The premise for this game is relatively simple. A married individual has to answer a multiple-choice question from one of six categories (Romance, Finances, Family, Faith, etc.), and their spouse has to answer the same question, trying to match answers. Points are awarded for matching answers.
The rules describe two different ways that the game can be played, either with couples competing against each of the other couples (when only the couples answer the questions) or individuals competing against each other (with everybody answering and trying to match one spouse's answer). We actually combined and played both ways, so the couples were trying to match answers, but everybody else was trying to match up with the person whose turn it was. It was fun to not only see how the spouses did but to see how well we all knew each other. Playing as individuals would probably not work for groups that don't know each other well.
I was a bit skeptical, as most "Christian" games that I have played in the past have been relatively cheesy. However, "Couplez" is basically a game for couples without the inappropriate sexual questions in most games of this nature. Some of the questions were boring or silly, and a few of the more personal questions could be embarrassing, as it could be awkward to have your spouse publically state that you don't respond well to crises. Overall, though, we laughed a lot and got to know our spouses and each other better. This game isn't among my favorites, but I'm glad that we played it...
