The Price is Right Game; 1998 Edition Review

The Price is Right Game; 1998 Edition
Average Reviews:

"The Price is Right" has lasted for nearly 30 years on CBS because it's fun to watch other people win stuff. Especially when they act foolish doing it. You lose that part of the game when you play at home. You also get the anti-climactic finish of not actually winning anything. But, it's a nice diversion from time to time. For the game show home game collector, this is a must. For the rest of you... probably not.

Pressman Toys 1 vs 100 Review

Pressman Toys 1 vs 100
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Very few people will have 102 people at their disposal to be able to accurately recreate an episode from 1 vs. 100. Pressman Toy, however, has created an ingenious way of incoporating the spirit of "The Mob" in this home version of the game show.
The game is played with one person being the contestant and the other players representing "The Mob." A complete game involves each player having a turn at being the contestant. While the box and included instructions limit the game to a maximum of four players, the game easily could be extended to include more players, although the game time will be very lengthy to complete a full circuit with more than four players.
The mob members begin each round with a set number of "votes." Each vote represents 1 of the 100 members of the mob. With this one exception, the game plays very similarly to the game show. The introduction of these votes lends a very authentic feel to the game - the contestant really feels like he or she is battling 100 people instead of just the handful of people in the room.
Pressman Toy always has developed exceptional home game versions of game shows (most notably their versions of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire"). This game is no exception. Every person playing the game gets a chance to be involved every step of the way. The game is very well done. I highly recommend it to any fan of the show.

It's you against the mob in this exciting home version of NBC's new trivia game show. With over 800 questions, every player gets chance to be a contestant and every player gets to control the mob. The value increases, but the questions get tougher. Know when to stop and keep your (pretend) money. Take it too far and the mob splits it!

My Brother gave me a few DVD games-Deal or No Deal, Price is Right and this one--of the three, the Deal is weak...SO LETS NOT MAKE A DEAL!
I love Monty Hall. When I was a kid, I use to watch Lets Make A Deal..and love it! I would play along and say make the deal, watch out, etc
Now to the DVD game...Even through it has host Monty Hall which brings back memories of the clkassic show. However this DVD seem to repeat itself and gets boring really fast. and there are more zonks than prizes. I will take door number four... the one not playing this game--and if you are smart you will too
If you take this DEAL, you will be the WEAKEST LINK-BYE BYE!

Alright,
You enjoy TPiR. You want this game. But you've read very bad reviews on this item (as all DVD games usually get.) But listen, they're wrong. I got this item for my birthday, & I had about 7 or 8 people there. Pratically as soon as I opened it,6/7-8 played this. We all had a good time. Our winner won more than $31,000. The only 2 prolems our you have to remember how much in cash & prizes you've won, & you have to keep picking contestants row. Other than that ( & the fact Todd Newton replaced Bob Barker,) it's the best game Endless Games has made yet.
Allen Barber (the one who brought you that 1 vs 100 review.)

iToys 1 vs. 100 Tabletop Game Review

iToys 1 vs. 100 Tabletop Game

I'm afraid 'Jonathan Jonathan' did not read his instructions when he opened his box. The game has 1200 built in questions with answers when you power it up. I love playing this game with my family. The adults team up with the little ones (ages 6-12) for some interesting fun. Sometimes they know the answer (ie: What's blue, wears a white hat and lives in the forest?) and leave us scratching our heads. I didn't know the cartridges were never developed but the game is still alot of fun and not just a heap of plastic. Hope this helps.

iToys Inc Price Is Right Electronic Tabletop Game Review

iToys Inc Price Is Right Electronic Tabletop Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)

I have two components to my review...first one of the product, then a separate one on the seller, in this case amazon.com.
There have been several home games for The Price is Right, both the older Bill Cullen version and the revamped Bob Barker/ Dennis James et. al. version. It's a tough game to capture in a box...the editions that I have really require a lot of setup. We really liked the recent Endless Games version, but we spent more time in set up than in playing the actual game, so it hasn't left the cabinet in a while.
Irwin Toys electronic games are, with the exception of the dreadful "Family Feud" electronic game, pretty good, and this is no exception. The show's most popular games are included. Everything from items up for bid, to the pricing games themselves and the showcases are represented on cards. The players type in a numeric code, and you simply play along. It works quite well. My only problem is that when the digital text is rolling on the screen it really cannot be read, which is important when there are numbers that you need. That needs improved if they produce another edition. Clock game is a bit goofy, but after several plays we nailed it...it simply requires as much concentration as it does on the show. Of course, the hit in our house is Plinko. Owners should make sure you keep a baggie to keep the Plinko chips in.
My only beef with this product is from Amazon.com. The price for this thing fluctuated like a yo-yo. I bought it at what I thought was a good price, only for it to go down another $5 overnight. As amazon has done away with its noble price protection, they would not credit that difference. But as the price I paid was half off suggested retail, I'm not to miffed. I just suggest that amazon.com look at reviewing their price-protection policy again, as their decision makes me a bit wary.
If you like TPIR, grab a copy of this. You'll really like it...a great way to spend a few hours.

Mattel 1 Vs. 100 DVD Board Game Review

Mattel 1 Vs. 100 DVD Board Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In this age, DVD game shows are being rapidly released with quantity in mind and little concern to quality. So at first seeing this game, I was a bit worried it would be another travesty like the growing list of the poorly designed and executed Imagination DVD "games". However, I was very pleasantly surprised at first play.
The folks at Mattel did a wonderful job! This is most likely the first DVD game in the US that is not only faithful to the game, but is fun, and for the first time, it's a DVD game with actual interactivity! Something that is not often seen in DVD "games" these days. Plus it's also one of the first DVD games I've seen with a rock solid one player option.
The questions in this game have never repeated in repeated plays. Also, the game is also so well designed, that it played on every DVD player I tried it on with no errors or flaws. This is another terrific plus.
Pick this up! It's quite possibly the best American DVD game to date!

The 1 Vs. 100 DVD Board Game by Mattel is based on the hit NBC TV show. Ideal for ages 13 and up, this interactive game allows players to compete against the Mob as they answer trivia questions that range from easy to difficult. How it's Played In this DVD game, host Bob Saget asks players multiple-choice trivia questions, as they compete against 100 Mob members. The object of the game is to eliminate the entire Mob and win up to $1,000,000 in pretend money. The host asks the player and the Mob the same multiple-choice trivia question. If the player gets it right, they win money for each Mob member that answered incorrectly, plus eliminates those Mob members from the game. If the player gets the question wrong, the Mob splits the winnings and the game is over. At certain points, the player will have opportunities to stop the game and leave with their winnings or risk all of their winnings and play for more money. This game is fun for the whole family and provides hours of intense entertainment for one to seven players. The Money or the MobTaking on the mob is no easy task. Interactive mob members challenge contestants, taunt them, and give advice that may or may not be correct. For family fun, players can also compete against a home mob made up of other players or choose to be in the home mob. Just like on the popular TV show, the money increases the more questions that are answered correctly, but so does the pressure! To stay in the game, the player must answer every trivia question right. But the most important question is, does the contestant want the money or the Mob? What's in the Box DVD game and player cards.

Best of Match Game DVD Collection
This is a fun party game, especially for people of the generation that watched this gameshow on TV back in the 70's. I was a little disappointed the music wasn't the funkiest version, but a tamer one. It also felt a little slow paced. Not sure why there are freeze frames of the panel members- you hear the audio but their image is frozen- a minor distraction.
There are 25 versions to play- once you've done them all you're not likely to play any of them again so this is perhaps good for one or two (drinking) games- still making it a good value.
