Large felt circles on bottom of board so as not to scratch the table. Goes perfectly with Stauton No. 5 tournament chess pieces. My 12 year old son, who loves chess, was thrilled to receive the board and pieces for his birthday! When I bought this gift, it was with a notion of buying a gift that would last a lifetime. I honestly see it being in my son's home when he is an adult -- it's that nice. Great elegant gift for the chess lover!
