Zombies Review

Twilight Production's "Zombies!!!" is a lot like Monopoly. The rules are simple and anyone can learn to play, but it lends itself well to inventing your very own "house rules" and there are a number of ways to backstab your friends.
Play goes like this; at the begining of each turn you place a new map tile down and put the appropriate number of zombies and tokens on it. This assures a different map each time you play. Then you draw event cards which can be used to aid you or bring a whole world of hurt to other players. After that you roll for movement, combat zombies (a roll of 1,2, or 3 means you lose while a 4, 5, or 6 means you win) and roll again to see how many zombies YOU get to move. You can either move them out of your way, twords your friends, or even twords yourself. The game is won when someone reaches the center of the "helipad" tile (thus escaping the city) or kills a certain number of zombies.
"Zombies!!!" is a bit on the gory side (obviously, given the subject matter) so it may not be for young kids or those not fond of the undead. It is, however, quite a blast to play. I highly reccomend this game. The action is intense, the rules are simple, and it's got a good combination of strategy and luck.

Your heart pounds in your chest and you are finding it very hard to breathe. The zombies are everywhere and seem quite intent on making you lunch. With so many of them, it's hard to tell if the scraping footsteps and moaning are down the hall or just around the corner. One thing is for sure, they are too close for comfort, you are almost out of bullets and your luck seems to have just about run its course! Zombies puts you in the middle of the action as you try to escape the ever-advancing zombie hoard. Players must use a combination of wits and brawn to be the first to the heliport an certain escape. The only problem is, the zombies are everywhere, they appear to be very hungry and your opponents would really prefer if you didn't escape. The game, for two to six players, features an ever-changing map and an ever-growing army of the undead. Players take turns playing map tiles, placing zombies, running furiously, fighting and generally creating havoc for the opposition. Combined, this makes Zombies a different game every time you play it.

Zombies 3 Mall Walkers 2nd ed Review

Zombies 3 Mall Walkers 2nd ed

Product:
Zombies 3!!! Mall Walkers with 16 New Tile Maps and 32 Event Cards, adds little more depth and complexity to Zombies!!!, much like its predecessor did, Zombies!!! 2 -Zombie Corps(e), but in a slightly different way. This time around players may choose to start their journey inside the mall (as a standalone game and/or combined with Z & Z2) or incorporate it as an alternative escape route as the original Zombies game expands (though zombies, life tokens and bullets are not provided with this expansion). New rules are added in attempt to clarify/ stream line the game for a faster, more fun pace. The mall has its own helipad as escape route, but players (in addition to obtaining 25 kills), now have an optional bonus scenarios of 'Search and Rescue' and 'Kill the Guy with the keys,' which depending on how the game is played, changes up the dynamic of game a player(s) experiences. Players do need the original game to play even if playing as a standalone game.
Quality:
The cards and tiles are similar to the previous zombies (2nd ed) and zombies 2 (2nd ed) and probably hold up just the same if you own either of those. Overall the cards are similar to a regular deck of playing cards in terms of construction and the tiles have great designs, but are rather thin and seem to slide on some surfaces rather easily (i.e. wooden kitchen tables). With standard care, some routine wear and tear, I would expect both items to hold up just fine for the long haul.
Overall: Great addition if you like the original game (even better if you own other expansions). Any general zombie fan or Zombies game player (I'm both) will probably find this worth the price. The cards add plenty of depth and make getting a 25 zombie kill count win easier as well as the ability to expand for customizable central or personal playing decks.
Side note: I enjoy reading the short story provided with each expansion instruction pamphlet. If you don't have extra zombies (additional bag), then I recommend those because your standard issue zombie supply will run short if you have multiple players.

Zombies 3.5 Not Dead Yet Review

Zombies 3.5 Not Dead Yet

This is a good Addition to Zombies!!! You will need the main game to play with this expansion. At first glance this expansion seems stupid, all it really is is 25 more cards for your Main Game, with a set of doubles. here are also rules for a "Constructed Deck" version of the Zombies!!! I think the "Constructed Deck" rules are unnecessary, and were probably added to attract players of collectible card games. Still the twenty five cards included in this set add a lot of variation to the game. I only give it 4 out of five stars because of the cost. For $[...] they could have printed the cards on a more durable playing card stock. Other than that , thumbs up!

Zombies 2 - Zombie Corps(e) 2nd Ed Review

Zombies 2 - Zombie Corps(e) 2nd Ed

If you've played Zombies!!! but found it lacking in the strategy department, this expansion will give you what you need. The new event cards are enough by themselves, but with the addition of new map tiles, you can pursue a whole new course in the game. With this and the 3.5 expansion, after editing the deck down (removed about 20 cards), we were able to squeeze more variety into our game. Some of my friends worked towards the military base, attempting to hit the motor pool for the added movement, others chased after the helipad, while I made full use of the new event cards and scored my 25 zombie kills (which is a lot more feasible with the expansion).
The addition of the super zombies is actually very nice, as well; being able to harass your friends with a few fast-moving and hard to kill zombies makes for a new way to annoy your competition.
