Shut The Box, 12 numbers SWI2424 Review

Shut The Box, 12 numbers SWI2424

In the literally hundreds of times that I have purchased off of the internet, this item qualifies as the worst product that I have ever seen for the following reasons: the green "felt" in the picture is actually a green colored adhesive backed "paper" that was not even attached to the game, the wooden frame of the game was so out of square (at least 1/4") that it wobbles dramatically when placed on a flat surface- not exactly what you want with a dice game(!), and the sides of the dice area are not high enough to play the game effectively. I do not need to even open the other box to see that I want an immediate refund. Even if the seller complies, I still have to pay the shipping and "restocking" fees. In my opinion, this product is so shoddily manufactured it should never have been offered. What a disappointment...

As Grandma cleared the dinner plates, mom went to closet to pick a board game, and dad grabbed some ice cold sodas from the fridge. What was just a few minutes ago a quiet family dinner, all the sudden turned into a crazy, wild, and fun Saturday night of DiceptionTM!Deep into the second round, everyone was skeptical of dad's bid, mom's was on the edge of lunacy, but no doubt grandma was just trying to bluff her way through the game! Even though I was just a teenager I couldn't hold my tongue. I jumped up out of my chair, pointed at grandma and cried out "DiceptionTM!" Everyone flipped their tumblers and we counted dice. Grandma got me good! But I still had The Second Chance CubeTM to roll! The cube bounced around a few times in the middle of the table careening off the popcorn bowl and landing next to mom's soda ... "Free Pass" it showed! - Ha, I was still in the game! Now it was my turn to start the bidding ...Welcome to the crazy, fast-paced, fun-for-the-whole-family world of DiceptionTM! A board game that takes less than two minutes to learn and a lifetime to master! It requires no special skills or abilities, but be cautioned, you never quite know who is bluffing and who is playing it straight! The strategy from person to person and hand to hand changes each time a new bid is made! Guess wrong and you lose a die, guess right and your opponent must surrender one of their precious cubes! But wait, there is a a twist! Roll the Second Chance CubeTM, it could change your fortunes or maybe even the fortunes of the entire table! To win and be crowned the DiceptorTM, be the last person still holding dice!DiceptionTM is fast to play! Yahtzee Turbo Review

Yahtzee Turbo
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This game is very easy to learn, and matches finish quickly. The basic concept is that each player begins the game with 5 cards. Each card has a dice pattern which must be matched in a set time by rolling five dice. If a player matches the card, he/she is allowed to discard it, and sometimes gets a bonus. If not, the the card is kept, and sometimes a penalty is given. The first player out of cards wins. It is extremely adaptable to several age levels- dice are color coded, so that young children need not recognize the pip patterns to play; there are two levels of playing cards which can be used, and adults can choose to begin the game with more cards in their hands to even the odds. The "Big Die" gives each player instructions, so no arguments ensue. If players are easily reaching the targets, the timer speeds up. If no one is hitting the goals, the timer slows down. We were able to complete two games in 20 minutes, with no arguments between the adults, the 9 year old, and the teenager - amazing! Mom's favorite feature - all the parts store EASILY in a base compartment, and the game fits EASILY back into the box - what a relief.

Ready to roll' Here's a fast-rolling, card-turning twist to the classic game of Yahtzee. Turn a card, and quickly roll, roll, roll until your dice match the pattern on the card. The die detects your speed and adjusts to it, and the electronic voice times you - so you better roll fast! Requires 3 "AAA" batteries, included. For 2-4 players.

This game is a really fun game to play with a group. Highly recommended. The only problem I had was when I ordered it as a Christmas gift from used games, it said mint condition. The game was ok but the box it came in was certainly not mint. I expected it to look nice enough to give as a gift. I was disappointed in it's appearance. Be aware of what mint condition means.

Power Yahtzee Review

Power Yahtzee

I bought this game because regular Yahtzee was getting a little boring. This game requires more math skills and it really makes you think because you have a lot more options, for example there are two 3 and 4 of a kinds, and three Yahtzee's to name a few. There is a lot more to the game but I will let you have the fun of learning it. We play the old Yahtzee when we are too tired to think and Power Yahtzee when we want a challenge. My daughter is 15 and she really likes it, and it's tough to get her approval.

Liar's Dice Review

Liar's Dice
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got this game a couple of years ago, and it's very popular with my Wednesday game group. It's better and more cutthroat than Perudo because in Perudo, you lose only one die per turn. In this game you can wipe out completely in one turn. Here's how it works:
Everyone gets five dice and one cup, there's 30 dice and six cups, so up to six can play. If less than six are playing, you can give six dice to each player. Players shake the dice in their cups (which can be very noisy) and then peek, without showing the others. Bidding then begins, with each player saying how many dice of a certain number are showing (7 threes, 8 fours, etc.). The ones, shown by a star on the dice, are wild and can count for any number. Bidding continues till one player says "no dice." All the players then reveal what they have. If there's at least as many dice showing as the last bid, the player calling "no dice" loses. If there's less dice showing than the last bid, the player making the last bid loses. You lose the amount of dice from the last bid. If you said there are 10 threes showing and there's only 8 threes, the person bidding 10 threes would lose two dice. Players continue till they lose all of their dice. The last person with dice is the winner.
A good dice game that combines luck, stratgy and bluffing! Plus this version allows up to six players. If you like dice games and you want something other than Yahtzee, get this Milton Bradley version of Liar's Dice. It's out of print, but I believe amazon.com has it.

It's a gutsy game of bids and bluffs! The bidder claims 12 three's are under the dice cups. Is twelve too many, or not enough? Should you push the bid higher, or challenge the bluff? In this game, either decision is risky? What's under those dice cups is anybody's guess! So the bid gets bigger and the bluffs get bolder...Until somebody finally says "NO WAY!" and challenges. The dice are uncovered, the truth is revealed and whoever guessed wrong loses dice! The winner of this gutsy game is the very last player with dice. So put on your very best poker face, and get ready for some challenging fun!

My 6-year-old loves to play games with me. Some are more interesting than others, and I always hope he'll choose IGOR, which he often does. Its combination of skill in analyzing probabilities and sheer luck even the playing field without being boring. I can try as hard as I want to win and he still does quite a bit. My understanding of the logic involved grew over several game plays and I still make adjustments in my strategy. My six-year-old picked up on the logic really quickly, too, and I love the fact that he's using his brain while we play together. I actually bought one as a Christmas gift for my sister's family this year we like it so much.

The Simpsons Dice Review

The Simpsons Dice
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
So I generally buy any Simpsons game, and some are fun and some are disappointing, but this game was a blast with a small group of friends to play and talk during. For adults, it can easily be modified to a drinking game as well if you really would like.
First of all, the game play is quick and simple. The rules take a few seconds to learn, but the strategy takes a little longer. This is a version of the game "Pirates Dice", which if you have never played, can be a blast. The point is to be the player with dice left at the end of the game. You take turns in a circle "Bidding" on number of dice between all players that are of a certain number (Which includes the possibility of a "wild"). Once someone bids, the next player has to either raise the bid or challenge the bid. The bid can never go lower during a round. If you challenge and win, the bidder loses a dice and if you challenge and lose, you lose a dice. It s rather simple.
Honestly, I am not sure if kids would enjoy it a whole lot, it is much more of a social game, the kind you play to pass the time and hang out with buddies instead of childhood entertainment, but for those purposes, I recommend it highly.
Really, you can play the game with a bunch of dice and some cups, there is nothing that you really need out of this game set, but it always adds fun when you can play with Simpsons characters.
The game includes four "Duff" Dice Rolling cans (Which store the dice when not playing as well), a set of dice for each of the four cans, and a "Duff" plastic bag to store the cans in for later use I suppose or just for fun.
Overall, worth the money for a good time for teenagers and adults.

Let the games begin! This exciting game of strategy and defense pits players against each other in an attempt to win with the highest score. Each player has 14 dice of one color and all dice are spilled onto the table. In turn, players place one of their dice on top of an opponent?s showing the same number. Placing the fourth die on a stack captures it and takes it out of play. A die can be rolled for a higher number, but that roll must then be used. When all plays are exhausted, each stack of two or more dice belongs to the player whose color is on top. It?s piles of fun! Game comes with four sets of 14 dice each, the STACK Sack and instructions. For 2-4 players.

Reveal Entertainment Farkel Classic Dice Game Review

Reveal Entertainment Farkel Classic Dice Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I learned a slightly different version of this game from family. In the version we were playing you only used 5 dice (Farkel uses 6) and the scoring was much more limited. When I read the description I decided to try this one because it had higher scores. I was also pleased to learn of the high stakes version of the rules which really makes things interesting. You have the option of continuing the previous player's turn and if you don't throw a losing roll, you get the same score they had plus whatever you just added.
There is also another version called Spicy Farkel which adds the capability of multiplying your score if you have red sided dice on your roll. I bought them both but you could save some money and just buy the Spicy version. The Spicy Farkel even includes rules for a different game that uses the same red sided dice. Farkel has made an already fun game even better.

The classic game of guts and luck is Farkel and this is the classic Farkel set.It is still small enough for portability, the game tube measures 4.5 tall and 2 wide. It includes 6 regular sized blue playing dice, a roll-up score pad, miniature pencil, and instructions. One of the world's best dice games, Farkel is a fun, fast-paced, high-score game that takes just two minutes to learn. You roll six dice, remove only the dice you want to use for points, and then re-roll the remaining dice. Some scoring dice must be removed after every roll. If you can eventually make all six dice count for score, pick them all up and keep going. If none of the dice you roll count for score, you lose your turn and any points you made during that turn. The first player to score more than 10,000 points, wins. Six dice plus feeling lucky equals Farkel! For 2 or More Players, Ages 8 and Up.

This is a wonderful game I discovered from a friend earlier this year. It's fun with a lot of people. The only problem is that the first time I played it, I learned how to play from someone else. When I bought this product, I attempted to understand the rules from the unclear instructions, and got a bit lost.
Otherwise, it's great. It's simple and fun.
