(More customer reviews)When I saw this board I had to have it. It is a great idea and it is made of good wood as it is heavy for its size. The only problem I had was very minor the packaging had a hole in it and one marble was no where to be found but that could happne to any seller and I am not upset,\. the next time i go to walmart i will pick up a bag to keep in our game part box. i keep score sheets penicils dice paper etc in a little leather covered box so we know where those things are. Anyway I love this board. I am going through chemo for cancer and we ordered several games to help the time be more bearable for me. This is one of my favorite choices.

(More customer reviews)I was looking for something for my dad who has dementia. His lack of concentration, inability to keep up or remove pieces in other games, made it hard to interact in a fun game together. Also his dexterity, his skills in handling game pieces was slow and wavering. This game offered him a large board he could see well, large pieces with large holes that he could handle well without knocking anything over and there was only one goal--to move your pieces across the board. There was nothing to remove, no money to count, nothing to keep up with except where you are going to move next. It has allowed us to have fun over a game again. This game is well made. The only thing that would make it better is if it came with something to put the pieces in. Before this, Domino's was the only game he could keep up with and enjoy. The large size and easy to handle pieces make this game a good choice for younger children as well. Actually, it is a great game for all ages.

Deluxe Chinese Checkers Game is solid light tan grained wood board 1 inch thick board. Pegs are 2 inches high and 3/8 inch in diameter at base of peg. Pegs are very easy to handle and stay in place if table is bumped. Holes in board are 1/2 inch diameter. Pegs fit holes loosely. The 121 holes in game board resemble a star. Packaged in a plain cardboard box.

(More customer reviews)It should not say 'LARGE' Chinese Checkers, as it is small, smaller than I was hoping for. I should have read the description better than I did. But, otherwise, I am pleased with it. I notice that some people, regarding other Chinese Checkers games, are not happy with the 'plastic' pegs they are getting with their wooden games. These ARE wooden pegs with this game!

(More customer reviews)My five year old grandson loves to play Chinese Checkers. This set is sturdy, well made of solid wood. The pegs are much easier to maneuver than marbles and fit firmly in place. Also, the pegs don't roll when the board is accidently knocked (which happens when playing with a 5-yr-old) - nor have they gotten lost. Love it.

(More customer reviews)I bought this as a birthday gift for a former woodworker when she turned 89. She loves playing this game partly because this particular version is so aesthetically pleasing. I agree. Both the wooden board and the glass marbles are very nice to touch as well as to look at. This makes the game especially nice for adults.
I believe that children, too, would like it because of the marbles.

(More customer reviews)Chinese checkers is a great game for teaching strategic thinking. I ordered this one for our family thinking that solid wood would be a pleasant tactile experience. I don't really like plastic. Imagine my disappointment when I find, yes, a solid wood playing board, but a jumble of cheap little plastic checkers. Brightly colored, yes. Wood, no. Ick. I had a version that used marbles when I was a kid and I may try to find some marbles to use with this board. As for durability, the board will last forever, but the pieces didn't come with a bag (bring your own Ziploc) and the box is very cheap and will fall apart after a few uses, making it necessary to figure out a way to keep the pieces with the board. I thought we were getting a good value when I read the description, but I recommend looking a little further for a higher quality product.

(More customer reviews)I was looking for a Chinese Checkers Game for my grandchildren since my children had enjoyed this game. I bought one for $15 at a local toy store and found the wooden board was too small and the marbles were dull colors. I ordered this one from Amazon and even though it says "Artisan Deluxe", it was the same board and marbles (not bright ones like the picture) I had already purchased but in a different box. I supposed it is ok for the four 5-9 year old grandkids but I am now looking for a larger wooden board with real bright colored glass marbles or maybe even pegs for the adults to play. The bag to hold the marbles is a good size, the wooden board is well made with a groove to catch rolling marbles, and I will eventually buy nicer marbles but it would be easier to play on a larger board with more spaces between the marbles. All in all not a bad price and free shipping for this game compared to the others offered on Amazon and other sites.

The board and pieces are beautiful, if not a little smaller than I imagined. The pieces all stow nicely away in two side drawers, and the board looks lovely on my coffee table. I'd highly recommend it at this great price.

(More customer reviews)This gameboard has very nice quality construction, traditional heavy glass marbles, and a classic draw-string pouch for marble storage. The only minor complaints are storage and coloring. The game comes shrink-wrapped in the shipping box, so there's no good way to store it except to hang it on the wall (slot in back of board provided for this purpose). The marble bag would then hang from the hanging board. A little inconvenient for my house where wall space is a premium. The only other minor distraction is the color of the marbles. They are beautiful marbles, but it is very difficult to distinguish between a few of the colors while playing. We have requisitioned brightly colored plastic marbles from another CC game and use them when more than three people are playing. Other than that, this product is great and we are very happy with the purchase.
