I was looking for a similar product for my home office, and when I found this item on Amazon, I figured this would be a reasonable facsimile of that classic toy. Plus, this contains TWO hoops, so how could I go wrong? I added this to my Wishlist and was happy to get this as a birthday gift...
Man, was I disappointed! The flimsy plastic rim barely attaches to the ugly cardboard backboard, and the backboard fell off the mount almost every time the ball hit it. Worst of all, the entire assembly affixes to the wall via two "sticky" pads on the back of the rim. This proved to be merely a temporary condition, as within a few weeks the adhesive properties had disappeared and the hoop wouldn't stay attached to the wall. The old Nerfoop had a metal bracket attached to the rim: this bracket could be mounted on a door or easily hung from a pegboard. The black Nerf basketball that comes with this package is a bit heavier than the 1980s ultra-light orange Nerf ball, which is the only improvement this product offers. Don't waste your money on this item!
