(More customer reviews)Yes, you will think of Tetris when you first play this game, but actually, this game is much better. First, the design of the game is great. The playing pieces, although plastic, are heavy and feel good in the hands, and although the bases are thin plastic, the design is well-thought-out so that the board can change as the game progresses, and the pieces can slide down easily over the different game boards. I did not put five stars for durability because if the base was stepped on, it would squash (it would be better in wood), but the box is sturdy, so as long as you put it away carefully, I envision the game lasting a long time.
This game differs from Tetris in that (1) there are no time constraints (I am not a fan of games that reward the speediest participant). The next card is not drawn until everyone has placed their piece on their board. (2) You cannot slide the pieces sideways to fill in holes which makes it more challenging. (3) The pieces vary in the number of blocks that make them up (not all are composed of four squares). Since each player starts with a different piece, no one really has an advantage, but the round will play substantially differently for each player.
Some of the things I especially like about this game are:
1. It can be played equally well with 2 - 4 players.
2. It only takes 30 - 45 minutes.
3. It takes some strategizing and planning ahead but isn't too taxing so you can play to relax.
4. I love the four different boards used in the different rounds of play. Each board has a different set of markings so that the strategy of the game changes with each round. You have to figure out whether you would do better to leave certain squares exposed or covered depending on the positive or negative point value of the square...a bit like scrabble. And then, near the end of the round, you will know exactly which pieces you have left to play which again will cause you to adjust your strategy. So although you may only play the game for 30 minutes, the game keeps changing so that it feels like you've played many games in a short time.
We played this game at "ladies game night" with a group of four middle-aged science/math teachers, and we had a ball!

Can you skillfully fill in your playing board so that all the differently shaped tiles fit perfectly without leaving any spaces?! If a piece doesn't fit precisely, slot it in the best you can because the game's not over yet. The next tile may fit better than the last and make you the winner! FITS is a lot of fast-paced fun with just a few easy rules for non-stop entertainment!
