Every parent should get this must-have item if they want to challenge their children's knowledge and association. My children have gained so much from this game...I see them making more and more association of things a daily basis.

Lots of fun by yourself or up to 6 people. Good sound and light effects, although these sometimes get annoying and time consuming. Educational for kids of any age, recommended for 8yrs and older. My kids were playing with their cousins' game and asked for one of their own for Christmas.

Kamisado Review

Kamisado
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Why have more people not yet heard of this great abstract strategy board game - Kamisado?! Fun, not just a brain-bender.
[A] One game takes about 10-18 minutes. Usually people play best 2-of-3.
[B] Base game rules are very simple.
[C] Elegant, clever concept.
[D] Visually appealing, albeit a bit busy.
HOW PLAYED:
A chess board has 64 squares, divided among two colors (white-ish and black-ish). Kamisado has 64 squares divided among eight colors, eight colors strategically located that look randomly located.
Both Kamisado players have eight pieces called "towers". One player gets the white towers, the other player gets the black towers. However...
...each white tower has a colored top. No two white towers have the same color for their tops. Crucially these top colors match the eight square colors! (Same situation for black towers, of course.)
Players alternate turns. Each turn is the movement of one the player's own towers.
Towers move forward only; never sideways nor backwards. Towers move only in straight lines, like a queen in chess (along columns or diagonals). Towers can move one or more squares per move, but towers can never jump any other piece.
THE TRICK: If White's tower lands on a green square, then for Black's turn Black must move the black tower that has the green top!! (Same restriction for White's turn, of course.)
THE GOAL: Simply advance any of your towers to your opponent's back row (empty) squares. Like getting a "king" in checkers.
The designer of this game, Peter John Burley, had a deep understanding of what he was doing when he designed this game. Leave the pieces in the box and study the board, lots of good reasoning went into it.
The type of strategy in this game is a fun kind for the human mind. At gatherings I find people prefer Kamisado over other great games such as Quoridor, Khet, Twixt, and Quarto.
How has such a great game remained mostly a secret unknown?

Kamisado is a game of pure skill and strategy! There are no dice, cards or any other chance element. It's just you against your opponent! The aim in each round is to be the first to get an octagonal 'dragon tower' to the opposite side of the board, by moving the towers in straight lines, either forwards or diagonally forwards. It sounds easy doesn't it, but the twist is that you can only move a tower if its color matches the color of the square that your opponent last moved to. Also, you will find that the routes you want to use are blocked by enemy towers (and sometimes your own!). As the game unfolds, your towers will be promoted to 'Sumos', and will have the ability to push your opponents pieces backwards, earning you extra turns. The situations continue to become more complex and challenging, until one player accumulates the required winning total and can be declared a 'Kamisado Grand Master' - until the next game!

Hummble Game Review

Hummble Game
Average Reviews:

I've had this game for about 8 years and am still bringing it to every party and every retreat I go to. It's hysterical to see how our really good singers (I'm in a Choir and other musical groups) can't get their tune recognized but our self-proclaimed tin ears somehow manage to. I hope they come out with some new cards soon though, I've been through mine now, and the "Contemporary" music category is a bit out-dated! Still, its a great, fun, party game.

You don't have to be Mozart to win this musical game! All you need is a love for music and the memories of your favorite songs. This party game is played in teams, like charades. Players may hum, whistle or act out the song titles. No singing allowed! There are 1,250 song titles to guess in five categories as players move along the game board path. The music categories are Broadway musicals, Folk & Family Favorites, Oldies, T.V. & Movies and Contemporary. Be the first team to reach the last Humm For All square and correctly identify the final song to win! A fun game for young and old alike! For two or more teams of two or more players. Comes with game board, song cards, die, four pawns and timer.

I have always been a big TriBond fan and have waited for years for a new version to come out. I was a bit intimidated when I saw Will Shortz name on because I stink at crossword puzzles. Once you start playing its alot of fun. There are several different categories of TriBond questions so many of them allow you to deduce the answer even if you dont know it right away. Great party game. Had lots of fun with a few couples. Highly recommend it!!

The game of TriBond starts with three seemingly unrelated clues. What do a car, a tree, and an elephant have in common? Would your team be able to guess that they all have trunks? Anything Goes Review

Anything Goes

I've played this twice in the last week I've owned it with family and friends. We laughed so hard and at the end, my friends actually thanked me for bringing such a great game to play. It's very easy to understand the rules are explained well and are short to read. It's kindof like a mixture of Balderdash Apples to Apples and Catch Phrase. You act out a silly "You're...While..." statement; then the other people write what they think you're acting out. The person acting out the statement awards 2 cards (various titles: Most exciting, weirdest, etc) after everyone has read what they thought the person was acting out. Great game to play!

Make - A - Monster Language Arts Test Prep Games - Grade 3 Review

Make - A - Monster Language Arts Test Prep Games - Grade 3
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I ordered this game for my tutoring practice. My younger students like it and think it is funny. :)
I only wish that the manufacturer would have given quality a higher priority. The monster pieces are thin cardboard coated with plastic. An arm got bent the very first game and that is only the first of many tweeks that will occur. They should have been made out of plastic.
Each monster piece and game card is coated with plastic. However it is not a good plastic, like on regular playing cards. It has a film that comes off on your fingers that is irritating to my skin . I had to wash off each piece and card with soap and water- very time consuming.
The stand that the monster attaches to is durable quality plastic with a wide base.

Pictionary Review

Pictionary
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Pictionary is a timeless classic without a doubt. The basic idea is to get your teammate(s) to guess what you are drawing before time runs out. You mostly take turns, but there are some "All Play" squares on the board and dice, and then it's a race against all the other teams for an extra turn. When you guess correctly, you move your playing piece around the board, and whichever team reaches the end first wins!
Whether you are an artist or not, you will love this game. The goofier the pictures, the more hilarious the game becomes. Older kids, teenagers, adults, everyone can play, and up to a fairly large group of people, too, because you are in teams. Unfortunately, I can't fully explain how much fun this game is, you just have to play it and you'll see. It's amazing!

Pictionary is the classic party game that plays like charades, only on paper. Instead of acting, you sketch clues to your teammates. But you don't have to be an artist to play. All that's needed is a little imagination and a fast pencil. This updated version contains the best words from previous Pictionary editions plus over 1,000 fun new words and expressions! For 3 or more players. Game includes: game board, die, timer, 324 cards (3,200 words), 4 pencils, 4 playing pieces, 4 pads of paper, card tray and instructions. Color of parts may vary.

Name Burst the Memory-jogging, Name-calling, Whos Who Game Review

Name Burst the Memory-jogging, Name-calling, Whos Who Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this game used. I got all the main parts and so there was no problem there. The main problem was the difficulty in describing some of these names to your partner. Names range from very easy to very obscure. Names from all walks of life are in here. Historical, political, literature, TV and movies, sports, and more. If you're good at remembering names and are a well rounded person with a wide range of knowledge, you'll do well in this game. If not, well . . .
The game is designed so that in each round, you get partnered with a different person, and you alternate giving and receiving clues. You have 60 seconds and there are 10 names on each card. This game plays basically like the "Pyramid" TV show. Only all the answers are famous names.
