(More customer reviews)My son really wanted this Tech Deck toy and I very reluctantly got it for him for Christmas. It was just so darn expensive!! He was happy and plays with it, but my personal opinion is that it isn't worth it! It isn't made all that durably - it's just a bunch of plastic so I have no idea why the high price tag. And what you can do with it is limited. But my son does seem to enjoy it so that has to be worth something.

I was quite surprised that he can take the mini wheels off the skateboards with the little screwdriver and put another set on. The ramp is very durable. He takes it apart and puts it back together with ease. He even takes it with him in the bathtub. I would highly recommend this toy.

(More customer reviews)I have given this toy to my son prematurely before Christmas because we are going on a trip. Anyaway, he likes the skate park very much. However, as an adult I see the faults that the kids don't care about. First of all, the park is very fragile. When you put it together it doesn't stand perfectly straight. As a result, when you launch the skater he will fail to jump high enough becasue the ramp doesn't touch the floor firmly, so there is a gap between the ramp and the floor. You need a very smooth surface for the skater to go straight up. Plus, one side of the structure is higher than the other. I have come up with an idea, however. I am going to use scotch tape when he plays with it to keep it down on the floor. The toy's idea is very attractive, it's a lot of fun, but they didn't think it through when they were designing it. My son loves it, so what can you do? Would I recommend it, maybe, if you are patient and try to figure out how you can accomodate its use.

(More customer reviews)I have no quarrel with the construction and durability of this ramp - as well I shouldn't, at the price. It's well built, looks nice, and functions pretty well as advertised. I wish the skateboards would hop off the end of the ramp better, but that's probably more a function of the individual skateboards' wheels; I'll try giving them a squirt of graphite powder someday.
The biggest problem is that a toy like this rapidly loses its appeal, and it really has not held my son's interest - even though he was absolutely clamoring for it for Christmas, based no doubt on heavy TV advertising. I wish the Tech Deck people well, but face it: there's only so much you can do with a miniature skateboard and a ramp.
I kind of wish I'd considered making my son's desire for the ramp a "teachable moment": "OK son, you want a ramp, and this one costs $50. How about you and I see if we can build something just like it ourselves, out of scrap wood and plastic and such, and we'll take that $50 and (invest it/save it/spend it on something else)?" But I'm sure my son would have regarded me as a horrible, terrible, no-fun-at-all dad and Scrooge II if I'd pulled a stunt like that.

After I emailed them and complained, they said it was shipped Fedex but in truth it was shipped from the post office. A 3 oz package cost me 6.29 almost twice the amount for the purchase. Beware of the shipping rip off. They make money on you. They pay maybe 1.00 and pocket the rest. The normal shipping rate would have been 3.99 on a standard package.

(More customer reviews)Speaking from the point of view of a mother of a 9 year old son, this is a great item, though I recommend purchasing 2 so you can join them together and turn it from a quarter pipe ramp to a 1/2 pipe ramp. My son received one for christmas and did not stop asking for a 2nd one which I ended up getting for this great price. Most finger board related items at other stores are well into and over the $20 mark. It is extremely durable and the grinding sound affect was an added bonus which he thinks is awesome. I am sure he will get a lot of enjoyment out of this for some time :)

(More customer reviews)this ramp set is very cool, though VERY LIGHT! if you want you can weigh down the bottom portion of the ramps. i used some nuts and epoxy to weigh them down. this worked great. if you choose not to weight them down, they will be too light and will tip over. the bench that is included had the same issue. but the same solution worked. this ramp allowed us to figure out the "BIG AIR" so it was worth it to me. this toy really is a lot of fun. you get the big ramp with door and 4 other ramps that can be set up in many different ways, as they are individual. so there are many configurations possible. this allows the kids to not only share easer, but not get board with it so easy. if they were heavier i would have given it 5 stars, hands down. but i will say, in length, the ramps and bench are small. the smaller ramps are only as wide as a deck is long. but the door one isn't too bad and is quite tall. great for learning flips on! The coping is plastic though. the little brick wall is good and it stays in place. the deck the came with this set is awesome. it just has a great feel to it.
