(More customer reviews)We owned the original Mall Madness and it is a very fun game. However, the set up and tear down time was just too long. We never wanted to get it out and play because it was too time consuming. I saw this on clearance after Christmas and realized it was a new design. Since we loved playing the original the few times we made the effort to set it up I thought I'd give it a shot and I am very glad I did. This is basically the same fun game with an updated easy to set up design! The only difference in game play is that the girl game tokens have pets with them and the stores are animal related. For instance, a pet salon rather than a hair salon and a chew toy store rather than a toy store. The set up time is practically nothing on this version. It is just so well designed. The top velcro's together. Pop it apart, and fold it down. The top story is already attached and pops up. Then, just set down the electronic center piece that scans the ATM cards, grab your tokens and you are ready to play. Afterward, everything fits neatly in the middle of the game board, close the case and snap the velcro and you are done. We will definately play this revised design much more often. Although if your child is not into the whole pet theme, you may have to stick with the older design as long as you can stand the set up time! Both games are tons of fun and easy to play.
