Collectors Series Candy Land Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I purchased this version of Candyland because I didn't like the graphics of the newer Candyland games. However, I didn't realize that the playing board that comes in the metal tin would be folded up so small, making the game board difficult to lie flat for play. I enjoy the durability of the box and pieces, but probably would have purchased a different version with a board that only splits once down the middle. Otherwise, my 3 yr-old daughter loves to play this game with mom and dad and at Grandma's house. Also, the play in this version can be a little long and tedious, so I agree with other reviewers who suggest modifying the rules and stacking the deck to keep play shorter!

Celebrity Taboo Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Since Taboo has failed to come out with separate packs of new cards for its game, we resorted to buying this version, Celebrity Taboo. It works just like the original version and is a lot of fun because you have to know from Ginger Rogers and Captain Kangaroo to Ben Franklin and Jesse James. As is typical with the game, all the most common words associated with these famous folks can't be used to get your partner to identify them. Lots of fun if you can still find version of this game and are Taboo freaks like we are.

Battleball Game Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This game is major fun. A buddy of mine and me played this game from 8pm till 2am. I saw the Ad for it on cartoon Network, and thought, hey this looks like Games Workshops Blood Bowl, And I always wanted to play that. This Game cost less than 15.00 bucks when I bought it, better than the 50 dollar blood bowl title. Have No idea if the games are related, but if you like football, tactical stratagy, and mass carnage with cyberpunk overtones get this game. If you know any one who likes just one of these things get this as a gift. This game is simple to learn. Instuctions are 6-8 page pamphlet you can read in 5 min easy. The game will keep you enthralled for hours. Hoping for expansion teams, me and pals have tounaments starting up this week. Last thing, the manufacturer says this game is for those 8 to about 12, most people I know or have seen playing/buying this game are ages 8-40

Twister Moves Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Any game that makes kids move and not be planted infront of the Tv is good to try.
I have an 11-year-old-girl she loved the "Dance, Dance Revolution" arcade game. Wanting to recreate that experience at home would have been very expensive, we would have needed a Play station 2, the game plus the mats to play it on.
But a visit to our local toy store presented us to this new version of the classic Twister game.
She love the format, the 3 CDs offer a good challange and so far the dancing mats are holding strong (they are non slip and work well on our hardwood floor)
Aside from the [money amount]for the game you will need a CD player. The game can be played with up to 4 players or solo!!!
It is a great party game until I find a way of getting extra mats
I think using circles in the colors of the mat and taping to the floor would help get more kids playing at the same time (like 4 kids are not alot!!!)

A Question Of Scruples Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I played this with family and had a blast, so I ordered one for my friends and I. Unfortunately college students don't seem to find as many things as controversial as my older family. I'm going to try going through the cards, but I'm sure this is salvageable as an awesome game.

NASCAR Daytona 500 Race Game (1990 Board Game) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Welcome to the Daytona 500 and life in the fast lane! It's a fast track fight to the finish. Oficially licensed by NASCAR, six race cars hug the inside curve as you blast past another opponent around the big Daytona 500 loop. It is three spaces wide except for a sweeping curve at either end. In the curves the track narrows to two lanes, the outer of which is a passing lane requiring twice as many movement points to use and in which a car may not end its turn. Movement points come from play of the special deck of cards. Selecting a card from your hand in your turn, you move each of the cars on the card the prescribed number of spaces, trying to position your own car or cars most advantageously while leaving your opponents blocked. Before each race the six cars are auctioned off, and you bid for them based on the cards in your hand. Suggested game length is three races (each race about 20 minutes), enough to give the luck of the draw a chance to even out. It is a battle to the finish! Beat your opponenets to the finish line with the most money.

Old MacDonald had a farm by Hasbro Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my 3 yr. old daughter who is autistic. As many parents of autistic kids know, reaching a child that "lives in their own world" and has little attention span is a major challenge. This toy grabs her attention and she picked up how to play with it immediately. When she asks to play with it, she asks for "Farmer". She asks for it a lot and plays with it for long periods of time. She has even started to sing along with the farmer! I am so happy with this toy. The other reviews on this item are right on for kids in general. I want to speak for handicapped children like my daughter. It is a difficult thing to guess what is appropriate and what won't be such a good idea. I hope this helps you shoppers out there that have a special person of your own to shop for.

Vintage Upwords w/ 100 Tiles & 10x10 Board 1997 Edition Review

Vintage Upwords w/ 100 Tiles and 10x10 Board 1997 Edition

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My very literate family LOVES scrabble and upwards, most likely because even the kids can shine while playing it.
I personally prefer upwards to scrabble because it has more complex strategy and less reliance on just vocabulary.
Get a turntable to go with it, as with scrabble, this greatly increases the usability of the game.

Don't Spill the Beans Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I agree with the previous reviews. When you first play with the toy, it's boring because it tips after 10 or less beans are used. However, this problem is easy to solve. Before placing the tray on the pot, place some coins in the bottom of the pot. The weighted pot allow the child to place more beans on top. Once we weighted the pot, our three boys had a lot more fun with the game. Now, they get excited as they watch the beans pile up, and when the pot spills it's much more fun to see a large amount of beans topple over than just 10 or less. My three older boys (ages 2-5) really enjoy playing with the game now. In addition, it's a game that they can play without help from an adult which is nice. For the price, it's definitely worth the investment.

Be careful...Don't spill the beans! Drop these happy beans one by one into the pot as it wobbles back in forth. Try to balance them, and try not to spill them, because if you do the game is through! Game includes: Bean pot, lid, arms, base, beans and label sheet.
For 2 to 4 players.

Toy Story 3 Operation Buzz Lightyear Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Fun game for the young Buzz Lightyear fan. I thought my youngest son might be scared by the "BUZZZ" when you hit the edges, but what do you know? They've changed the sound! All kinds of beeps and spacey sounds; not nearly as startling (maybe that makes it less fun for the older boys and us parents that remember the old ones?!) Still a fun game!

Classic Parcheesi Board Game Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)What a great version of one of the oldest "race" games. Parcheesi requires a lot more strategy than a casual glance would indicate. Which piece to move, to enter a piece or move one already out, to go home for the bonus or wait, to hit an opponent for the bonus or not . . . there is a lot to think about. The board is beautiful, and the pieces (tiger, buffalo, elephant and camel) are stylishly designed.
It is not only fun, it's unpredictable. A player can come from behind and win before you know it. Never boring. In terms of educaton, it teaches counting, strategy, and decision making. There is also a brief paragraph on the inside of the box describing the Indian cultural relevance of each of the animals. The mounted board is average in terms of durability, and the pieces are plastic. The wood dice are a nice touch.
Note: It is not a "Classic Parcheesi board game", which implies it is the classic or traditional version. This is a cosmetic update to "Parcheesi, the Classic Game of India". If you are looking for the traditional version with pawns, that is still available as well.
