(More customer reviews)I got this for my almost 6 year old and he loves it. With 3 levels of play, he hasn't been bored yet (nor have I). Most of these liscensed games are pretty lame, but this one is different each time you play and he loves the "battles". It even teaches a little bit about strategy, math and teamwork! Now that can't be bad. It is durable enough that my 2 year old can help play (she rolls the dice for the bad guys). And at just under $6, it is an excellent birthday gift for the turtle lover on your list!!

In the heart of the city, a towering skyscraper houses the evil Shredder, finalizing his plans to take over the world. Carmen Sandiego USA Junior Edition (Board Game) Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my 4 1/2 year old son this summer because he was (and remains) obsessed with geography in general and the 50 states in particular. He loves it. The rest of us, however, don't. The instructions are inadequate and the purpose of the game is just too basic. By the way, the instructions do tell you where to begin--in the state where you live or where you are currently playing the game. My son lives for the day when we will take the game to another state so he can start in a different state. But the instructions do not say anything about how you are supposed to get to Hawaii and Alaska. And the fact that some of the states are combined into groupings has been a little confusing for my son. I think if the company had designed the board better, with less space wasted on the picture of Carmen SanDiego, the map could have been larger thus negating the necessity of combining smaller states. Anyway. We have logged a lot of hours on this game over the past few months. We've changed the rules to make it more interesting, but even so, it gets rather boring. I would give the game 1 star, but I can't discount the fact that my son does love it so much.

(More customer reviews)This is a great item for a Transformer's fan, but defiantly not for someone who intends to use this to actually play chess. Each piece has the symbol of the chess piece it represents, but it does become a bit of a hassle to constantly check which piece is what short of memorizing which transformer represents each piece.
The pieces are a sort of soft plastic material, and the whole set has a smell of spray paint. Again, great collectors item, but not recommended for those who wish to play chess with this chess set.
