(More customer reviews)I have used several puzzles made by the Ravesnburger and they are of a high standard in quality, and ease in using them. I also like the educational value of several of them for children. The only negative was the fact that two pieces were missing, of which one was a wrong piece which belongs to some other puzzle.I wisah they include a line diagram of the animals with a small description about them, like what national Geographic does in their puzzles. On the whole it is a pleasure toarrange the puzzle pieces and IO hartily recommend to the puzzle fans.

I worried that they may pose a choking hazard but I keep a close eye on him and after a couple months, this has never been an issue.

(More customer reviews)The title says it all. This game is really fun to play. The mat is huge, but fit on our dining room table. The game "pieces" are excellent and more like toys than game pieces. The quality is evident throughout. I highly recommend playing the advanced rules.
I would add two house rules.
1) A pirate must either return to his/her homeport or have a skirmish before loading another cargo from an island.
2) Each player may move a minimum of one square and shoot one time per turn. All spinner results are in addition to the minimums.
So says the Pirate King, Dan Jerr! Arrr!

(More customer reviews)This puzzle is beautiful -- the picture is very romantic and being a horse lover and married to a chivalrous husband, it just suits us perfectly. I ordered this and got it within about 10 days, but it worked out perfectly as a Father's Day gift. Many puzzles over 3000 pieces are city-scapes and other art that are not appealing to us, but this one is beautiful.
The quality of puzzle from this company is fantastic. The pieces are thicker and sturdy and the edges snap together very well. This is our second large puzzle by EDUCA, and we have been VERY pleased with the quality of their products. They live up to their reputation. The printing is very good quality also, not fuzzy or "dotty" like cheap puzzles.
My husband did a 5000 piece Educa puzzle a few years back and we glued, framed it, and hung it in our entryway. It looks so perfect from even a few feet away that most people are shocked to find out it's a puzzle and not a 5' x 4' painting! Only when they get really close can they see that it is a puzzle -- that is how good the printing and piece matching is with this brand of puzzles!!
The best feature of EDUCA puzzles is that for serious puzzlers, if you lose a piece or one is missing from the box, you can order that exact piece from the manufacturer for a very reasonable price. When you spend this much time putting something this tedious together, only to have your heart sink when you discover a piece is gone (or the cat chewed it up) it's good to know all is not lost -- replacement pieces are at your fingertips!
Highly recommend these puzzles -- well worth the price. When I shopped for this, as usual, Amazon.com had the best price because of free shipping. Thanks Amazon!

(More customer reviews)I recently got this for my 5 year old daughter. She loves games, and kicks everyone's but at tougher games like Monopoly. I am surprised at how much she loves this Cat and Mouse game, because there's not much to it. If you play by the rules it's over in three minutes. I find it boring, no strategy or even thinking, but the little one never tires of it. You can make your own rules to render it more interesting. It's a very high quality game structurally, Ravensburger is THE BEST QUALITY toy company. I highly recommend this toy as a first game for 3 or 4 year olds. I never would have bought it if I had played it first, but she gets such a kick out of it I'm not sorry we have it.

(More customer reviews)Let me preface this by saying, I am now a big Ravensburger fan. I have a verbal, game loving 3 1/2 year old. He is obsessed with Junior Labrynth (sp?) which ranks as one of the best children's games I have ever seen. It teaches kids to think ahead - so is a great precursor to chess. Plus it is goulish in tenor, so kids love it. With this is mind, I purchased mystery garden and the enchanted forest. They are both wonderful. Mystery garden is the simplest - it is just a 20 questions game, but it is made visual and has magical elements, so it is so much better for children. It teaches them to learn to ask general questions "Can you eat it?" as opposed to limited ID questions, "Is it the blueberries?". My son loves it and is beginning to grasp the concept of narrowing down the options through careful questioning. Enchanted forest is also a MUST HAVE. A+ to this lovely company.

Randomly place the 48 picture cards face down around the game board. The youngest player begins by picking up any one of picture cards, being sure not to show it to any of the other players. This picture card shows an exact picture of an object on the game board. The other players try to guess the object by asking "yes" or "no" questions. After each question, the single playing piece is moved along the path in the mystery garden. The player who correctly guesses the object shown on the picture card keeps that card and draws another one from around the game board. Then the questions begin again. If no one has guessed the object by the time the playing piece reaches the castle, the player answering the questions keeps the picture card and draws another one and the questioning starts over. There aren't many pieces, making it easier to keep track of them. My kids feel like they know the little creatures and hve a personal rrelationship with them. It is wonderful that there is no desire to cheat, no sore losing, no bragging winners. With two little boys 16 months apart, cooperative games are imperative. We love Max!

(More customer reviews)This is a fabulous game! First of all, the game mechanic is so simple, anyone can learn how to play it in less than a minute. So whenever I have friends who aren't into boardgaming over at my house, I pull this one out.
At the beginning of the game, you deal out treasure cards. The aim of the players is to reach the tile on which the treasure is printed. You do this by pushing tiles. As the players push the tiles the layout of the labyrinth changes. You can play this game with two to four players. With two players, it's more strategic since you have to worry about getting your treasures and preventing the other player from getting his. With larger number of players, the game becomes more chaotic and exciting because the labyrinth will be completely different by the time you get your turn again.
Basically, you should get this game. The simple gameplay combined with a high level of replayability makes this a must-have boardgame.
