Transformers Armada Battle for Cybertron Game Review

This game is by the same designers who made the excellent Star Wars Epic Duels game, and uses the same game mechanics. It's a very straight-forward combat game, pitting autobots versus decepticons. Imagine a cross between Magic: The Gathering and a miniatures battle game, and you have the general feel for the gameplay. Each of the eight transformers that are playable in the game has its own deck of cards that contain all of that units unique moves. As a result, each of them plays with a different style, making each match up a unique battle. Figuring out how to exploit the strengths of your robots against your opponents' weaknesses is the key to winning.
The cards are a little cheap in quality, but there are eight complete decks, one for each robot, that are printed in full color, so that compensates somewhat. The boards and robot pieces are top notch. This is a very fun game that appeals to the younger crowd, but is also an entertaining diversion for the more grown up gamer. Definitely a fun one to play with your kids.

I don't believe I am writing this positive review but here it goes....
Let me start by saying I purchased this at full price, 24.99. My husband was making fun of me when he opened the box and saw how little there was to the game. This was marked down just before Christmas to 7.95! I was a little worried that it might be junk. BUT- my son LOVES this toy. He got tons of stuff for Christmas but this one seems to be his favorite. He wants to play it over and over and over again. I suppose I got my money out of it. Note: The blue guy knocks over the gray guy every time. The gray one is much easier knocked off.

Meet Transformer robot fighters Optimus Prime and Megatron. Ideal for ages 6 and older, these two robots compete in head-to-head battle. The first to knock their opponent off the base wins.Action Figures for a New Generation Modeled after the hit 1980's TV series and recent movie, this Transformers Robot Fighter game includes detailed figures of Optimus Prime and Megatron. Parents can have it ready in a matter of minutes; just slap on a few stickers, put the robots on their stand, and the battle begins. Playing this game is simple: The action figures perform ruthless kicks and punches as your galactic young mastermind twists and turns the knob. One minor design flaw is that the limbs move only at the shoulders and hips, thereby limiting the moves they can make. But they are built to last and loads of fun. These Transformers should integrate nicely into your child's regular action figure collection. Defeat on Battle Platform, or Play AnywhereTransformers have been around for decades and are now more popular than ever. This game allows children to decide the outcome of the endless battle between Megatron and Optimus Prime. Kicks and punches can be completed on command, and knocking your opponent off the platform is quite a challenge. Keep track of hits with the zero-to-five bar--the first one to land five hits wins the game. Or defeat your opponent by targeting the strike plate and knocking the robot off the platform. When taken off the base, the Transformers stand on flat surfaces and make a great everyday toy. Easy and Action-Packed After being a staple of virtually every home in the 1980's, Transformers are now a favorite for the new generation. With a simple design and easy game play, this toy amuses little boys for hours. Shaped like a joystick, the base features a slick futuristic design adorned with the Transformers logo. Lightweight and durable, the base is easy for small hands to control and maneuver. The action figures boast intricate details and moveable joints at the hips and shoulders. One minor design flaw is that their knees and elbows don't bend. When playing the game, the warriors are somewhat limited to sidekicks and uppercuts, but once the fighting frenzy begins, most children won't notice. Another slight drawback is that to knock your opponent off the platform, you have to hit the strike plate, which is so small it is nearly impossible to reach. Kids will enjoy trying to land five hits first and the numbered bar at the top allows them to easily keep track of their score. Overall, the Transformers Robot Fighters game is simple to play and packed with action. What's in the Box 2 robot Transformer action figures, 2 bases, and decorative decals

Hasbro Transformers Risk Game Review

If you're a fan of RISK and you're interested in a new variation of the game, then this version is for you. Like other themed RISK games there are new aspects to the game, like using leaders with attacking/defending advatages and a time limit to play, but this version also incorporates some unique aspects of the Transformers to make things really interesting. Of course, the Cybertronian leaders of your armies can transform, giving them different abilites depending on their mode, but my favorite thing about this version is that the game board itself changes form. Certain zones move according to your playing of cards, and you can use this to your advantage to reveal hidden areas, create new armies, destroy enemy forces, or block off/open access to other zones. The game play is pretty quick, with only 6 days to conquer Cybertron and needing only one card to play a card (instead of three matching ones in standard RISK), but of course you can vary the rules and play a longer version of the game. My main complaint is that the rules are a little vague in some instances, making battle with and loss of leaders confusing sometimes. The board is unique, but a little bland in that the thick borders of the zones block much of the detail of the well-drawn planet in the background. The armies all use the same figures, with one Decepticon force using an unfortunate purple color. The leaders available for the four different armies are Megatron, Prime, Bumblebee, and Blockade.
