ELFBALL Board Game (Starter Base Set) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Elves, dwarfs, gnomes with mecha, all meet on the a circular pitch to try to score a goal and win the "test" (games periods). First to a set number wins. This is a fast playing game that you never feel like you are completeley out of it, you opponent may fail a critical roll and if you are ready, you can capitolize on this and score in.
A great game that you can collect and paint the miniatures for. Plays in about an hour after you get the rules down and is a blast to play. Options for one offs, tournies and leagues are all there in a short 10 or so page rule book. If you like Grind by PP or Blood Bowl by GW, you should give this a try. Also if you have tried battle ball and are looking to move to a real miniatures game this is a great step up. Lots of deep strategy but nice consistant and balanced rules, this game stands out as a well designed sports simulation with the element of luck adding to the simulation rather than turning into a lesson on the probability of six sided dice. This game you have more of a gut feeling for die rolls rather than oh I have a 16% chance to fail this.
Overall, if you are looking for a fun miniatures game that plays quick and offers progression options this is well worth taking a look at.

NFL Generic Standing Board Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This NFL standing board is great. Years ago I had a smaller one, which was a rectangular piece of metal covered with paper with the divisions separated out...which at that time was three divisions and 26 teams. I have been looking around for years trying to find a new one with all the updated teams on it. The only thing I was a little off about was that the magnet helmets are rather cheap looking. I still have some of the magnet helmets from my old set and may use them...especially for my favorite team: Steelers!! Overall, this is much better than my old one. It is huge, and appears to be made very well and sturdy. I already have a spot picked out in our new home for it so it will be ready to use when we move in next year. I have also ordered another one for my son.

Nerf Cosmic Keep Away Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We just got this great game and my kids love it. They opened it, got the batteries in and were playing within minutes. I could hear them outside laughing and screaming. After about 15 minutes my oldest son (11) came in, covered with sweat, and said, "This is by far the best gift we have gotten!" I loved that they could figure it out themselves and that it was keeping them moving. It was a real workout! Great for my middle son, 9, who likes to play on the computer a bit too much. He was running around and laughing like crazy too. The boys even included their 5 y/o sister who had a blast. It is so cool how they wear colored bands on their hands and get to sign in by touching the ball. The ball calls out each color as they touch it. The game determines which color does what so no one can say someone isnt playing fair. Not one argument when they were playing. If you want a game that gets them moving and laughing this is the one!

From Nerf, this talking ball keeps kids moving in an out-of-this-world challenge. Cosmic Keep Away is like the game of catch, but with lots of fun twists. Just put on the bands, and keep up with the commands. There are three different ways to play. Includes electronic ball and 6 hand tags. Requires 4 "AA" batteries, not included.

Card Football - Premier Edition Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)First, some disclaimers: 1) I love football 2) I love any game I can get my wife to play 3) My wife likes, but does not love football.
I decided to pick up Card Football because of disclaimer #1. That being said, I assumed, like many other games, I would struggle to find someone to play with. I was also a little unsure at the concept of a poker oriented game crossed with football. Well, what a great surprise I found! Not only does this game capture a lot of the strategy and the excitement of football, but it is also a game my wife loves to play!
Card Football is built on the foundational rule of high card wins. Each card has the potential to be used for Offense, Defense, or Special Teams. So, when you are on offense, if you play a 6 of hearts and the defense plays a 4 of spades, you get to go 6 yards. Conversely, if you play the 4 and the defense plays the 6, you will be stopped for no yards. This is obviously a simple example and the game has the potential for long bombs, fumbles, interceptions, field goals, safeties, blitzes, etc., but it is all based on this simple concept. All that being said, this game requires a lot of strategy. Managing your high quality cards requires a lot of thought. Should you use them to cause a turnover on defense but then have no power for offense? Should you try for big plays on offense but then leave yourself open when it comes time to play defense?
The game comes with very high quality components and almost anything that happens in football is simulated in the game (up to and even including injuries). If you love football (or, even if you are like my wife and only "like" football) I can not recommend this game enough. Great fun!!

Jukem Football Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Jukem Football is such a great game! Although this game is an excellent gift for any football fan - it is a terrific game for families to play too. I have played the game with my family ages 9-65, and we all had a great time. One great thing about this game is that, while it is extremely fun to play, it can also teach kids math skills as you try to get enough yards to score a touchdown or field goal. I don't think you can go wrong getting this game for anyone who loves football.
