(More customer reviews)"Take a Chance" is a fun dice game that takes the idea of Yahtzee and adds money to the equation. The object of the game is to win more money than your opponents. There are cards you can buy that have different dice combos on them like 3 of a kind, full house, a straight of six, and so on. Each combo you roll awards you a certain amount of money, but you have to own the card that that particular combo is on in order to get paid for rolling it. The cards come in six different colors, and the more colors you own the more dice you can roll. That gives you an opportunity to roll more dice, which gives you an opportunity to roll bigger combos that are worth a lot of money like 5 odd numbers or 6 of a kind or 2 three of a kinds. Also, each player has their own pile of "Take a Chance" tickets that they can choose to draw from during their turn. These are always faced down, so you won't know what they will say until you decide to draw one from your pile. Most of these can help you acquire more cards or help you win more money on that turn. It helps to draw these tickets early in the game, but you don't want to draw all of them from your pile too quickly. The game ends when a player decides to draw the last ticket from their pile. Each player gets one more turn after that.
There are some minor issues I have with the game. There doesn't seem to be enough money included with the game. Sometimes when I play this game we'll have issues running out of money, or at least coming close to doing that, because of how much each player will be winning. That brings me to my next issue; although the game is called "Take a Chance," it's real easy to win a whole lot of money throughout the game, because of all the combos there are and all the dice you can roll and, as I mentioned earlier, the "Take a Chance" tickets can be real helpful. There doesn't seem to be much of a risk factor involved in this game like there is with most dice games.
Overall, "Take a Chance" can be a real entertaining and somewhat unpredictable game. There's a combination of luck and strategy involved as you try to win more money than your opponents. The best thing about it is you're winning lots of money. Granted it's not real, but still, who doesn't enjoy that?
