These older versions are so much better than the new ones. While the topics are not current, the answers are reasonable. On the new versions, answers are repeated constantly.

Trivial Pursuit: 6th Edition Review

Trivial Pursuit: 6th Edition
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Sorry, but Volume 6 does NOT compare to the classic Genus and Genus II versions of this game. Rather, Volume 6 relies heavily on People Magazine-type trivia -- lots of inane pop culture-oriented questions, for which even die-hard trivia fans will be saying "Who cares?" An example of this is a question about Christina Ricci appearing in a GAP commercial. This was in the HISTORY category! Lame! About 40% of the questions seemed to fall into this category. Another 20-30% were ridiculously easy, a further 20% ridiculously obscure. The creators have also ditched the nuanced questioning style of the original game, by which one could often deduce the answer, even when it was something otherwise unknown.
I think the problem here is that TP is issuing too many versions in too short a period of time. Genus 5, which I DO like, came out fairly recently (I think), and I think TP needs to take some more time to write better questions. Part of the fun of TP has been that you learn from the questions you miss. With Volume 6, you just don't care.

Hummble Game Review

Hummble Game

I've had this game for about 8 years and am still bringing it to every party and every retreat I go to. It's hysterical to see how our really good singers (I'm in a Choir and other musical groups) can't get their tune recognized but our self-proclaimed tin ears somehow manage to. I hope they come out with some new cards soon though, I've been through mine now, and the "Contemporary" music category is a bit out-dated! Still, its a great, fun, party game.

You don't have to be Mozart to win this musical game! All you need is a love for music and the memories of your favorite songs. This party game is played in teams, like charades. Players may hum, whistle or act out the song titles. No singing allowed! There are 1,250 song titles to guess in five categories as players move along the game board path. The music categories are Broadway musicals, Folk & Family Favorites, Oldies, T.V. & Movies and Contemporary. Be the first team to reach the last Humm For All square and correctly identify the final song to win! A fun game for young and old alike! For two or more teams of two or more players. Comes with game board, song cards, die, four pawns and timer.

University of Wisconsin - Wisconsinopoly Review

Bought this game for my dad who plays Monopoly with my family and I when he visits... and since he is a University of Wisconin, Madison graduate, I just had to get him this game when I saw it on Amazon.
I had it shipped right to his home, so I have never played it. I presume that it is more of a "conversation piece" in his den/office?
Buying from Amazon was quick, easy and efficient... and this game was unique for the guy/dad that already has and owns everything... but this is one thing he did not have!!!
Have never played the game... but from a unique point of view, I am glad I bought it for him.

I purchased this game for my husband last Christmas and it quickly became our favorite. My daughters (ages 8 & 5) love learning more about our family history and guessing each other's favorites. The scavenger hunts and charades are also lots of fun. I would highly recommend this game to any family. It's also great to take to holiday get-togethers and play with extended family members. It really gets the "chatter" going and brings back some great memories.

This trivia set is very fun and has great, up-to-date questions. The only reason I didn't give it more stars is that there are only a small handful of trivia cards, and you start to repeat questions fast. If you don't play games that often, or need a travel game, it would be perfect, but if you play often, you may want to look for a game with more cards.

Odds R Board Game Review

Odds R Board Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased OddsR as a gift for my wife this past December. We first played it with family and friends on New Years Day. The age range of those playing was 13 to the late 50's, including older teens in college, thus a disparate age group was represented. After setting up and explaining the rules, we broke up into teams and proceeded with play.
The play was fast enough to keep up interest yet paced so that one could enjoy and even savor each round, especially if successful. The questions were both thought provoking and quite amusing at the same time. Well thought out and difficult enough to challenge the most fastidious of minds yet not beyond the comprehension of the younger players. Thus, a game conducive to
family as well as adult only play. Unusual in board games.
When the game was completed, all involved breathed a sigh of satisfaction and spoke in reverence of the game and in anticipation of the next time we could play. My college age son took the game back to college with him and played several times with his roommates (all quite intelligent). I was informed that they loved the game and the challenge and amusement it
provided and looked forward to playing it when time allowed. The betting as well as the intellectual aspect of OddsR seemed to appeal to their sense of gaming as well as "battle of the wits".
The author of the game was obviously an irreverent sort, yet bordering on genius in the manner he concocted the game theme and play. I think this game will go down as one of the classics in Board games for years to come. Highly recommended!

This is a multiple-choice trivia game with a wagering system that allows all players to bet on the expected answer before it's given. A lottery, fed by initial seeding and all lost wagers, provides the other principal source of income in the game. There are also some random benefits and penalties associated with each square landed on. The board contains three tiers, with minimum bets and random payouts increasing as each new level is reached.

Pressman Toys 1 vs 100 Review

Pressman Toys 1 vs 100
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Very few people will have 102 people at their disposal to be able to accurately recreate an episode from 1 vs. 100. Pressman Toy, however, has created an ingenious way of incoporating the spirit of "The Mob" in this home version of the game show.
The game is played with one person being the contestant and the other players representing "The Mob." A complete game involves each player having a turn at being the contestant. While the box and included instructions limit the game to a maximum of four players, the game easily could be extended to include more players, although the game time will be very lengthy to complete a full circuit with more than four players.
The mob members begin each round with a set number of "votes." Each vote represents 1 of the 100 members of the mob. With this one exception, the game plays very similarly to the game show. The introduction of these votes lends a very authentic feel to the game - the contestant really feels like he or she is battling 100 people instead of just the handful of people in the room.
Pressman Toy always has developed exceptional home game versions of game shows (most notably their versions of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire"). This game is no exception. Every person playing the game gets a chance to be involved every step of the way. The game is very well done. I highly recommend it to any fan of the show.

It's you against the mob in this exciting home version of NBC's new trivia game show. With over 800 questions, every player gets chance to be a contestant and every player gets to control the mob. The value increases, but the questions get tougher. Know when to stop and keep your (pretend) money. Take it too far and the mob splits it!

Finally someone made Booray. I've heard about this game on the radio. Supposedly some pro athletes play it in the locker rooms and it's supposed to be like hearts or rummy but I couldn't find it in the store until now. I got my copy and I couldn't stop playing it. It's a little like the game of Guts - if you're into poker, you know Guts. I was not aware of the Louisiana roots of this game but apparently it's a Cajun game. We love it. Lots of fun, trick taking, Trump cards, easy to learn...cool!

I am a trivia buff and a Trivial Pursuit addict so I was very excited to see this new edition. This game is still a lot of fun to play with friends but there is a lot missing from the Genus V game. The questions have indeed been updated, which is a good thing, but are either poorly worded and almost impossible to answer or they are REALLY easy. I love trivia and I really enjoy playing this game but it's definitely not the challenge I remember it being. Anyone who is up on current events and pop culture will do really well, anyone who is looking for a serious trivia challenge should maybe stick to Jeopardy.

This Vs That Game Review

This Vs That Game
Average Reviews:

I first saw this game in a local coffee shop, but buy it here, it's a better price. The main object is to come up with 5 things related to one of two categories that the electronic centerpiece randomly comes up with. For example; things that are hot vs things that are cold. Each team of comes up with the answers (so there are not any "right" answers, because any answer could be right). Seems easy enough, but then you swap lists with the other team. Then you have give clues in order to come up with the answers within a certain amount of time. The electronic unit also has two timers with lights and sounds, just like a TV game show. A fun and competitive game.

Two teams brainstorm and match wits in the fun game of contrasting thoughts and contrasting strategies. In This vs. That, teams sit on opposite sides of the game unit and race to create a list of 5 things that fit one of two contrasting categories. Then you try to guess what the other team wrote. Game module, blue scoring pegs, instructions and timers are included. For 4 or more players.
