Fisher-Price World of Little People Learn About Town Review

I like this toy because my two-year-old twins can play with it at the same time without arguing. We got it last week, and it's still the main draw in the playroom. It comes with a boy and a girl doll, and a 4-part town for them to explore: a school, the dentist and doctor, the pet store and a pizza shop, and a swing under an apple tree.
A voice counts out loud as you push apples into the tree, and my son loves this best. My daughter likes to put the dolls in the pizza shop, and put the pizzas in the oven. They love pushing anything that results in a song, voice or sound, and there's lots of that here. I'm not sure this toy would hold the attention of 5-year-olds, but I think it's perfect for 2-3 year olds.

In this tiny town, kids learn all sorts of lessons through interactive play. Little ones learn ABCs, numbers, colors, shapes and more in a unique format that unfolds for all-around playset play. Start at the doctor and dentist offices with a weight scale and dentist chair. Then grab a snack at the shape-sorting pizza shop with four different shaped pizza disks and a shape identifier. Stop and see the animals at the sort-and-match pet shop with an interactive cash register. At the ABC school, kids learn the full alphabet and practice writing letters on the magnetic drawing board. Push on the tower to hear the entire ABC song. At the numbers treehouse, drop the 10 apple disks through the tree and the playset counts along; then press the lever to release them into the bushel. There's also an open/close door and swing for Little People figures. And at the interactive traffic signal, push down for a learning tune. Fun tunes and sound effects along the way highlight learning in each location. Includes two articulated Little People figures, table, two chairs, easel, tricycle, 10 "apple" disks and four pizza disks. Folds closed for storage with handle. Measures 44"L x 12"W x 15"H. Requires three "AA" batteries, included.

Convertibles 4x4 Truck Review

My son just received this for his birthday and liked the story OK, but he loved it when I rolled it out on the floor to play cars on. When I turned it inside out and made a truck out of it, you would have thought he'd won the lottery. When he's all done for the day, it folds back up neatly into a book for easy storage.
What a neat concept and one your child won't get bored with, because it can be used 3 ways. Reasonably priced, too!

Grades Pre-K and up. Each big, beautifully illustrated Convertible does triple duty as a story book, a playmat, and a kid-sized 3-D vehicle! Read it page by page, and you're transported into an exciting action-adventure story--offroading through fields and streams or careening to the scene of a fire. Unfold the storybook into a long stretch of playmat pavement, and let the kids run their mini-cars over the story's terrain. Made of heavy-duty cardboard, each Convertible folds and snaps together easily into a fire engine or offroad truck, just big enough for the preschool set to climb inside for some driving fun!
