In reference to the comment about a toxic smell: the piano mat doesn't smell at all (and I am very sensitive to that). May be it was another brand, but the piano made by Smart Planet and sold by Back to Basics doesn't have any toxic or other smell. By the way it's cheaper on Amazon than their own website.

(More customer reviews)I got this product for my 12 month old daughter becuase i noticed what appeared to me to be musical ability and she loves it. She can play a song and then pound a rythm on the keys along with the song and she then, or the musician in her, also keeps time by taping the feet.
I love it becuase i am threilled to see her enjoying it so much, but also because it so piano like . I can really see that she has a little music thing going on .. so we'll see what the furture holds.
i have only had it for a month so i can't speak to durability beyond the fact that my daughter throws it down just as often as she plays it and it is still working
