(More customer reviews)I bought this game recently with a coupon I got for Borders Bookstore. The object is simple - name three things that fit in a specific category in five seconds. Not as easy as it sounds, especially if the category is not your cup of tea. Sample categories are Name Three:
Army Generals
Produce Items
Dairy Products
U. S. astronauts
Deaceased Celebrities
Beach Boys songs
Dr. Seuss books
Things you do alone
The responses someone gave to the last one I can't print here. It can be a challenge. Here's the challenging part. If the first player cannot come up with three answers, it passes to the next player, who CANNOT repeat the answers already said. This could cause problems with categories that have a limit of answers, like Signs of the Zodiac. According to the rules, if the categories gets played by all players and no one gives three acceptable answers, the player who originally got the category gets it by default. One player who just didn't follow the Beach Boys couldn't complete that card, I aced it and got it.
You can play as many rounds as you like. A round is defined as everyone being given a category to start with. Naming three answers gets the card for you and play passes to the next player. I originally thought you kept going, but a call to Patch Products said no. This isn't made too clear in the rules, in my opinion. NOTE: if more than one player misses a category, the next category begins with the next person whose turn it would be after the last player. This may not necessarily be the person who got the card. It may sound strange but once you play the game, it will be clear to you.
The one with the most cards at the end wins. The timer makes a strange noise when it's turned over. You won't be able to hear the noise in a loud environment. When the little balls or marbles reach the bottom, your time is up. Five seconds goes by quickly. I've played this game several times and it's gotten pretty good reviews. This is one of the games that is fun, but not always as easy as it seems.
