(More customer reviews)The eight-year-old girl across the street is always wanting to come over to play this game. What kid doesn't like the idea of racing around delivering pizzas? Game play is fast, and it's fun for the grownups and kids about 6-10, with a good blend of chance and strategic decision. Players will need to think about things like whether it's worth the trouble to drive across town for a $5 order or whether they should hold out for a more expensive order (you know, like the $35 peanut butter and anchovy).
Cards like "pizza plunder" that let you steal toppings from other players add to the competitive edge but not enough to produce hard feelings -- usually! Adults might want to play that side of the game light. Unlike games like Sorry, adults are never forced to make moves harmful to the kids, but every kid I know relishes raiding the adults' toppings and giving them speeding tickets just as they are about to make a delivery.
The cards, vehicles, and board are made from sturdy material. Younger kids will have the challenge of counting and adding money, and kids of all ages will develop skills at making light strategic decisions, balancing pros and cons.
