The bowls are no where near as enjoyable as those that come with the $80 Yunzi Stone set: they have a much cheaper, almost plastic feel. The stones themselves are single-convex, light weight, and look like chocolate pieces for melting down. Don't give these to young kids, because they're toxic; go with biconvex starch stones. The board isn't of the best quality, but it's far from the worst thing you can get; it looks nice and plays well, but the paint can scratch off.
This set is best suited for introductory club sets. When starting a Go club, it's fine to go with these; although replacing the stones themselves with glass stones might make the experience more enjoyable-- a good set that replicates shell and slate feel can be had for around $25.
So, while not the best thing, this will get you a good game of Go. The worst downside here is the stones-- stones are the whole of the physical feel of Go, and biconvex heavy stones feel better. If the stones are bugging you, bag them up and drop in some glass stones. If you're after a higher end set to star with, though, go with a $100 set with Yunzi stones.
