(More customer reviews)I first met Blaine about five years ago. I was at Cali Beach with my then girlfriend, Barbie. It was a hot day, so i was rubbing sunblock on her back. Suddenly, a shadow was cast over us. It was Blaine. He told me that losers like us weren't allowed on his beach, and that this was his "turf." He then kicked sand into my face. I did what any man would do in that situation, I challenged him to a surf off. "Noon tomorrow," he said as he laughed and ran his hand through his hair.
I didn't sleep a wink that night. All I could think about was how much i wanted to win. Needed to win.
When we arrived at the beach it was packed. But all i could see is Blaine and my board. "Let's end this." I said. He smirked and replied "Ladies first." I grabbed my board and jogged into the ocean. The sound of crashing waves somehow calmed me. I caught my first wave only a few minutes in, but it was nothing special. I needed to wait for the big one if I had any chance of beating him. It took what seemed like forever before it came. I heard it first, like a thunderous fist it slammed into me. It dragged me under the water. I almost drowned. When i awoke I was on the beach again, coughing up water. Blaine was there, laughing, with his arm around my girlfriend. They left together and I haven't seen either one of them since.
Everyday I relive that pain and I wait for my revenge.

Polly Pocket Designables Courtyard and Mall Shops Review

The material is made from thick, durable plastic - it looks kind of flimsy in the picture but was it actually has very good build quality - meaning, I expect it to last for several years. You can either stack the sets vertically or attach it next to the main mall. Also, when you put some of the sets together, all of the rooms light up up e.g. dance studio which is pretty cool. It comes with tons of accessories including an escalator (you crank it), 6 Polly Pocket dolls, and even a gum ball machine (with tiny little gum balls that you can shake)and a basketball hoop. It is sure to provided hours and hours of entertainment for your Polly Pocket fan. I think she paid $69 which seems like a great deal since the individual rooms sell for over $20. The only other thing I might purchase is one of the cars for the dolls...otherwise, it's pretty much a COMPLETE SET !

(More customer reviews)First I would like to say that this set is very cute and my daughter loved it,very nice.Now with that out of the way,I bought it in store for less than half the price here,Don't pay the $[...] for it here.If you look around you will find a much better deal.All 3 dolls are very cute and nice looking,great for the price I paid.It also comes with some really cute accessories like,2 pair of arm floaties that you just slide on,2 pair of goggles(so cute on the dolls!),a floatie,a body board that has slots too hold the Kelly's hands in.Barbie even has a whistle and of course the small kiddie pool.One thing I don't get about the toy is you can connect either the floatie or the body board to the side of the pool and move it along like they are swimming but you can only move it from inside by pushing the doll,you can do that without the little attatchment.It would have been better if there were a little lever on the outside of the pool that you could move the doll along with.But still for what you get it is very nice and we are very pleased with this purchase.

(More customer reviews)My five year old daughter had this high on her list and was tremendously excited to get it. The cost of the game is inflated by the unneccessary remote control included (and which you have to take time to set up) but it functioned well. So did the game which has cute questions that range enough in difficulty to even engage adults. However, on successive plays we noted that the questions on the dvd come up in the same order, starting from the beginning each time. There is no shuffle or randomization of the questions. (In Scene It, for example, you encounter some of this sometime, but not to this degree). So each time you play, question one through whatever will be the same and in the same order.
There is no telling how many questions are on the disk (nothing reports that) but since it could be thousands, would it have been too much to ask Disney to build in a way to view different questions? The only option you have is to play each and skip each of the 20 -30 questions you went through in the game you played the first time and then use quesitons 30 - 50. Then the next game you could take another 20 minutes to individually forward through the first 50 questions to get a new set. (Imagine playing solitare and having the same set of cards come up in the same order each time. Quickly boring.
I plan on tryting to return the set, though my daughter is engaged by its beauty and the princess clips and questions (however, even she found the problem exasperating). You struck out on this one, Disney, even though you had it all going for you to start. Sad.

Disney Cars: Later Mater Game Review

(More customer reviews)At first glance this seems like a cute, simple to play toy for the Cars fanatic in your life. In reality it is a cheaply made waste of your finances. Not all the parts click into place as they should, even when they are in the right spot. I just let my kids put the parts on without the timer. Once they were finished we put the timer on and waited for parts to fly... and did they ever fly. Luckily my daughter was wearing her glasses, or she would have taken a small plastic blast to the eye. I don't recommend this toy for anyone. There are so many other good, fun Cars toys out there. Don't waste your time on this one!

(More customer reviews)My 5 and 7 year old daughters absolutely love playing this game -- there is not much educational value, but what's wrong with Imagination, family members interacting, friendly competition and playing with cute little polly pocket dolls??? That is JUST AS IMPORTANT as what most would call "educational." (and can you believe that parent's review that says she's upset about the SUV?? give me a break and relax a little!)
As others have said, you move your Polly to each "store" on the board, draw a card, and if the appropriate piece of clothing is there, you can dress your polly with it and move on. What's wrong with that? It's fun, my girls enjoy it, and we play and laugh together -- I feel like waking them up now so we can play a late night game of Fashion Beach -- they'd love it! Play it with your kids, enjoy their company and innosence and don't worry that the paper picture of an SUV is going to corrupt their morals!!

It's simple enough for the five year old to play her own hand, fast paced enough that the adults don't get bored. In poor lighting it can be difficult to make out the Spin emblem on the cards.
The only problem with this game is the packaging. It's utterly useless as a storage container and the size and shape of the game make it difficult to find some other option for keeping it all together.

Mattel High School Musical DVD Board Game 2 Review

The Dance category is hard, since they show the dance clip, and you choose the correct sequence, but the 3 stationary pictures in each sequence choice often look very similar. It IS an improvement over HSM 1's dance category, where all they did was list the next dance move in sequence...I still have no idea what some of those moves are called.
The HSM 1 game had an extra where the 'gang' would teach the dance moves to 2-3 of the songs...that alone was worth getting the game. Unfortunately, this one doesn't. What it DOES have, however, are interviews with the HSM 2 characters talking about their time on the set, recounting little stories. This happens randomly during the game, and is an interesting diversion. I like 'Fulton' as narrator better than the drama teacher from the first movie. The game format is slightly different than HSM 1, but the basics are the same. You do have to work the remote more in this game than HSM 1. Definitely worth it for the HSM 2 tweener in your life.

I see great potential for this to be an adult drinking game, but I don't believe my son will have the coordination for this game until he is about 7 or 8 or older. My husband and I enjoyed being silly with it, but also had a hard time shooting the frogs. It is not for small children. Also, each player has to be a certain distance away from the game and so it is not a good table game.

Disney Pictionary DVD Game Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this game at Target on Black Friday after seeing it in their ad. I read the bos at the store and thought it would be a great game. I love Pictionary but I'm not good at drawing.
When I got the purchase home, I put in the DVD and watched the "How to Play." As on the front of the box, it showed SKETCHES being done to guess the answer. When I went to play the game, there are NOT sketches. It takes an image from a Disney movie, blurs it until it is impossible to guess what it is and give you 15 seconds to guess. It takes until it gets down to about 3 seconds left to know what it is. At the point that you can tell what it is, it goes from being blurry to being so obvious that everyone can tell what it is and answers at the exact same time.
The product is not AT ALL what it is described as.
Additionally, it is supposedly broken up into 2 levels "Classic Disney" and newer pictures (don't remember the actual title of this section) but it was described as having things from newer films, such as the Disney-Pixar collaborations. We played Classic Disney because some of the people playing hadn't seen the newer Pixar movies. However, there were characters from Lilo and Stitch, Mulan, and Monsters, Inc. which are definitely not Classic Disney.
My final issue, still relating to "Classic Disney" is the specific detail expected for the level supposedly for children as young as 7. One of the pictures we had for "Thing" was a still movie image of Mary Poppins from the waist up holding her umbrella and the correct answer was "Mary Poppin's Hat."
The game that we expected to be fun turned out to just be frustrating. I'm selling it on Ebay.

Mattel 1 Vs. 100 DVD Board Game Review

So at first seeing this game, I was a bit worried it would be another travesty like the growing list of the poorly designed and executed Imagination DVD "games". However, I was very pleasantly surprised at first play.
The folks at Mattel did a wonderful job! This is most likely the first DVD game in the US that is not only faithful to the game, but is fun, and for the first time, it's a DVD game with actual interactivity! Something that is not often seen in DVD "games" these days. Plus it's also one of the first DVD games I've seen with a rock solid one player option.
The questions in this game have never repeated in repeated plays. Also, the game is also so well designed, that it played on every DVD player I tried it on with no errors or flaws. This is another terrific plus.
Pick this up! It's quite possibly the best American DVD game to date!
