(More customer reviews)Midnight Party is an out-of-print board game. The gameplay is simple: each player starts out with control of multiple figurines which they place on the board as they choose. The board is set up as a rectangular path (where the figures are placed) surrounding an inner rectangle (which is a cellar with stairs housing a ghost figurine). Surrounding the path are rooms with certain doors for pieces to go in.
Every turn, a player rolls the special die. If the die is a number,the player chooses a figurine to move and moves it clockwise around the path as many spaces as the number shown. If the die is a ghost, Hugo (a ghost figurine located inside the inner rectangle) moves three spaces toward the path. Once the ghost gets on the path, every time he passes over a player's figure (when the die is rolled and Hugo's path leads him over the same spaces as figurines) the figure moves to the inner rectangle. Players can avoid this by getting their figurines into the rooms. In order to get a figure into the room, players must roll the exact number of spaces required to enter the room, no more no less (similar to Clue).
Once all figurines are either in rooms or in the inner rectangle, the game restarts.
