My Dog Has Fleas Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this toy for my three year old grandson for Christmas. He had fun playing with it. The fleas would sometimes fall off before we (yes I played with them) had a chance to turn the dog's tail. The tail was very hard to turn for a three year old but his six year old brother could turn it without much trouble. Also we had to hold on to the dog to keep it steady on the floor while the tail was turned. All in all we had a great time and lots of laughs.

(More customer reviews)My four year old daughter pulled this out of a closet to play. It was the first time I had seen it and was pleasantly surprised by its colorful presentation of the characters in a Christmas atmosphere. The game play if fairly easy to understand, even for a 4 year old. Collect candy canes and "gifts" by landing on certain squares, then the first player to give three gifts to other players and return to the home square wins.
However I noticed something that hit me like a ton of bricks which is why I gave it three stars. The game manufacturer totally caved into "political "correctness which always drives me nuts. If any one has actually seen the show, the whole point is to explain to Charlie Brown that the real meaning of Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ. Period. They all shout out "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown"! However squares you land are called "Happy Holidays" and the cards you draw from say "Seasons Greeting". NOWHERE in the game does it say "Merry Christmas". This lack of willingness to say "Merry Christmas" because they are too afraid they might "offend" someone is completely contrary to the message of the show. So I finished the game, but it didn't leave me feeling great about playing it.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Board Game Review

(More customer reviews)I got this for my almost 6 year old and he loves it. With 3 levels of play, he hasn't been bored yet (nor have I). Most of these liscensed games are pretty lame, but this one is different each time you play and he loves the "battles". It even teaches a little bit about strategy, math and teamwork! Now that can't be bad. It is durable enough that my 2 year old can help play (she rolls the dice for the bad guys). And at just under $6, it is an excellent birthday gift for the turtle lover on your list!!
