Barbie Balance Beam Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)It seems fun - 6 flowers that light up... 4 different games... an active toy... but it didn't work. Imagine my 5 year old daughter's frustration when Barbie tells her to hit the blue flower, she does, and Barbie says "no, try again. Hit blue." Yes, honey, you are hitting blue... Barbie is a moron.
The concept is great - hit the colors Barbie tells you to, or make music, or play a "twister" type game, etc. - I think she would have played with this all the time had it worked.
Anyway, Amazon was great about taking it back and refunding my money, but now it is unavailable which makes me think I'm not the only one to find it defective? If it worked, I think it'd be a cool toy... but I think they need to work the bugs out before they try again. My rating was based on if it had worked - hoping that maybe I was just unlucky and they aren't all badly programmed! :)

BALANCE BOARD Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This board is like 2 snow saucers held together by nuts and bolts. I feel it should maybe be half the price shown here. For some reason when I ordered this I thought it was a nice board of solid plastic and would be all one piece. So when the saucers fell apart to reveal a bag full of screws and nuts with washers I was quite surprised!
My sons and eldest daughter enjoy spinning on it but it does not hold their attention for too long. But then again, they do seem to go back frequently during the day. I feel it provides great vestibular imput for them. Unfortunately, it also feels as if the top could easily get cracked which would be a real bummer.
I guess when you have the market cornered on something you can pretty much name your own price.

Challenge& Fun Labyrinth Balance Board Review

Challengeand Fun Labyrinth Balance Board

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This balance board is sturdy and nicely constructed, but there is little room to shift the feet around. The pivot point on the bottom is a half-round piece of wood (half ball), so if you have hardwood or linoleum floors to protect, make sure this toy is used on carpet or out of doors.
Other than that, it's a load of fun, but for serious balance practice I would recommend the Indo-Board which is sold at surf shops, skate shops, and on the web everywhere. For a similar price one has much more flexibility in usage. The Indo-Board won't mar your floors, either.

Wiggling Cow Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We received this game as a gift for my 5 year old. The basic concept is kind of like pick up sticks that we played as kids. Haba uses cards, a cow, and a fork instead of wooden sticks. The game works by throwing the cards in a pile so they are all mixed up and stacked in a pile on the board. You then place the cow on top of the cards which has back legs attached to a string so they can fall out if the cow is moved to much. You then take turns with 2 people up to 4 trying to get a card off the board using the wooden fork. The game is creative and fun. My five year old had no problem playing so I would say this game is for 4 years old and up. It is not a game you are going to take out of the closet all the time but it certainly was a great gift!

Konexi -Premium Edition Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Other people have written that this game is like a combination of Scrabble and Jenga (which is largely true) but I want to talk about something else. Beyond the fun game that is described in the rules, the letters of Konexi are attractive objects both to look at and touch. If Konexi is left out on the table, people are naturally attracted to it and start making words and towers. Konexi also makes a great solitaire spelling/balance game. Not only is Konexi a fun game, it is a captivating (and well constructed) toy.

The gravity-defying word game. Konexi is the 3D word-building game that will have you pushing your luck and on the edge of your seat. Take turns adding letters to a teetering tower of words. Go for longer words - upward, downward, or sideways - to score more points. But watch out...the next letter may cause gravity to kick in and a Konexi collapse. It's thrilling fun for the whole family. ZimZala Games A wise person once said, families that play together, stay together. (More customer reviews)Bought this game for my 4 year-old. She loves it! Her friends too.
It's easy enough for young children to learn in moments. Just stack the cute wooden hens, wagon wheels, and hay bales on the wobbly perch, and take turns removing piece by piece while still keeping the roost in balance.
My daughter loves the suspense, and I love that she is practicing important fine motor and balancing skills while having a ton of fun!
The game is cute and very well crafted, all in wood.

Villa Paletti Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I ordered this (actually cheaper at Drugstore.com!) for my preteen and teen children to play. There wasn't much interest on Christmas morning between all the other gifts, but once the novelty wore off from all the high tech gifts a few days later, I challenged the kids to a game. It's a lot of fun and is different because you can't really sit around a table to play. Everybody is up on their feet looking at the tower from all angles to move their column. I was the loser 3 times in a row, and I didn't do it intentionally like a parent would for younger children! It was a lot of fun, and for parents with younger children it would be pretty educational to teach balance and physics principals. Guess I had better get a grasp on them myself!

Learning Mates Monkey Math Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My 3 yr old and 5 yr old like this toy. It gives them another way to conceptualize addition besides counting on their fingers. It is a good, tactile learning aid. They also like playing with the bananas in other ways (lining them up in order, feeding them to the monkey, etc.). They already have some math concepts from the LeapFrog Math Circus DVD (excellent!), so this is a nice addition to that.

Wobble Deck Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We gave this to our 4 year old son just last night for Hanukkah. Let see he played with it for 3 hours before bed, put it in his room while he slept and brought it downstairs and played with it before school. The different levels are great, he will grow from the freestyle to the instructional over some time. The toy seems quite durable, made out of one solid piece of wood, with colorfully designed plastic corners. The corners play beats from the instrument on the corresponding corner when hitting the ground. And depending how long you balance on the corner is how many beats or a song from that instrument you can create. I highly recommend this toy. And I believe my son did too, when he told me "Mommy I love this toy".

Equilibrio Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought Equilibrio for my son's 9th Birthday. He loves building towers, and would often just create things from our jenga blocks we have. So when I saw this, I thought it would be perfect for him. The first couple of structures in the book seem like they are easy, and my son would brag, and tell me he could build anything! However, as we progressed through the structures, it becomes clear that there is not just a balance issue going on - but there is a certain amont of strategy to how you place the blocks, and in which order. This game is excellent for hand-eye co-ordination, as well as problem-solving strategies, and when you turn it into a competition, like we did, it becomes a huge amount of fun! I also like the idea of just buying the other books for the other games they produce, as they can all be played with the same blocks. I recommend this game highly, for single player fun and family competitions - and all achieved without having to buy or replace a single battery!

Use the enclosed precision-cut blocks to construct the 60 models in the enclosed challenges book. A gradual increase in difficulty and complexity insures that eveyrone, from beginner to pro, finds an exciting challenge within the book. A simple color code makes it easy for players to track their progress. Combining imagination, dexterity and perseverance, Equilibrio is a fun filled brain teaser for the whole familly to enjoy.

Carrom 510.01 Balance Board Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I remember when my father brought his original balance board home after he packed up his parents house. All three of us took to the challenge of being able to stay up on it. Just when we started to get bored with it, our renter from our garage taught us to stretch the limits - first, merely learning to jump and then keep your balance. Within weeks, he was doing a 180 degree jump, and then a 360 degree turn. I am looking forward to our kids (8 and 6) working on their balance skills with this toy.
This toy needs a smooth, hard surface to work well; linoleum, very smooth concrete or hardwood floors are recommended. For long-term durability, I would not recommend using it on typical street concrete as the wood roller beam can get dinged up a bit with loose pebbles and then not roll as smoothly.
