First off, I like to begin that the rules are a little vague especially for first time players. Even though I've played a few versions of Game of Life, some of the changes left me scratching my head.
During my first play-through with my housemates and friends, we've encounter all sorts of problems. From the very start, it was confusing. If there are 6 players or even if 3 players decided to go to college, there isn't enough bank loan paper for each player.
The next problem were the stop sign next to the orange spot. Some of the stops signs were place before the orange and some were after. So it was rather confusing if you had to stop before the sign or on the orange spot at some point. The rules also wasn't too clear if you had to get married.
Another problem was again, the bank loan, if enough players sue one player during the game, one player could potentially be in debt taking up all the bank loans. Then when players are force to upgrade their house, the player in debt will ultimately be, for the lack of better term, completely screwed because those houses are expensive.
Later on was the going back to college route, if there are six players who went to college, no one can change their job since there are only 6 jobs in the college career deck unless someone loses their job. Everyone is force to only get a salary raise instead.
Pros:
-Lawsuit, this is fun but can lead to problems with the game as I stated above.
-More squares than previous iteration.
-Nice design
-Spin to Win
-Job Raises
Cons:
-Not enough bank loans
-You have to take on College Career if you go to College
-Removal of Salary Cards
-Removal of Life Accomplishment on the Life tiles
-You have to upgrade the house
-Removal of Job perks (except Cops) such as taking money from players if other players landing on a doctor related square when you're a doctor
-The flaws I mention above
While, players can move away from the rules, I feel the game could have kept more of the original Game of Life instead of taking away some of the things that made it more fun.
