I've has sooooooo much fun with my Arduinos (yes, I have several). The original Arduinos are tiny, and my stack often smashed into my variables. But now! The MEGA is here! We have more memory, folks! And so many pins!
NOTE: The MEGA pinout differs slightly from previous Arduinos. You may need to change your existing software to work with the MEGA.

If you want to start learning electronics and especially, micro-controllers, this mega starter kit is a must have. I have not gone into details due to time constraints but I did try a couple of projects from Arduino website and it works. Easy to setup and connects to the USB port. You download and install the software(IDE with compiler) and thats it. A lot of basic project codes are all on the arduino website. They also have user generated codes too, if you want to do more. I really love this kit and after getting this, I was compelled to learn C++ because the programing language is essentially C++.
Just go ahead and get it.

Standard breadboard. One fault I did notice was that a couple of the pin holes were too small to fit the gauge of wire that I was using, but the other holes were fine.

This is a good kit however it did not come with any instructions. With a little bit of searching you can easily find some. It is not assembled so be ready to solder. Mine was missing one resistor but luckily I had an extra one lying around. They are supposed to be mailing me a replacement but I couldn't wait.
Just to let you know...
// Direction pin for motor B is Digital 12
// Speed pin for motor B is Digital 9 (PWM)
//Diretion pin for motor A is Digital 13
//Speed pin or motor A is Digital 10 (PWM)
at least I think....it seems to work for me
