I bought this game for my 7 year old daughter, thinking that my five year old would also be able to play. What I didn't figure on was how often I would be drawn to it. This is a logic game which comes with many cards at all different levels, from pretty easy to very difficult. The idea is wonderfully simple, so even the youngest kids can understand the concept. Plus, it is all self-contained, so it is perfect for road trips. This has become my favorite Birthday gift by far, suitable for boys & girls of many ages. Highly recommended.

Quoridor Classic Strategy Game Review

Quoridor Classic Strategy Game

We love this game! It is a clever game of strategy, logic, planning and adaptivity. Some parents don't often play games because they don't have the time to sit down. But this game is quick and lets you say yes to your kids more often. It is fun, we love playing quick rounds. You can make the game last long or short, make it easier or more challenging by using two or four men on the board, and it is nice looking because most of the pieces are wood. A great game to leave lying around.

Quoridor is a delightful strategy game for 2, 3 or 4 players that takes less than 10 minutes to play. On each turn you need to decide whether to move your pond ahead one space or foil your opponent's progress by a carefully placed fence.Your goal is to be first to move your pawn across the board. Other players will seek to place obstacles in your path. This forces additional moves to navigate around the fences. You also can place blocking fences to foil your opponent's forward progress. This Classic Version of Quoridor game board measures 10.4 inches square. Complete instructions in English, Spanish, French, Dutch, and German. Quoridor is one of several wood strategy games (including Quarto, Pylos, Quads, Katamino, Inside, Quixo) by French Game Manufacturer GIGAMIC.Gigamic Games have been distributed by several different game companies in the United States over the past many years (including Family Games and Fundex Games).Same great game just new distributor (Back Alley Traders as of 2010).Their games have proven to be entertaining, thought provoking and well received. Monkey Memory Review

My son received this game as a gift. He is seven. We played this as a family along with our four year old daughter. This game entertains them both. It is rare that I find a game that they both can get into. Basically you have 10 cards with pictures on each one. Everyone looks at all of these cards and then they are mixed up and one is taken away. You put the remaining cards face down and briefly turn each one up and then face down again. Then everyone has to guess which card is missing. This is great to sharpen memory skills. We had a great time playing this as a family. The price is great too. My mother is an elementary teacher and says this game is one she needs for her classroom. This is an overall great buy!

A gang of monkeys have broken out of the zoo and stolen a whole pile of items from the zoo's visitors! After all of the items are recovered, one is still missing. Keep your eyes sharp, because a different item will be lost each round. In Monkey Memory, players get to see all of the items once, and then they must quickly determine which item is missing. Everyone places their thumb on their marker card over the symbol matching the item that they feel is correct. Get a monkey coin for each correct answer - the player with the most at the end of the game wins!

Educational Insights Castle Logix Review

My 4 1/2 year old daughter just opened this for Christmas. It is a first rate toy! It looks easy, but it is more challenging than it first seems. Some of the most difficult puzzles even took me a little while (and I'm an engineer). My daughter worked through the first 20 puzzles before deciding to move on to another Christmas toy. She was very proud of herself when she solved each puzzle. It is well-built and doesn't have too many pieces (which is nice for clean up). It is awesome for teaching logical problem-solving skills. This toy makes a great gift.

Safari UNDERCOVER Review

What's NOT to like here?!?! There are challenges of varying degrees of difficulty so that everyone in the family can enjoy this game from child to adult!! Even my four year old LOVES this game and is successful at it too, even though I think the recommended ages are 6+. A 12 year old relative loved it so much after he played ours that his mom ordered him is own too. How many other games can not only be played by all ages, but really enjoyed by all ages too. PLUS, added bonus is the game is self contained and the cards fit inside it, no flimsy outer box necessary. This would make an awesome gift for anyone. I HIGHLY recommend!

ThinkFun Chocolate Fix Review

Here we have another winner from the folks at ThinkFun. My 9 year old received this toy yesterday; I have played it a bit and found it quite challenging even at the "advanced" level (it goes up higher to "expert"). The premise of the game is straightforward. You have 9 chocolates in three colors and three shapes; you are given clues as to how to place them in the "chocolate box". Not as easy as one might think! There is a spiral notebook of sets of clues with various difficulty levels. My 9 year old will do ok with the "beginner" and "intermediate" levels; the "advanced" level will challenge her but each card sort of guides the user's thinking to the next step. "Expert" will be hard for my 9 year old. A nice feature for parents/users is that this is a one person game. Or at least it's intended to be. There's no reason why two people couldn't work through a puzzle together; it would be a great way to use teamwork and share the logical thought process. But it's nice to have a game for kids that doesn't require a partner since a friend is not always around and a parent is not always available to play. But this is not just a kid's game. It should provide quite a bit of enjoyment to adults. A great way to keep the mind sharp! Like other ThinkFun games, all the pieces fit nicely in a cloth bag; so nice not to have yet another bulky broken box on the toyshelf.

I bought this game for my 4 year-old grandson because he loves to play Memory and it seemed that he might like this game as well. We have played it over and over without tiring of it. All members of our family enjoy it immensely.
The game is very easy to play and the rules are quick to learn. It's a simple game, but it isn't as easy as you might think so even adults and older children will be challenged. I would highly recommend this fun and inexpensive game!

It's all gone to the dogs in this super-sleuthy game. Sherlock is a dog detective that searches for clues. Every player tries to remember the objects hidden in a facedown circle of cards, and as Sherlock travels from one card to the other, players have to remember the picture on that card. When Sherlock hits a face-up card, the player gets to keep that card. The first to collect six cards wins. Playroom Entertainment. Ages: 5+
