(More customer reviews)I have used Crayola chalkboard chalk for years, along with several other brands. I have used all of the past types of Crayola chalkboard chalk - white Anti-Dust, white AN-DU-SEPTIC, yellow Sight-Saver, and mellow gold EZ-SYTE. In the past, I can confidently say Crayola chalk was the best. However, THE RECIPE HAS BEEN CHANGED. I tend to think it probably happened when Binney & Smith became no longer associated with Crayola. This new chalk that is being sold as the white AN-DU-SEPTIC is absolutely NOT the same white AN-DU-SEPTIC that Crayola used to manufacture. This new chalk is grainy, softer, and contains hard spots that scratch and damage the chalkboard writing surface. I don't know what they have done, but the chalk recipe has been changed, and this new stuff is nothing but chalkboard-damaging junk. It really is sad because what was once a great product has been turned into a third-rate product. Because of this, I have made a move to another brand and absolutely WILL NOT allow Crayola chalk to be used on my chalkboards. They are entirely too expensive to get damaged and scratched.
