(More customer reviews)I ordered this for my 2-year old for Christmas since she has a friend with a keyboard and loves to play with it. It arrived and I was surprised at how little it is. It's good that it's small so she can carry it (which is why we bought the carry along keyboard!) but it's so little that it's more like a pretend toy than a real keyboard. As an adult, I can't actually play songs on it very easily without hitting more than one key at a time. Made for teeny fingers, that's for sure.
In addition, the sound is what you'd expect from a toy... fake and tinny. However, for the $40 price tag, I guess I was expecting it to be a little better. it has a variety of demo songs, but none of them sound as good or real as some other keyboards her friends have (though I couldn't find any of those in stores or online right before the holidays, so we ordered this one instead!)
It does have a record/playback option, but it only records the keyboard and not voices, like a microphone would, so that was a little bit of a disappointment as well. Despite all this, she's been carrying it around the house and has already dropped it more than once and it's held up fine. She seems to enjoy it, which is what's important, however, I think I could've spent half the price on a real "toy" and she'd feel the same way. If you're looking to inspire musical aptitude or interest, I'd recommend investing in a more real keyboard and less of a toy, which this turned out to be.
