If they would come out with a completely revised edition of the rules (and throw in a few more plastic boxes for the character pieces), it would be perfect. In the mean time, you can consult the official website for expanded instructions as well as downloadable templates to keep your characters and progress organized. That website has been an invaluable resource.
That being said, the hubby and I cannot get enough of this game!! Yes, it can be frustrating to learn, but once you get the hang of everything, you can play this game over and over and over and never have the same game twice. Also, different characters win in different ways, so your end goal can change from game to game! Sometimes the game lasts 15 minutes, sometimes 3 hours. You can control the length of the game by adjusting the board size to your taste.
This is not really a "family game night" or a quick, easy game of Sorry! or Uno. It's a pretty complex game with a lot of nuances, but WELL worth the effort!!!
