Tonka Toughest Mighty Loader Review

(More customer reviews)On the shelf or on line, this trucks shovel appears to lock into position above the rig but it doesnt. It took me nearly 10 minutes to remove strapping anchored to this truck within the packaging. My son spent a minute playing with this truck only to move on to his other toys. Yeah, the shovel portion drags on the floor and will NOT lock into position above the rig. This truck can hardly be moved through the carpet much less in sand. I grew up with Tonka trucks and this was obviously designed by some young suit that was babysat by the television and playstation. If your looking for a durable fun truck for your child, move on as this truck wont get the smile your looking for.

Most of the pieces can go in different spots, so there's not always only one right answer.
The doors are surprisingly sturdy even after many uses.
I lost two pieces and called the manufacturer- the replacement pieces are on their way- no questions asked.
I like the magnetic feature. It keeps the pieces in the puzzle more than the average puzzle.
Overall I am always pleased with their products.

It ended up being thrown out this spring as the balls were dented and lost and we couldn't deal with snapping it together anymore. Not worth the cost unfortunately.

(More customer reviews)I was ordering the Safety Target Dart Board and the replacement ball set was shown as an item as something that customers also bought. I thought it made sense to have an extra set on-hand.
Well, the velcro balls that are included with the Dart Board are the size of ping pong balls, and the Replacement Balls are the size of tennis balls!
What's wrong with this picture? I gave it as a gift and was a little embarrassed when the gift was opened because it was clearly not meant to go together.
I'm sure they can be used in some capacity, but not with the Safety Target Dart Board.

(More customer reviews)When our friends visited from Great Britian, their [...] year old daughter toted around her felt board (indoor pet theme) by Felt Kids (a very cute line of felts made by the same makers of Thomas the Train). My [...] year old son LOVED it! I searched everywhere, only to find out they are no longer in production.
I found Felt Tales online and ordered 4 of them, one for him, one for his 3yo friend's (girl) birthday, and 2 for his cousins. The mother of the 3 yo told me later that it was her favorite gift. Every night before bed, her toddler plays out a story about the zoo keeper and her job at the zoo. My son makes up stories too and loves to feed the animals. His cousins will get theirs at Christmas and I'm sure the response will be the same.
The toy has some small felts, so adult supervision is needed before age 3yo.
After ordering online, I also found them in a "mom & pop" toy store in the mall.

It works for the most part, but even if you are careful, some of the pegs are going to fall out of the upper board as you play. The tops will snap off if you wiggle them too much, though you can get them to go back on. In addition, if you have to insert a peg between several other pegs, there isn't very much room to maneuver. Finally, the letters and numbers marking the grid are a little hard to make out if the lighting or your eyes aren't good.
In a pinch these work, but they aren't great.

Melissa and Doug Basic Skills Board Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased the basic skills board to help my 3-year-old learn to tie, snap, zip, clip, button and buckle. It's a bust. He doesn't use it because the functions aren't secured to the base. It's difficult to teach these skills when they're not stationary. And it's large, heavy and cumbersome for him. Being a puzzle just adds to the confusion of its function. I'm going to glue the pieces into place and mount the board to a wall. I think this will turn it into an investment rather than a waste of $[...].

Let's Go Fishin Review

(More customer reviews)To clear up a few things: 1) The game uses 1 C battery, not 2 AAs. 2) There is no music as stated in the product description. 3) The fishing pole and fish are not magnetic as in other, smaller, wind-up versions of this game.
My biggest complaints are that it spins a little too fast, which means that the fish don't keep their mouths open for very long. And because the fishing pole is two plastic pieces with a small cone/cup shaped plastic knob (which is only a little smaller than the fish's mouths) instead of a magnet on a string as in the small, wind-up versions, catching fish isn't all that easy. It's not terribly hard, as I got the hang of it in a few minutes, but it's definitely not as easy as in the magnetic versions.
Lastly, the reason some people have trouble putting the game back into its box is because some of the fish are still in their "up" positions (sticking up, with their mouths open). You just need to rotate it manually until all fish are in their "down" positions. But be sure to only rotate it the way the thing normally rotates, though, otherwise you might damage it.
Also, I saw this at Target for less money.
