My almost 3-year-old loves this game, which reminds me of a very basic version of coverall bingo. There are four cards that each contain the same five animals. The die in the popper has the five animal pictures, plus a "-1" symbol. You pop the die, then cover the corresponding animal face with a matching animal face token. If the "-1" symbol appears you have to remove one of your animal tokens. The first person to get all five animals wins. Up to four people can play.
The game is fairly well made. The animal tokens and game boards are made of heavy layered cardboard; the popper sits in the center of a plastic storage tray. It's a simple game, but it's entertaining - more for my daughter than for me, but it's fun to see how excited she gets when she matches an animal. It's also funny to hear her "Wah-Wah-Wah" sound when the "-1" pops up.
I would recommend this as a good introduction to board games. The rules are easy to understand, which keeps the frustration level low - for both of us! We play this game for short periods of time, but come back to it often.
