing the same problem with the correct answer which helps them to learn the problem as well. This type of flash card works well with partner practice as well as whole group practice. I would highly recommend this product to parents as well as teachers.

Subtraction 0–12 (all facts) Flash Cards Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)It makes sense to only offer addition flash cards 0 to 9 (most sets go to 12). But subtraction flash cards really need to be 0 to 18. Trend recognizes this, but you have to purchase the 0 to 18 flash cards in two sets. This set covers 0 to 12. You can do a search: "Trend subtraction flash cards" to find the 13-18 set.
What I like about these flash cards is they are plain-vanilla. No frills, no color, one problem with the solution on the other side.
Every combination of problem is offered. While learning, I generally "group" my math facts by families....i.e. 9-7 on one card, and then 9-2 on the next. If my son or daughter gets stuck, I give them a hint by showing the next card. It works quite well to jog memory, and to assimilate family facts. Then, after a set of fact families are learned, I mix them up completely.

More Picture Words Flash Cards Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought the cards to encourage a two you old to speak. She understands everything you say and responds accordingly, but she was being a little lazy about speaking herself. She loves the cards and brings them to her twin brothers(they're seven)or myself several times a day to review. She gets excited every time we respond with great praise when she says a word. I've used my paint shop pro program to add a few cards with familiar family faces and names to her pile. After a few short weeks with these cards she's exceeded all expectations with her speech. She jabbers constantly now and her vocabulary continues to grow daily. I think she'll be reading before she's four.

Three-Corner Flash Cards – Addition & Subtraction Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)These cards are really neat, I hadn't seen them before but bought them for my granddaughter who is 2 years behind in school. We'll be using them a lot this summer to hopefully get her a basic idea of how math works. She's easily distracted and frustrated so these cards are nice because working in books and print gets too boring for her.
