Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Game House Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We bought this game over 2 weeks ago for our 3-year-old and I have to admit the whole family enjoys playing the games. We spend at least an hour each day playing all of the 8 games:
- memory match
- bingo
- dominoes
- tic-tac-toe
- checkers
- crazy 8s
- go fish
- rummy.
She seems to favor dominoes, bingo, memory match, and crazy 8s the most. I haven't experienced any of the problems with the storage chest construction which doubles as the checker board and tic-tac-toe (drawer)as some of the other Target reviewers. I have to admit, I would have much rather put the tic-tac-toe graphic on the bottom of the drawer rather than the inside since you have to take the drawer out anyway. After 2 weeks of almost non-stop play the memory game cards are showing some wear, which is expected. The domino graphics are showing some wear too to my surprise. I paid $15 for it on clearance at a Target's competitor, and I would have paid $19.99 without hesitation. The games are fun, the graphics are colorful and my preschooler knows all of the Playhouse Disney characters. I will probably end up laminating the bingo cards to ensure durability, but even if everything breaks tomorrow, we got our $15 worth. My preschooler has not enjoyed another game more. This makes a nice gift, and I will go to Target to get another one once this one is no longer playable. highly recommend.

Wood Expressions Wood Checkers Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Note the dimensions. The board and checker pieces look standard-sized in the photo, but they are about one-third smaller than I was expecting. I guess it really is more of a toy than a game. The quality of the board and pieces is high, however.

CHESS MAT - BLACK Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Not a bad set to buy, even though it may seem a little too expensive to some. The units aren't too bad, but he real strength are the one-figure-units. They do cost a good amount of points, but they all are very strong. Personally, I do not like the ranged units in the set, but they do have their advantages. They could get you out of a tight situation. Overall, a great set for the Heroquest lover. I would recommend getting this with the Master Set,on account these units are somewhat better...

King Me Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We have played this game only two or three times and two or three of the pieces will not twist up their crowns, which is the whole point of buying this set. So we wind up having to switch these out with some of the captured pieces that have been removed from play.

The most significant enhancement to the game of checkers, ever! Just give your checker a twist and up pops its regal crown. Thanks to this "crowning" moment, your king is ready, instantly, to enjoy regal power. Race across the board in the Coast-To-Coast version, climb to new heights in Stack 'Em, and you can play traditional checkers as well. Three great games all-in-one and a two sided board!2 Players.

GeoSafari Dino Checkers Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I was really looking forward to this board, and I was slightly disappointed with the quality. It's still fun, but the cheap, "dollar store" feel of the pieces takes away some of it. It wasn't expensive, and I'm glad I got it, I just would not buy it as a gift, because of the above. I wish they made it little better and even charged slightly more for it.

Magnetic Chess, Checkers, Backgammon Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The board and the pieces are of a decent size for a good game anywhere, and the magnetics are plenty strong enough to hold everything in place while you travel or move the board. The board is flexible, but it isn't really a roll up board. It's flexible enough to store in a backpack, though.

The flexible, magnetic mat allows you to roll it up and carry it anywhere. Three traditional games, one contemporary format. Warning Chocking Hazard! Contains small parts, not for children under 3.

Disney Princess Game Pack Princess Bingo Princes Tic Tac Toe/Checkers & Princess Card Game Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is a 3 in 1 game set with a Disney Princss theme. Included in the package are Checkers, Bingo and an Old Maid/Go Fish Card Game set. Each game is wrapped separately and can be stored in it's respective box.
The game boards and pieces are all cardboard, so not as durable as soem of the more expensive games, but if your kids are not too hard on the pieces, they will hold up pretty well.
Overall, I recommend this game set for kids aged 4-6 or so. We've spent hours playing the various games and they continue to hold up as favorites. The manufacturer also makes a similar game set with a spiderman theme that is just as fun. I found these for around $5, and that seems like a reasonable price.

Octi Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Learning to play Octi is very easy. Mastering the strategy behind Octi will take you a long time.
Think "checkers on steroids". Like checkers, the basic rules are very simple (much easier than Chess with 6 pieces to learn plus exceptions like castling). Unlike checkers where your pieces are limited to moving on diagonals, in Octi you build your pieces and can decide the directions they can go. This creates a vast number of strategic opportunities (and really fun multi-direction jumps!).
This set has a reversible board with two versions of the game. The 6X7 board allows for a game suitable even for young children (age 5 -- if you can learn checkers, you can play this), while the 9X9 board will satisfy players more interested in a sophisticated strategy game.
If you like Go or Chess or other abstract strategy games, Octi is worth checking out.

The Brainchild of Yale professor Donald Green and acclaimed as one of the greatest modern strategy games, Octi is easy to learn and fun for game-lovers of all ages. What makes Octi's patented game system distinctive? Octi pieces grow - they become more powerful and agile. Each turn, players need to choose between moving their pieces or improving them. By giving players the freedom to design their pieces, Octi unleashes a new level of creative thinking. For 2 players, ages 8 and up.

Mainstreet Classics Octagon 5-in-1 Game Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This game set is so beautifully crafted with thick and steady leather walls, a felt anti sliding bottom, and felt interior that is split into quadrants for game storing organization purposes. The overall construction is much better than most store bought combination gaming sets. The double-sided and removable top contains the same soft leather look with black and white checkered design on one side for games such as checkers & chess, and a dark red and white backgammon board upon the other side. The chess pieces are about two inches long and appear to look like ivory and chocolate wood carvings with soft brown felt on their bottom side. The black and ivory backgammon pieces are about a half inch round with green felt underneath. Also included are some thick and well made ivory dominoes, poker dice, an ivory and black set of rolling dice, two 2X3 inches of black leather looking dice cups, one large and two medium sized black draw string velvet looking pouches for gaming purposes or storing small gaming pieces and instructions for Dominoes, Bacgammon, Chess, Checkers, and Cribbage. Such a great activity for family gaming nights and gift giving purposes.

3 in 1 Travel Magnetic Chess, Checkers, Backgammon Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This set is of such low quality that I had to warn others. The clear coat is so thin on the painted checker/chess board that it scratches extremely easily; yet, in some places the clear coat is globbed on in drops so big they hinder sliding pawn forward. AND!!! ...the set has no rooks. Instead you get four quite obvious queens from a similar but smaller mold-set to use as rooks. So, in other words, both colors have one normal queen and two small queens of about rook height rather than actual rooks. They look so much alike from a players view that they affect game play seriously. THE CHESS PIECES DO NOT MATCH THE PICTURES IN THE ADD OR THOSE ON THE BOX -- you get two tall queens, four short queens, and no rooks. I finally trimmed the tops of the small queens flat with a razor/utility knife and they look more like rooks now but the set is honestly just a mess. Not recommended except for a small child although a child truly deserves more durability, a better board, and real rooks. Therefore, its even tough to recommend for a child. Keep shopping!

Checkers / Chess / Backgammon ( Folding Board ) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)It was absolutely amazing to me when my daughter asked me to buy her checkers and all I could find were "ten in one" sets or "Disney" or "Dora the Explorer" checkers in stores. I didn't feel like paying twenty dollars or more for "product placement" and my daughter is young so I wanted her to learn this fun board game with regular-sized black and red checkers on a safe durable simple board.
We are all very happy with this triple combination set. I play chess so I don't have to worry about bringing out the expensive set all the time, my wife plays Backgammon and my daughter couldn't be more thrilled with the checkers! The board is durable cardboard and it comes with extra checker pieces, as well as everything you need to play all three games. On the whole, a great set well worth the price we paid! I recommend this triple combination set to you wholeheartedly.

7 in 1 Wood game set including Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Dominoes, Cribbage and more Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Wow... what can I say. I sent it back. The wood on the game in the photo appears smooth, and slightly darker with a sheen like a polished walnut... when I received it, I was disappointed to find a rough, pale colored set. The cribbage board was assembled poorly - the seam where the hinges are did not match up and was uneven, the dividers inside the box are not sturdy... they completely come out and/or shift around inside the box. The other thing that disappointed me was that I paid $50 for the set. This is a starter set for my son, and I know that really nice sets are hundreds of dollars, but for $50 I expected to at least get something decent. The next day, after I purchased the set, the price went down to $34... and was still from the same seller. I love Amazon - I have bought many things from Amazon, but I was not happy with this Item at all. The photograph is a very poor representation of the product and there aren't enough reviews to judge otherwise. Please don't make the ame mistake I did, and buy this set!

(More customer reviews)I use to purchase cardboard checker games for my classroom, but found I had to replace them year after year. We've had this set for the past two years, and it looks almost new.
